Yay I'm back down to my lowest. I will stay on the straight and narrow try to make some progress for this month. So I was in my app and looked at when I went off the rails last time. It was April 2014. I had started may of 2013, was at 191. So it was almost a year to get down 65 or so lbs. that's the point I want to be at by August this time. There was a lot of goofing off in the last 4 months or so looking back at last time. So my aha moment is if I don't get my butt back in gear my future is likely to be exactly what it was last time. Plus I wonder if I get wonky in April every year? Usually it's the end of a very long winter. We've had a nice April pretty much. I could do without the downpour right now and it's supposed to get colder and turn to snow but.... I don't want to ever have to do this again. It's never going to get easier, just harder. Hopefully looking back will help get me some more focus.

Otherwise nothing new here. Violet and I all day. Guys over at the cottage. We will try painting today, hopefully it keeps her entertained for at least an hour. Think I need to go to the dollar stores for new activities.

And I have to put together family dinner. Looking forward to the warm bacon dressing. Gotta dig out the recipe I printed out.

How is everyone else?

Michelle, you are doing great -- so glad you are at your lowest. Excellent. Hope you have fun with Violet today. That warm bacon dressing sounds amazing.

I am okay. TOM showed up today after I skipped a TOM last month so I am feeling extra cranky and uncomfortable as well as having carb cravings. Boo! We are having grilled pork chops, acorn squash and broccoli as our one meal today so hopefully that will keep me satiated. Wish me luck!

Had some bites of the seafood sauce mixture for the lasagna, really good, not hungry, also not peeing a lot so I imagine most of the water retention is flushed out. Starting potatoes again tomorrow for sure. I'm going to hack away the next 5 lbs.

Ugh - sorry Tom showed up Gail. do you get good losses after he leaves? I always had a whoosh after he left, and good losses for the next 2 weeks after. Hysterectomy makes it hard to tell when mine would be sometimes I get ovarian cramps but they were almost nil last month, maybe they are giving up too.

Kinda slow in here today. Is everyone off starting their weekend early?

Howdy! Hope ya'll had a fabulous day!!! Crappy and rainy here but still an excellent day I had my original wedding set made into a new piece of jewelry and got to pick it up today. It is beautiful and she did a fabulous job!

Allergy season has hit so I am sucking down my nettle tea. Tasty and does seem to help.

Im thinking with all the bouncing up and down it may take May to see 199. I needed some black pants for an event next weekend. I was sure hoping I had kept a pair from forever ago in my save for when I shrink tote. I did and they fit yeah!

Todays eats:

2 eggs/ sausage / coffee with collagen and cream

chicken out of the chicken alfredo/ a few peas

peanuts

chicken/ fried turnips /fluff

MICHELLE , Good for you!!! Youve got this. That is interesting you had the records to see where you went off the rails the last time. Yum on bacon dressing! Sounds like lots of fun with Violet!

GAIL, Your dinner sounds fabulous!! Sorry to hear Tom showed up. If your feeling cravy maybe a little extra fat will help out? On a good note you can probably look forward to a woosh after

DIMPLY, Where ya hiding? I hope all is well. I missed you popping in yesterday!

Great idea with the wedding set. I have my first set from my first marriage - I kept for dd1 if she ever wanted to use it or do anything else with it. Haven't thought about that in years. She doesn't even know, how funny. The bacon dressing was omg awesome.

Starting to worry about Dimply myself. I post about disappearing and she does it. I don't recall her saying vacation or anything. Get your rear in here girl, you know it helps keep you on track just like the rest of us.

Edited to add I wanna go shopping in your closet. I have nothing but one pair of jeans in the next size down. I kept nothing, it's been years and several moves across country. And I only have those jeans from the last time I lost weight. It all stopped there so never bought any more clothes. However I have 2 daughters, one a couple inches taller than me and one my height who weigh between 135-145 at any given time so I'm going to have 2 closets eventually to shop in I might look a complete fool at my age wearing their clothes but I know those 2 have a ton they don't even wear

Seafood lasagna was awesome and warming and filling and decadent, all the things you want to eat before you start a soul crushing potato hack! today it starts, and DH is taking me out for steak and scallops the day I break it. I need to lose 5 lbs so I gotta hit 217. And it has to be a day that we don't have to watch Violet, cause she is not going with us! I love her but this abuela needs a break. PLEASE let it happen by Tuesday

I do get to help at the cottage today! Dd1 is off today so I will get some excercise and a break. Have a harder time getting water in over there, I think cause I'm busy and my water isn't attached to my hand practically. Plus I have to walk home to use the bathroom!

So I will check in later. Hope Dimply checks in!

