After a quick google... I have to say I don't think I've ever seen either of those brands. Contigo is what I have use and love. I bought two as a joke when my hubby insisted we get a mini van and joked about my van personality. I don't drink anything but water in them but I just love it, something about how it drains and bubbles up the water... prefer it to drinking from a cup honestly.

Ok.. off to go grocery shopping and drop off dry cleaning.

Stan, Sysan, and Charlotte, I had to look up Yeti. It sounds like it gets a better rating for insulation, but that's a drawback for me, lol. I like for my coffee to cool off a bit before I drink it. Also, I don't like drinking out of stainless steel. Maybe Yeti has more choices. Granted, I don't love drinking out of plastic either. My fav mug is the one my daughter made for me in high school, but it doesn't fit in my drink holder in my car, so it's my weekend mug.

Bloodhound that makes perfect sense. To each his own!!

But here's my story: Yesterday, I made an Iced Coffee at 6:30AM and left it in my car at Church for 6 hours in the Kansas heat. The outside was too hot to touch! (Ozark Trail knockoff) At 12:30, not only was there still ice in it, it had barely melted. I finished it over the afternoon, and left ice in it until this morning. There was still a little ice in it, 23 hours later.

We love them.

I can get my hot coffee temperature just where I want it and sip on it for 4 hours or so before it is noticeably cooler. Good for heat retention. UNreal for cold drinks.

The lids are plastic, so you don't drink out of stainless, unless you want. (I don't want)

They started showing up as Christmas gifts a couple of years ago and I though 30 clams for a cup was ridiculous. (And I was wrong, but the knockoffs are an even better value at 9.xx each at Wally World.)

And no, I receive don't receive a stipend for my fanatical endorsement!

YMMV.

9.6 Total Egg Fast Loss. 7 days is enough. Back to LCHF, gradually.

So. My first Egg Fast impressions are positive, for sure. I wish there were science on why it works (worked for me may be a better way to put it) and I've got a pretty good idea it won't be a good fit for everyone. I happen to love me some cackleberries, but not everyone does, and I don't tire of foods easily.

I had a WHOPPER of a Charlie Horse in my right let this morning. And my skin is really REALLY salty. It is hott on my print floor, but I work in front of fast moving air, so I don't notice how much dehydration occurs. (See one day 3# weight loss, above) Ketosis is said to cause elevated salt excretion. I PROMISE YOU, that is true! At one point Sunday evening, I could feel the salt deposit on my neck and upper chest and rub it off. That's what I get for working on Sunday!! (I got backed up on work)

I can't wait to have some salad this evening. Baby Spinach and Kale leaves, green pepper, green onion, mushrooms, sharp cheddar, bacon bits....Vinaigrette....cherry tomatoes!!!! I haven't had a salad in a week. About 90% of my carbs come from salad.

Onward.

Let me tell you about my yesterday (after work).

I got in my garden and picked some cucumbers and started pulling a WHOLE BUNCH of crab grass that is trying to take over my green beans. Since the mosquitoes are SO BAD, I have to wear long pants, boots and a hoodie whilst doing all this in the 95* heat. I was only out there about 30 minutes.

I came in, and cleaned my kitchen, gathered the trash (Tuesday is trash day) and made tea. By the time I was done, I felt weak and jittery. This does NOT happen very often. But It gave me permission to have a chocolate binge! I really felt better after the chocolate, but the scale reflects the damage done.

There's my (once again) confession. I'm okay, y'all. I just have something going on. For the past two months or so, i've had some itchy hives all over my body giving me fits. I'm going to go to my Endo soon and have my blood drawn & have stuff checked out.

To answer all the obvious questions, I have changed NOTHING. I eat the same food, I have the same lotion, detergent, soap, shampoo, clothes etc etc. It's SOMETHING that my body has developed and intolerance to. I need to find out what it is.

Sorry for the long post. You guys have a great Tuesday!

Stan - thanks for the encouraging words!

Stan...Thanks for the "egg-fast" info. I might give a modified version of that, coupled with OMAD, a try when my current quiche is gone. I don't want to drop OMAD as it's the ONLY way to lose for this aged body. I looked up the Ozark Trail cup at Wally World and got a 30oz. one for $7 with 0.53 tax and I can pick it up this afternoon. It's NOT a "knock-off." It's an Ozark Trail. Thanks for that info. I hope this helps me to drink more water. That's definitely one place that I fall down.

Hey, Terri....Maybe you developed an allergy to CHOCOLATE!! Just kidding. Hives are NOT fun. I had a severe case of them when I was 14 or15. They even got in my tongue and feet. Good luck finding out what is going on.

