Hello! I am back after nearly 2 years away successfully doing something else that ended up getting me off my meds, and feeling great! Now I am determined to get another 20 lbs off or more because my daughter marries in 8 months and I want to feel flab free and fabulous! I am looking forward to looking through the posts, but YOUR byline entrigued me and describes what I have added to my regime in the past 2 weeks: no sugars, no starches, no grains.

Hello all!

Time to do something different. I've been low carbing for EVER. I think menopause is fighting my weight loss. I do pretty good with not eating carbs... w/ a cheat day/date night!

Sooooo....a TDEE calculator puts me at 1800 calories, which makes DD 320. BUT... this is the first time I'm hearing of JUDDD, so trying to figure this out. When I use ************, it puts my calories at 1200 so 1800 seems like a lot. I'll probably use ************ to count the calories. Good news is that I already pretty much don't eat sugar, wheat, junk, etc... But not because I don't want to.

Question... for induction, it's strictly every other day? Then later adjust the days toward your lifestyle? Is the induction just two weeks? Or is it like Atkins, where you can extend it for as long as you like. Actually, it shouldn't matter because I plan to do the 320 or less calories.

Question.... any side effects at first? Anything to watch for? LOL, besides being hungry??

I like that I see women my age and older! And that people are maintaining! I don't think I've ever maintained!

I've never fasted tho....so wish me luck! LOL...its not luck, its SKILL!

I’m back after a 3-year hiatus. Serious injury resulted in a weight gain of about 25 pounds, and I’m ready to drop at least 15! My lowest weight was a little too low for my body type, so my goal is a little higher now. I loved this way of eating and I honestly don’t know why it’s taken me this long to jump back on the train!

Hello fellow Judders...joining this large group. After researching, JUDD looks like an easier way to maintain and hopefully eat more. I've set my numbers at 500 - 1500 and will trial that for 2 weeks, then all being well I can increase to 50 - 1500.
I was disappointed that the JUDD site is no longer and My TDEE varies between the different sites. Are any more accurate than the other?
Looking forward to sharing your wisdom and support.
(122 lbs today)

JUDDD is strictly every other day as written. The part about induction is that DDs should be kept under 500 for a minimum of 2 weeks. People stay in induction much longer than 2 weeks and most people drop even lower than 500.

Some people opt for 4:3 or 5:2, but those are technically not JUDDD, but we don't discriminate around here. Many also switch to 4:3 or 5:2 for maintenance.

There are no side effects that I'm aware of.

As far as TDEE I tend to decrease my activity level when using those calculators since most calculators will give me a number that is too high for me if I use my actual activity level. I guess the best bet is to use a few and average them.

Just a rush by to welcome all Newbies. Great advice here already, and as an older maintainer I can't praise JUDDD to highly. (I stay pretty LC but it is not a requirement.)