Hi Michelle! I am actually feeling okay today -- TOM is not that bad so far, thank goodness! Your seafood lasagna sounds so good - I want to make one too. So nice that DH is taking you out for steak and scallops after the potato hack.

Mick, you are so close to onderland. I think you will reach it before May. That is a huge milestone -- one worth celebrating for sure! Your tea sounds so good too.

Hi Dimply! Hope you are well!

So glad it is Friday ladies! I am taking out a friend from work for a drink at 4:00 PM so I am going to allow myself one treat because I've been good with low carb eating. I will have one cosmopolitan cocktail which clocks in at 8 carbs. We are going to this really cute bistro called LTK that has great seafood. I am going to order dinner for me and Tony to-go while we have our drinks. We usually get this Mixed Grille which is grilled swordfish, grilled shrimp and steak tips served with broccoli or Brussel sprouts. Very yummy and low-carb. So something to look forward to (why do I love food so much?)

Hope you guys have a GREAT day! Will check in later. xo

Good morning! I am so darn glad to wake up today with just a light headache. I had a heck of a migraine yesterday. After work I spent so much time in the jacuzzi tub it was riciculous. Took something to help me go to sleep and slept 8 to 6. Now that was divine after my normal 5 to 6 hours. Today is the party at my house for SIL's 50th. I havent done a darn thing and have a messsy house so I need to get busy!

I havent decided if I will indulge in a glass of wine yet. Im leaning towards no. Im getting closer to under 200 and am so wanting it to be this month.

Yesterdays eats

coffee with collagen and cream/ 4 boiled eggs/ avocado/mayo

4 sweet potato waffle fries/ 2 very tiny ( as in rip off!) deli chicken grilled highs/ broccoli bacon salad

baking choc in peanut butter with coffee

DIMPLY Im so glad to see you are back and feeling better!!!! Are allegies getting you? I hope you fell 100% soon!

GAIL I hope you enjoyed the outing with your friend and the yummy drink and food!Good friends and good food is a great combo! I think we all love food. Its not just us with extra pounds either. I have a very tiny friend that loves food more than anyone I know

MICHELLE Enjoy your day! That sounds like a fab dinner to break the hack. Ill be cheering you on!!! Have a good day working on the house!!!

Mick, so glad you got some good rest and your headache is starting to subside. Good luck with the party today! Something tells me that you are an excellent hostess and I imagine the party will be really nice. You are so close to under 200 -- so exciting.

Dimply, sending healing vibes to you!

I had a nice time last night and brought home dinner for me and Tony afterwards. We went to Del Frisco's instead because it was pouring rain out and Del's is in our building. I brought home a rib eye for Tony and beef medallions for me along with asparagus and creamed spinach to share -- a real low carb feast!

Sadly, it is rainy and gloomy here again today. I am going to go grocery shopping and get errands done. And then I am going to curl up with a good book and relax. Today's eating will be grilled hamburgers, green salad and cauliflower tots.

Hope you ladies have a fabulous Saturday! We are all doing so well with weight loss!

Down 2 lbs. had to have protein tonight, I need it for my muscles they are so sore from working on cottage. So I had a juicy burger patty with all the fixin's. back to only potatos tomorrow. If I need protein I think I have to slip some in at dinner. But I'm really happy with dropping 2. Hopefully it doesn't go up tomorrow but my muscles are holding a ton of water, very stiff. Not much else to report. Glad dimply is on the mend, Gail is eating awesome food again, so jealous, and mick is party girl today. Have fun you guys and have a good rest of the weekend!

Michelle, congratulations on the 2 pound weight loss! That is awesome! Mick, how did the party go? Dimply, hope you are on the mend.

Sunny day here but brisk, a little chilly. About to go for an 8 mile walk. Making a low carb chicken stew today which will feel comforting. Here is the recipe if anyone is interested. It is a good meal for a chilly or rainy day when you want to feel comforted.

Cut up boneless/skinless chicken breasts, sprinkle with salt and pepper and sautee in butter until they are cooked (or bake in the oven at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes). Set aside. In a large pot, melt 5 TBS of butter. Sautee one chopped yellow onion, several stalks of chopped celery, chopped raw green beans, and a tiny bit of carrot for 10 minutes. Add 1-2 TBS of either xantham gum or corn starch to make a roux. Cook for a few minutes. Add 1 1/2 cups of low-sodium chicken stock and one cup of heavy cream, stir frequently and simmer for 5-7 minutes. Add a nice spot of cooking sherry, fresh thyme, tarragon, salt & pepper. Add some fresh mushrooms and frozen pearl onions and let simmer. Add cooked chicken to the large pot and let simmer for a few minutes until ready to serve.

Good Morning!

