Hi all, Congrats to Artemis and Tony on the weight losses. I hope I didn't miss anyone else. Chris, I hope you are over your illness, what a pain.

Thanks all for the compliments, I am making a poncho for a friend, made with the same type of yarn and she is going to pay me for it!

I have tried chia seeds. I have put them in smoothies, used them as an egg substitute in baking items if I ran out and lastly, I tried making a so-called pudding, <<<<<gag. I couldn't stand the texture even though they should resemble tapioca. I don't taste them like Artemis does. To me, they don't have any flavor.

I weighed on the 15th and am 214, yahoo. I will change stats and that is now 42 lbs down. I am getting into clothes that I haven't worn in a couple of years. I am wearing the type of clothes (business casual) that I wore when I taught, so it is fun being able to wear those again.

The job is going ok. I am gaining more confidence in what I am doing and trying to stay in my day. I believe the administrator, who has only been there since mid Nov. is moving the place in the right direction.

I've done nothing but eat this evening. I've had about 30 carbs, once I figured that out, it made me stop.

I made cheese chips for the spicy cheese dip. Then got the bright idea to make chips out of the lc flat bread I just bought. They were OK. Sprayed with generic Pam then baked. Maybe next time I'll deep dry them.

I've done some serious thinking about my job. I've come to the conclusion that I can work from home on Tuesdays!! I'm gonna fly it by the boss and see what she says.

still wallowing in the glories of winter.

I hope it lasts through sept. I researched erythritol. it is only 0.2 cal per gram. that explains what I thought was the calorie inconsistency of the coconut cake nutritional label. it is the best of the sugar alcohols. the cake is delicious, and, owing to the 5 gr fiber, quite filling for its small size, which is about 1/2 of the size of a Hostess cup cake. I finished the last of the Chinese food. total net carbs for the day is between 3-4 gr. I am allowing for some diet jello and whipped cream later tonight; yet another zero carb choice. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

not mine. today is the anniversary of Caesar Augustus and Livia Drusilla. they married on Jan 17, 38 b.c. they stayed married until his becoming a god in
Aug. of 14 a.d. she herself was adopted into the Julian family as per his last will and testament, thus becoming Iulia Augusta. very few marriages were as successful or as long lasting. so, to celebrate, I enjoyed a pastrami sandwich on a low carb bagel-2 gr net carbs after the 14 gr fiber are subtracted. I feel like I just finished a 7 course meal. that fiber sure does its stuff. I never got around to dessert last night. perhaps tonight. I am thawing out an ATKINS SHAKE, also 2 gr net carbs. but that is not the dessert to which I refer. gonna have (if I do not fall asleep 1st)the diet jello topped with sugar free whipped cream. I certainly do not allow myself to go hungry. ABSIT OMEN AVGVSTO AVGVSTAEQVE, ET FELICITER!!!. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

I EAT CHINESE several days a week.

I merely tweak it to keep it in line with my plan. I am looking into alternate choices for fiber. truly, I did not care for chia seeds. I am looking into Benefiber, amongst other things. of course, I get fiber from veggies, and the low carb bread and bagels. but that, for me, is not enough on a daily basis. so happy to see the weight loss on y'all. I believe my stretch pants are getting big. I keep stepping on them, walking through the apartment, and pulling them up. Let us all keep up the good work. I hope to get out tomorrow. Yesterday was NOT a good day for me! But, today has been much much better! We shall see what comes out in the wash on weigh in day.

Vicki, congratulations on such a weight loss! I know getting back into your clothes is such a great feeling!

I am also looking for fiber sources, hence the reason I tried the chia seeds on recommendation of a co-worker. But, I liked flax seeds/meal much better...as in, I could actually stomach it! Tastes more like bran to me. I have a recipe somewhere for muffins with flax meal. I'll have to see if I can dig it out... I have also tried psyllium husk powder but it gives me a bit of stomach pain after the 2nd or 3rd day of drinking it.

Chris, I hope Tuesday at home works out for you.
Artemis, how much psyllium husk powder are you using that it causes tummy troubles? I have never had issues with it.
ff-your knowledge amazes me.
Tony, I hope you are right about 2018.
Abs, Marilee and whomever I missed, I hope you are doing ok.

It was in the 40's today and major melting is going on. I took the van through the car wash tonight to avoid the anticipated long lines tomorrow and Saturday. You guys out East, hang on, it will be there

Good Morning All! I'm up early today with indigestion of the bad food I ate last evening. Oh it was good, but not the plan.

