Tammy, the Thing's are doing well, great grades, still in sports. And best part, no girlfriends yet. That we know of. I dread the day they start dating!

Stillman Day #2 is rough, but that's the price I have to pay for not behaving the entire time with the challenge at work.

Gonna have salmon sprinkled with dry ranch mix this evening. I'd rather have it smeared with a fatty dill sauce!

Holding my temp maintenance weight of 176.8. I can't believe I'm getting close. They say it's harder the closer you get so I just go into maintenance for awhile then short term diet then back to maintenance so my body doesn't adjust. Working well for me. Maybe I should look to see if it's an established plan somewhere.

Chris, may need to try that sometime. I try to follow it during my diet times. It's strict but it works.

tammy, you are both adorable!... :-) i have a 4-year old granddaughter (amadora), a granddaughter who will be 3 in july (kalaia) and a grandson who just turned 1 (lincoln)...my two oldest boys are each expecting their first babies in late summer/early fall, so we will be up to 5...

hi kal, welcome back and congrats on getting so close to your goal...for me, it was harder when i got close to my goal, but i think it was more psychological than physical...when i get there next time, things will be different and i like your idea on maintaining intermittently...

chris, i so respect your tenacity!...i'm very proud of you and you're gonna climb up the charts at work this week...btw, you'll be able to tell they're dating by watching those archery scores...hahaha...

grilled salmon tonight - excellent!...had some sliced avocado and mashed cauliflower with it...

Yeah I had to take a break. I was stalling so bad and kept cutting calories. It was a nightmare. I'm actually eat tons more food now even on my diet phases than I did in the past which is nuts. I guess my body hadn't gotten used to the very low calorie stuff and now it's back where it should be. Also I know I have body image issues so the maintenance gives my brain time to catch up. Helps me feel less deprived as I'm not constantly dieting which gives me a mental break as well. And I learn how to maintain as I go as well so I can keep it off.

It probably sounds odd and in person when I explain I get a lot of weird looks. And people are like why not just diet and lose all the weight in like 6 months. And I'm respond that I started out 80 pounds heavier than the highest normal bmi weight for my height. And I tried losing it all at once and I got halfway and regained or stalled where no matter how much I tried to lower my calories I couldn't keep dropping. I really am jealous of people that can drop quickly and consistently though, but I have something that works for me. Also my maintenance calories are higher than I would have imagined so now during my diet phases I can eat quite a bit and still lose which surprises me. Everyone is really different.

kal, i agree...every body is a complex system and each one is different...certain general rules apply, generally, but losing weight is against our programming and our bodies have unique ways of derailing our efforts, both physical and psychological...like you, i envy people for whom it is easier, but i want to be lighter, so i will eventually find the way that gets me there...i'm 59 and i would like to be at my goal before i turn 60...

luckily, i feel great and am relatively fit, even though i am fat, hitting the gym about 3 days a week...i can keep up with the grandkids and a busy work schedule...however, all this also contributes to my sporadic motivation...haha...

Good morning!

At yesterday's ball game, Thing 1 struck out, then a good hit to left center for 2 RBI's, then got walked. He also pitched for half an inning, did a decent job. But the team lost in the 6th by the 10 run rule, 18-8. Another home game tonight, let's hope it isn't as windy.

I gained .4 of a pound today, which I expected since I didn't quite behave right yesterday. My body can take only so much of Stillman and I'm beginning to think it's 2 days worth. I think I'll be able to do it today on plan, yesterday ended at more calories, fat, and carbs as the first 2 days put together.

We need a tech nerd that can create us an identical LCF! It's depressing thinking of it shutting down. Did we ever find a reason?

Good morning!

Tony, I knew you had the first 3 g-babies, but 2 more on the way?? That's so exciting!!!! I can't believe Amadora is that old already! Sarah will have a sibling this fall, after 2 miscarriages in 13 months DS + DIL are expecting again, and so far all is well. On May 3 she gets an ultrasound and hopes to find out if it's a boy or girl..... they're really hoping for a boy, the last baby they lost was a boy and it was hard on everyone.

Kal, you're so right, every BODY is different, we don't all lose weight the same.....just like we don't gain the same. Good for you finding what's working for you!! No one else needs to understand it, as long as it works for you that's all that matters!!

Chris, I don't like Stillmans..... never have....I learned a while back I need LC / high fat in order to lose.....I'm impressed that you can do it for more than a day!!!!

Abi, how are you?? How's your knee?? I imagine fully recovered and better than ever!

I'm slowly getting back on the wagon....it's been tough, I still travel a bit between properties....and it's very stressful sometimes dealing with so many properties and the issues that come with it! I have a resident at one property go nuts because he got an eviction notice....he hasn't paid rent in 2 months and I did health and safety inspections on Monday and their Apartment is AWFUL....one of the filthiest I've EVER seen (and I've seen A LOT) so they got a notice about that too. The husband got SO ANGRY he started telling neighbors he was going to teach us, and he was going to plant a bomb....he threatened my maintenance tech and his family ( they live on site) my maintenance tech called me very upset when the neighbors warned him.... so I had to call the police..... what's wrong with people????

i've said it before, and i am saying it again -

there is no ONE DIET FITS ALL. find what works, and stick with it, while it works. purposeful long term weight loss is not a normal function for us bipeds. be prepared for periodic stalls. there is NOTHING we can do about them. of course there are meds that than actually cause weight gain, or deter weight loss, plus med conditions like hypothyroidism, etc, etc etc. it is imperative that whatever weight loss plan y'all are following, a feeling of deprivation, or boredom CANNOT be built into that plan. i shall be making turkey wings this weekend. nobody does them like me. they are a photo finish second to porterhouse for me. still in shock about lcf. Happy Friday the 13th!