Feeling much better! We had about a 10 degree drop in temp yesterday evening which I was afraid would make my sinus pressure worse, but headache is down to just a nagging achy head.

Friday night I took Tylenol PM to help me sleep and was just getting good & drowsy when our house alarm started shrieking. DH & I didn't hear anyone trying to break in & checked all doors & windows and everything was secure. He called the alarm company & they did not see any breach. I was settling down again, when it happened again! This time I thought to check the zone # on the keypad & we determined it was coming from the master bath window. All was secure there, he walked the perimeter of the house outside, and saw nothing. He looked online, and although the 10 year batteries should have a couple of years left it seemed like the battery in that sensor was dying. He didn't want to leave the alarm off overnight, so he said he was going to go to WalMart for new batteries. The closest 24-hour WalMart is not in the best neighborhood & I didn't want him to go there at midnight, so he went to a 24-hour Walgreens nearby & ******ed about paying twice the price. He changed the battery, and I finally calmed down enough to go to sleep about 2. All the adrenaline canceled out any sleep aid in the Tylenol PM. Yesterday we replaced all of the batteries in all of the sensors. A couple of years early, but better than heart attacks for us & the cats.

Scale bounced all over this week and I am up a little but not claiming it. Down another 1.75"

Mick - How was the party? You are so close to onederland!!

Michelle - for being back at your low! I'm glad you're listening to your body & eating protein when needed.

Gail - The chicken stew sounds delicious, and definitely comforting. Enjoy!

Woke up with a sore throat, so not doing potatos today. Potatos are hard enough when you feel good but ugh. Don't feel like eating anything, if I think of anything that sounds good then I will eat. I tried cheesy eggs they tasted terrible so I know my tastebuds are off with this sore throat. Violet just went down for a nap so I'm going to binge watch something and lay around.

Michelle, I am so sorry that you are not feeling well. Sending healing vibes your way. If you have time, gargle with warm water and sea salt. Try some warm tea with honey and lemon too and see if that makes your throat feel better.

Dimply, CONGRATULATIONS on the weight loss but also so sorry about the alarm. That is awful to have your sleep disrupted like that. You have a very good attitude about things which I admire.

We just finished the stew and now are watching movies. I let Tony splurge on some sugar-free candy but I cannot partake. Men can lose on that, we can't, ya know what I mean? I don't want to begrudge him his fun but I can't let a seemingly innocent looking sugar-free chocolate peanut butter cup lead me on the road to ruin and temptation, even if it is not a "trigger food" for me like tortilla chips.

Still have a sore throat, not bad but irritating. Still have 3 lbs to go before I can get that steak and scallop dinner so maybe I will skip eating today and fast. If I get too hungry there's always potatos they don't need to taste good anyways. Tried popcorn last night but nothing tastes good. Maybe a salad later I don't know. Taking dd2 to the doc in a bit, DH at the cottage, just put Violet down for nap. Nothing really going on.

So get this...you guys know about the scale at my moms. Well I took dd2 to the doc today the weighed her, then we ran home to weigh her to see if there was a difference. Yep my scale weighs 4 lbs heavier. DH goes to the doctor at a different office on Wednesday so we are going to test it again. I put new batteries in it just to check that and there's no difference but just moving it over 2 inches nets me a lb lower and if I bring it to the dining room I'm 4 lbs heavier. Took it in my bedroom and it's up 2 or down 2 couldn't get same readings as bathroom. We tried it all with dd1 too. I even got 2 different weights just getting on then off then on again. This scale is crap. I want accurate. Every time!

Wow, Michelle, that is crazy! You think that scales would be more accurate nowadays. And I agree with you -- I want accurate too. It is because of situations like this that I don't weight myself very often. I will weigh once a month BUT I measure myself once a week. I believe that measurements really show weight/fat loss without making me feel like crap or discouraged. Water weight has destroyed the confidence and faith of many a dieter and I am so not having that. No way. No weigh (pun intended).

Howdy! It sure was a nice day today. 68 degrees. Worked in the yard a bit after work then had to run a half hour for an appointment. Hard to believe it is so nice and snow is in the forecast later this week. SAD

Todays eats:

coffee with collagen and cream/ 2 eggs/ sausage

burger patty with cheese

cheese and salami

2 hot dogs wrapped in a new lower carb version of fat head dough/ pickled brussels sprouts

MICHELLE that is crazy about the scale. Ive got the Aria and I cant say how accurate it is because I weighed less at the Dr. Have you used to level to see if your area on the floor is 100% level? As long as its going down over time all is well Maybe a new scale is in order if you want more accuracy? Im glad you are feeling a bit better!!!

GAIL you have a great attitude about the scale. I think the tape shows a better pic for many of us.

DIMPLY I hope you had a fabulous day!!!
