Stan...It's amazing how much mis-information is out there re: weight loss.....especially in the medical field. I guess they just can't admit that the "old" food pyramid/weight-loss-amounts are not valid anymore.

I think that's just a generalization. I believe 1% per week is the real optimal amount - so if you're 150, 1.5 lbs would be the amount and right on with the NP. The higher your weight, the more you can "safely" lose a week.

Everyone is different though ... I kinda dislike those "rules" that people try to apply to everyone. YMMV.

Ang, I meant to tell you that Linda Sue's Low Carb website has a delicious Yellow Squash pie recipe, soo good, I eat it for breakfast and/or lunch and it has really helped me lose in the past. Snowed 4" here in Colorado yesterday, only thing planted in our garden so far is radishes.

Heidi,
Great job. You have done it and it worked. Not easy on any plan we do.Just have to stay with it and also move that body.
It gets slower to lose weight as we grow older . And the less we have to lose gets slower.
But it does not take long or much to regain.{Those slips can sure hurt.
The body does rejust and if we move body and watch our food in take and bad carbs. Then we will make our goals.
The more we try and do the better.
I think weighing in is a good thing and we know what our bodies are doing or not> But really it comes down to month to month.and that is what we loss or gained. And then we start another Month and hope for the best.
No matter what May 1st. brings.youcan make it a good month and work little harder.
Good luck every one and great job.{Because u are still trying.
Janet
'restarting May1st. Juddd.and get back to fasting.

Ya I know I need to start weights and hope to later this year, right now I get awfully tired on just a one hour walk. Need to build up to it.

I've always liked Coke. And if I have a soft drink, which is maybe 2 or 3 times a year, it will be that.

Just to show you how things have changed, I can remember going on a Coke binge back when I was about 9 years old. I drank three whole bottles of it! That was back when it came in those 6.5 oz bottles. So that was 19.5 oz. of coke. Nowadays it seems that the 20 oz. bottle is about average.