TGIF I'm so glad I don't work weekends anymore. I worked night's from Sunday to Wednesday for the longest time, sometimes I miss that. Less idiots on night shift

The boss agreed to the Tuesdays off. It won't be every one, this coming one I get to remind the case workers of the dos and donts of rules with their clients that we keep track of their money. And I had a client die last week. I don't meet them very often but I've lost a few since I've been there. He was so sweet too, he wasn't feeling good for the longest time, and finally went to the doc. Lung cancer and they gave him 3-6 months, it wasn't but a few weeks and he died.

Driving to work yesterday kept me on my toes. A school bus pulled out in front of me on the highway, his dumb @$$ should have waited. THEN turns on the next road. Construction through town, when the lanes merge, the guy behind me had to slam his brakes and swerve to miss me and the semi behind him had to get in the lane that was closing, he would have taken quite a few of us out. How they didn't stopped traffic is beyond me.

No clue on food today, I'll try to behave!

made a delicious gumbo last night: chicken, shrimp, andouille sausage, an onion, a pepper, a few stalks of celery, okra, low-sodium chicken broth and spices...simmered for hours and everything was so tender and yummy...

i hope some day to make a very low carb gumbo

it sounds delicious, and perfect for a cold winter's day. I ended my day at 8 net grams, because i finished my extra sharp cheddar (4 oz). I really need to be more controlled with cheese. deciding what I want for bkfst. now it is time for some classical fm. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

watching Lidia's kitchen. olive oil is today's theme.

so far today, i reheated a large order of sliced roast pork, to which i added some Chinese mustard. about 9 pm, i will toast 2 slices low carb pumpernickel bread (2 gr net carb), and use it for a tuna salad sandwich. whatever my dessert will be, it WILL be zero net carb. i want the 2 gr to be today's total, as i want it to balance out the 8 net grams i consumed yesterday. Gumbo.....mmmmmm!

Vicki, I think the recommended dosage of the psyllium husk powder is 1 tablespoon 1-3 times per day. 1 tablespoon didn't do anything for me so I increased it to 2 tablespoons and that's when I started having stomach pain.

I knew as soon as I woke up this morning that the scale was going to be up. I felt bloated and dehydrated. I have not gotten in my water quota the past few days so I guess now it's catching up to me. Two days until my official weigh in day so I have to down the water this weekend.

Good late morning. Stillman diet is started today, I'll go as long as I can. I've got the menu planned out, right down to the eating times. The only problem, I'm headed to my parents tomorrow. I'm taking my lunch bag!!

The boss said it was OK to work Tuesdays from home, I'll shoot for once a month. Maybe twice!

enjoyed a large dinner. i was very hungry.

i had the broiled salmon dinner. i also had a mozzarella omelet and 2 fat pork sausages. i do not know how many carbs in
the sausage, so i am declaring 10 net grams carb for Sat. total. when i was rumminging around in the freezer, before the opera, i found a frozen ribeye steak, bone in. i took it out to defrost. i will be cooking it for dinner tonight. it is now Sunday. i had decided to defrost a pack of pork chops a few days ago, but i changed my mind. i have been eating so much oink lately, i was starting to grunt. so back in the freezer it went. tomorrow, i am doing THE BAKERY, and SHOPRITE. Dang it, what I wrote already, hit the wrong button and lost it. Anyway, the Stillman Day #1 ended on a bad note. But somehow I still lost 2#. And I plan on packing food when I go to my parents today, I HAVE to stick to plan.

Here's Thing 1 last evening at homecoming. He's a sophomore and no that's not his girlfriend, she just had to walk with him in the procession thing. He didn't get king, prince, or duke but I still think he had fun.

So I go to the store to buy flax meal and they were sold out of both brands they have. I guess everyone else had the same idea to make flax muffins this weekend.

This was not a good week for me. Do not expect to have lost much if anything this week.

just finished my bone-in ribeye.

i make it meaty-yum rare, just adding minced garlic, and freshly cracked black pepper, and i put some jewish deli mustard on top. not too much, as i want the steak to be the dominant flavor. on the side, i had the remainder of the Chinese veggies. total net gram carbs thus far is 3, which incl 1 bottle of peach flavored diet Snapple. i have 6 days to decide what foods to celebrate Mozart's birthday and Augustus' "restoration" of the republic.