What are your weekend plans? Baseball double header that I'm hoping gets rained out. I think that's it. My usual Friday shopping, I hate shopping.

I finished tied for 3rd place on the weight loss challenge at work. Proud of myself for losing 10.4 pounds, which was the most pounds, but not the highest percentage. I got my 10 bucks back and will forward it for the next round that starts in 2 weeks. And 2nd place beat me and the other lady by .01%, that sucked!

Breakfast was a bacon wrap, lunch was leftover Mississippi pot roast. I'm not sure for dinner, craving a Subway salad but am too cheap to buy one.

My brother and sister in law from Georgia are up for a few days. We are having a brunch tomorrow after church at other brother's house. May make a crustless quiche.

Good morning! It's light rain and 50-something degrees out here in the middle of no where Indiana. No word yet on if the ball games will get cancelled, but they did move back the time for them.

I've spent all morning drinking coffee and being a couch potato. I did stick a roast in the crock pot, sort of Mississippi style, the old man doesn't care for the pepperochini thingys. He's full of it.

Am watching Master Chef Junior and wanting to try the risotto they're making! I can barely make a grilled cheese sandwich and these kids are cooking gourmet meals.

Enjoy your day!

Good morning!! (afternoon)

Abi, So glad to hear your knee is doing so much better, Brunch sounds like fun, but won't your favorite waitress miss you??

Chris, I love to watch Master Chef....but man those kids just put me to shame, they're freaking amazing!!!!

Tony, the drama has been pretty intense, this particular couple really is very unstable. We had court yesterday and it was pretty crazy. They were very agitated and intense. The judge ruled in our favor and upheld the eviction, they have 5 calendar days to completely vacate or I can call the Constable / sheriff out to physically remove them. They were so bizarre in court that afterwards the Bailiff actually walked me out to ensure I was able to leave safely. My boss insists that I am not allowed to set foot on that property for the next 5 days, she is concerned that they might accost me......I had to give the maintenance tech a few days off so he doesn't need to be at the property. Hopefully these folks just leave quietly so we can all move on.

This weekend is a lazy couple of days of much needed R & R!

wow, tammy, that is pretty scary...good to hear that everyone is taking the potential threat seriously...you never know what people are capable of, especially when they are desperate and looking for someone to blame...stay safe...no job is worth that kind of exposure and those grandbabies need you :-)

abs, your brunch sounds like fun...i have been eating ham and cheddar crustless quiche for the past two days - love it...our dinner in hanover got postponed due to the weather that was supposed to get nasty up there, but it was fine down here...cold with a few sprinkles...the upside is that emmy's family and chris spent the day here...those kids are something else...lincoln is very sure on his feet now, running around everywhere...

chris, i bet your grilled cheese sandwiches are awesome ;-) did they get the baseball games in?

ff, where are you?...

like the rest of you, i plan to stay here until the last day, but i think we should try to set up a thread on one of the other sites so we are not scrambling at the last minute...thoughts?

The weekend went by way too quickly! We ate Mexican Saturday and I actually behaved, but the shrimp chimichanga almost won. Shrimp fajitas it was, no wraps of course and one of the Things had the beans and rice that came with it. No margaritas either, be impressed!

Not hungry today so I didn't pack lunch, there are always tuna packs stashed in the snack drawed if needed.

Not much else happening, just hoping the windy, cold weather cancels todays ballgame. Have a good one.

Hi Kal & Sara.....hey Sara, my granddaughters name is Sarah.....love that name!!!!

She is adorable. I actually was named after my grand mother Sarah but my mom wanted it pronounced like Say'rah. However, my grandmother I guess felt honored by my mom naming me the same as her called me Sara and it stuck. My grandfather always called me little Sara up until he passed away at 82. I made it a point to not name my children after relatives. I hated being little Sara and didn't want to do that to my children.

after i had my taxes done on Sat the 14th,

except for the afternoon opera, i was sleeping on and off during the weekend. the IRS stress is a bit much for my species, and at MY AGE!!! i will be going to SHOPRITE tomorrow. that is my plan so far. i would like to get turkey wings. no one does them better than i. SUPERGIRL is supposed to be coming back sometime this month. however, April is 1/2 over. at this moment, i am watching Andrew Zimmern eating insects dead AND alive in Mexico. better him than me. what is the most out of the ordinary food y'all have eaten? for me, it was octopus, in Greece. i am referring of course to earth cuisine. We had calamari at an Italian place a long time ago, the kids might have been 5 & 6. Thing 2 took a bite THEN we told him it was Squidward from SpongeBob.
