August Daily or Alternate Day Weigh-In
 
We're embracing the remainder of Summer and its associated activities. JUDDD allows us to treat such activities as part of the rhythm of our lives, and opportunities to apply what we know and choose to look forward to celebrations and seasonal events.

You know the drill, JBs - this is where we announce our goals for the month and we report the results of our daily or alternate day weigh-ins. Dr Johnson recommends weekly weigh-ins for preference, but for those of us who prefer more regular feedback than that he advises that we or others who are demoralised by bouncing should practise alternate day weigh-ins, after a DD.

Please, always remember, the scale is the least informative way of tracking the changes in our bodies when we follow a fasting lifestyle: we do it because it's a readily accessible proxy for those changes. How you feel, changes in the fit of your clothes, changes in photographs you monitor, improvements in blood pressure etc. are much better indicators. And, seriously, if weigh-in numbers are likely to influence your mood, think very seriously about using something else to assess your progress. The number on the scale is context-free and is influenced by so many factors that can mask progress: use a piece of clothing; measure in several places; use regular photographs from several angles (same clothes, lighting conditions etc.); track your health.

My goal is to continue to maintain within my range of 100-108lbs, allowing for my usual excursions relating to pain management, muscle swelling, fluid shifts etc. Overall my goal is to maintain my body fat level somewhere between 20-25%.

My goal for August is to get into the 140s - ideally i'd like to be 147 or 148 by the end of the month, though how feasible that is I have no idea!

Was expecting to be bouncing around on the weight front but it hasn't happened yet. perhaps in time. Maybe TOM now being a thing of the past has something to do with it?
