How exciting that we've had so many that we need 3 threads! One of these days I'm going to go back and read through ALL of them.

Blood work is the bomb!

Saw my doctor today, started LCHF 4/19/16. 12 weeks STRICT under 20 carbs, lost about 8 pounds (230-222 with long term goal of 165) So frustrating, 35 years ago when I first did Atkins I lost 50 pounds in 6 months (well, I was 25) but NSV I'm down a full pant size, even my shoes are a bit loose. Blood work results (10 weeks in) show triglycerides at 83 from 163, and VLDL as 17 from 33. LDL up a few points (126 from 120) and total at 183 (was 203) so clearly I'm ketogenic.I take a small dose of levothyroxine (tried Synthroid, bad reaction, so generic is where I'm at) and TSH went UP a bit from 1.06 to 1.53 so we're upping me from 88mcg to 100. Maybe that tweak could help a bit. But 3/4 pound per week is about 35-40 for a year, so at this rate I'm 18 months from where I want to be. Not bad, considering I've been around 225 for over 20 years. Hanging in there, treated myself to sourcream/cocoa/sucralose "pudding" when I got home! lol

Congrats, elizedge! I think that's excellent for three months. Important is to have all your arrows pointed in the right directions. It's only a matter of time.

I developed a patch of scalp psoriasis >3 years ago - it's profoundly irritating to the point where I had to wear oven gloves over my hands in an attempt to not scratch it. The psoriasis never once cleared. For 5 weeks now, the psoriasis has diminished profoundly. Sorry for the details - but it's a huge relief to me that this has gone away for once...

Don't know if this would have happened anyway or if it's a consequence of the fasting and supplementation but
Wow! That's great! Are you feeling any improvement in your hands?

KUTGW!!!

I have my own NSV. In the last 5 days two people who I see on a regular basis told me I look skinny and asked if I lost weight. Now my scale says that I haven't, but for the last week or so I thought my stomach looked flatter.

Maybe a whoosh is coming... That would be a great birthday present.

Yes - you know that distinctive stiffness in the morning that used to last through until the afternoon - that's pretty much gone.

I still have difficulty using my hands, IYKWIM - using a mouse or a touchpad, and even handling cutlery irritates the small joints - and they tire easily - but not having to deal with that stiffness that so restricted the range of motion and made it horrendous to have to move the bedclothes back, far less to cope with holding a cup or dressing - it's been gone for a while. I just didn't want to announce it because I didn't know if it would last.

And I still feel superstitious about mentioning it. And, me being me - I have to add in the caveat that I don't know if it would have disappeared anyway or if it might flare again (or if it was always going to be a one-off) - but, for now, I'm thrilled.

Any possibility that you have body recomposition going on?

We sure do!

I usually take selfies and over the past few weeks I've seen full length photos of myself. This is going to sound conceited, but I'm looking fantabulous. Clearly, I have a long way to go, but I am so proud of how far I've come. How far we've all come on this journey.

Wow, NSV3. That's going to be quite a sequel!

That's not conceited Lisa. Congratulations on your blossoming self-esteem.

I've still to catch the end of episode 2 but I'd like to share that, despite an embarrassing excess of holidays and UDs recently, I've just bought the size smaller jeggings. They're snug but there's no muffintop, so I've kept my lovely JUDDD waist.

JUDDD works!!!!!

Ooh, that's a really good one Lee! I remember hearing that your straps shouldn't be what is providing the support and thinking "Yeah, right." But when you're better proportioned, it's true. Rock on girl!

Hey all, hope all of you lovelies are doing well!...I don't know if this is a NSV but it's funny as HE**, as least to me...here goes: I decided to run to the supermarket for a some fruit, threw on a pair of jeans {forgot the belt) and off I went, get to the market...jeans dragging, somehow I managed to trip over my own pant leg and right into the granny smiths...APPLES WENT EVERYWHERE!

Can you say embarrased? lol

I have gotten rid of a few pairs of jeans that are way too big! It's a great feeling (I hate wearing belts so if they are big then they go in the trash)!
Today at work a few of the girls and I were talking about clothes and I said I needed a new coat. One of them said oh, you're probably a size Small...UMMMMMMM yeah sure...we'll go with that.... I've never been a small anything. Probably can get away with a Medium but it was nice to know I kinda "looked" like I could fit into a small

Wonderful NSV's everyone!! Lisa, if you don't realize you look good, no one else will either. And Lee, yay for more comfortable support!!

I just wanted to post a very tiny NSV. My 14 Levi's aren't as tight.

When people tell you you look like a small, you know you're looking good Kismet!

Cindy, that's great! I'm jealous, 'cuz my 14s are still t-i-g-h-t! But the 16s I wore today are very comfy, bordering on looseish. So there's that.

When people tell you you look like a small, you know you're looking good Kismet!

Cindy, that's great! I'm jealous, 'cuz my 14s are still t-i-g-h-t! But the 16s I wore today are very comfy, bordering on looseish. So there's that.
You'll probably move into twelves before I do anyway! I wore them all day yesterday (casual friday) with boots and the legs are loose(ish), and the waist is comfortably snug. That said, I can still wear my stretch Levi's 18W. I am at a new low this morning too, finally!