Gotta run....KUTGW everyone. I hope to start going back down soon.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who has random long term itchy hives. Mine appear randomly, stays for weeks to months, different parts of the body and once started drive me nuts and expands as the centre sort of cures itself. Haven't found a ointment to work yet and when mentioned to a doctor, none seem to care. Since moving to a small town there is a shortage of doctors so I have to go to the hospital for care so it seems silly to deal with it that way. So I suffer in silence and look forward to DH getting posted to a big city again in the next few years. Phew, rant over, I didn't realized how much it bothered me.

Voice is nearly back, now I just sound super sick but mostly I feel fine except a sore throat. Looking forward to that going away. In the meantime, enjoying the pool and spending time with the kids. Had one of my most favourite LC dinners, ground beef and broccoli casserole with a creamy cheese sauce. So yum. Tonight I've convinced the family we should have breakfast for dinner. It will be yum too. I love my breakfast sausages!

Up 3 pounds, the inevitable results of giving in to my baser instincts.

I opened a new jar of Dill Pickles, and 1 (one!) would have been juuuuuuust fine. Five pickles later, plus a stop at the local Quik Trip and the flood gates were opened.

I stopped short of "eating everything that would hold still long enough for me to get my mouth around it".....but it wasn't pretty.

I still wanna get 10 for July REAL bad, and that's what I was yesterday. REAL bad.

I promise to do better today.

Little recovery today. I stuck with it and was good yesterday.

These HIVES though! I slathered on the gold bond lotion last night before bed and wiggled around a bunch. After an HOUR of tossing & turning, I realized that it wasn't the itching keeping me awake, but HIP PAIN. Ugh. I popped 4 ibuprofen, and FINALLY fell asleep! I'm such a mess.

Stan. . . I don't mean that I LIKE the fact that you had a meltdown yesterday, but reading about it is like watching a car accident. I can't look away! And frankly, I'm glad it's not only me!

(wish I was at 227 right now).

Everyone have a great hump day!

Still have a sore throat but Advil helps. Makes eating a lot of scratcher foods not so easy though. Guess making pork rind fried chicken will have to wait.

Stan, LOL about it all starting with a pickle. One spoon of mint chocolate chip ice cream has been known to turn into three bowls plus a bowl or two of raisin bran for me.

No scale for me today. Can't do it. Maybe not tomorrow either.

I want to congratulate some super losers for the month (even though you may have had a little gain here or there):

Charlotte, Terri, Stan, Bronwyn, Bloodhound, Holly

Way to go people!!!

If I miss anyone, please speak up and shout your success.

Have a great day all.

I think my uncle seems better. We were there Monday and Tuesday. We really picked a good time to go. The center was having its annual DADS (Dept of Aging and Disabilities) check. The woman doing the patient interviews saw me taking my uncle down for lunch and asked to speak with us. She was concerned because he was unshaven. He should have been shaven. So, we were able to tell her a lot of things we were not happy about. Also, while she was there I was telling her how he hurts when he sits a long time. So she insisted they look for a pressure or bed sore. THEY FOUND ONE! OMG he's been saying his bum hurt since he arrived but they never found it. They insist it wasn't there but my mom said he had it at the hospital too. UGH! I think these places are never perfect but some things are not excusable. All in all he's getting good care. The therapists (physical, occupational and speech) are very good. He should be able to go home if he does his mouth/swallowing exercises and PT to walk. He's also going to a urologist today to hopefully get the cath out. Anther exam showed he likely has Parkinson's so that's maybe why he fell.

On another note.. LOVE my Yeti mug knock off. I fill with ice and water or iced tea each morning before school and the ice lasts all day long and even into dinner time. If I leave a cup of ice water or tea in the car all day (like I did while in Dallas with my uncle) it's still icy when I come hours later to get back into the car. These mugs are the bomb. I've never used it for hot liquids mostly because I don't drink coffee and only drink hot tea on a rare very cold day occasion. DH has a big one for his daily water, a coffee one and then a regular tumbler.

Terri, that's interesting about a new allergy. I've always wondered if they can just start out of the blue. Keep us posted with your doctor results. Also, I keep a supply of chocolate fat bombs in the freezer for chocolate emergencies. They really do the trick for me.

Stan, (and everyone really), isn't it amazing how we put ourselves through our bad-eating-binges? Like Terri said, its like train wreck. I do it too and only keeping everything out of the house keeps me from binging when stressed.

Charlotte, with you share your beef/broccoli/cheese sauce recipe? It sounds simple and yummy.

Yall keep up the good work losing! I'm anxious (doesn't help for weight loss) for school to begin again and get into a routine. I have a LONG vacation coming up and that makes me nervous too about not losing or even gaining.

Amylynn - you don't want to stress yourself out so only do what feels right. Looks like you're hanging in there pretty well.
