Yep GB Run was good!! How did you fix your tire problem?? What was wrong with it in the first place?? Just wondered.

Yesterday was a blah day for me. Uneventful. I cant really get focused. But I'm still trying. So far just coffee today....

OK its Tuesday. Hanging in there. Mostly doing IF yesterday and today and keeping calories low. I have eaten carbs though. So far no loss of course but no gain either. Just trying to get into the mode of eating less - so far a little fruit for breakfast and then lunch at 1 PM and nothing more till the next morning. Been walking and biking both, doubling up on the exercise since I missed so much last week. Hope everyone is doing well!!

I'm here, but don't have much to report. Still eating. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Haven't been on the scale, since I don't feel thin. Clothes still fit the same. I try to stay low carb, but I end up eating something carby at least once a day. Yesterday it was a sliver of DH's pizza and some M&Ms. Otherwise I stayed low carb.....eggs, chicken. Don't now which came first. ha ha

Maybe something in the air PAC. I had a super big handful of the new caramel M & Ms yesterday. Boy do I love those and I'm not normally a big sweet eater. They are so good. I've always liked M&Ms and plain caramels so when they fused them, OH MAN dieting got tougher for me. I've avoided them pretty much but have broken down 3 or 4 times and had some

I'm glad you popped in to say HI at least!! I was starting to feel pretty lonely But I know, not much to say sometimes. There's nothing new with me either right now. No loss, no gain. Tonight is the last "practice" Bix at 6 run before the real race last Saturday in July. It's the 7 mile one. I'll be walk/running it tonight. Rode my bike this morning but only 11 miles, didn't want to be too tired out for the run. Also chaperoned a daycare field trip with 18 3 yr olds. It's already been along day......

18 3-year olds! Yikes! Hope you weren't the only chaperone. LOL Definitely not my thing.

I didn't do too bad with food yesterday.....until after dinner when I finished off the pretzels, and then dug into the potato chips. Today is another day.

My knee is really bothering me the past couple days. Really swollen for some reason. I could take a water pill and it would help, but then I'd be in the bathroom for a couple hours. Which is worse?

Hope the knee is feeling better PAC. And hope you got over that bad snacking urge!! It so hard to stay strong, but we gotta keep trying. So important.

I did well eating today finally, made grilled chicken, mushrooms, onion, fresh green beans all sautéed together with a bunch of good spices and some cheddar on top. It was good, hubbys on toasted open face buns but I just had a small bowl. Odd combination I guess?? Bacon and egg for breakfast. Gonna try to stick to LC, mixed with IF/JUDD. Anything will work, it's me sticking to anything that is the problem. I really FEEL unhealthy and overweight tho so I might be desperate enough. Kinda started yesterday with just meats for lunch and no dinner but the meat had surgary bar B Q sauce so I didn't count it as a good day. Also beer. But no beer today I got an hour jog in both days so tomorrow should show a small loss I'm hoping. I need some kind of motivation. Any little ray of improvement. I'm not liking the way I look in clothes right now, just not loving life period. I've been letting things go, procrastinating about everything, not just losing weight. I'm just "blah" right now. Gotta get out of this feeling You should like your life right?!? Maybe cause I've been staying home a lot, not doing anything much all weekend?? Well thanks for listening LC friends

I was up 2, but they were gone this morning. Buh Bye! Don't let the door hit ya......

Just doing the best I can for now.

Yesterday I went out for lunch with 2 high school friends I have not seen in 37 years. It was like it was 1961 all over again seeing them. Last time I saw the one who is now living in FL was when she was pregnant with her daughter in 1980. Just between you and me, I think I look younger than both of them. Ha Ha They are probably saying the same thing about me. We talked about all our medical problems. ha ha And we all have big bellies. It was so much fun. It was almost like I had a life for one day!!

That sounds awesome PAC! Seeing old friends is always the best. I sometimes still see people I went to school with since I've lived here ALL my life. 45th reunion is coming up next month, I just mailed my check in yesterday for the mixer. Sometimes it's hard to believe we have been on this earth this long. I turn 63 this month

CONGRATS on getting rid of the 2 pounds! I did show a VERY small loss this morning, finally back to my posted sig weight Don't know why I just let it slip up like that. I really feel now that I'm carrying around way too much extra weight (been looking at weight charts too much) LOL! Its like I look/feel "OK" but ALL those charts can't be wrong. I've been fooling myself and have to start looking at it from more of a health prospective. I've been looking at "ideal wt charts" & "BMI" charts, etc, and they all say I'm carrying too much extra!! I know I'll not be 110 again and not gonna try to be but I should be shooting for 120 versus 130 I'd have no life tho cause I eat very little food now as it is and I'm not gonna cut out ALL of the beer calories at this point in my life. If I had to give up all alcohol for medical reasons I would try but not there yet I am definitely cutting back the nights out tho, staying home most of this week; giving it a try anyhow. You know me, I don't last long

Kris, you are not happy with your current weight, and that's what matters, not some chart. It is not so black and white as that, especially when you're talking 10 lbs. I am in the obese category on those charts, and I think my realistic goal will still have me in the obese category, not even down to overweight. I think I eat healthy, but I do eat when not hungry sometimes and that's the problem. Whatever. I will still fit in a normal size coffin when the time comes. DH will not have to pay for an upgrade. Maybe a couple extra pallbearers. LOL See how concerned I am?

LOL PAC you are cracking me up!! talking about fitting in the coffin!!

I get what you are saying, and yes it's true I'm not happy with my current weight for whatever reason I don't know?? I guess it just caught me off guard because I thought my end goal should be 130 (cause I felt OK there before) but now I keep reading that my healthy weight is closer to 110-118 and I will NEVER do that. Just surprised me I guess Been so long since I weighed 105 I think I forgot I ever did. duh.

Anyway, still doing OK today, DAY 2 Had the chicken, gr beans and mushrooms at 2PM this afternoon and hopefully done eating for the day. Hoping to be down another pound tomorrow

That's the thing about it, Kris. How can someone writing a chart decide what weight is healthy for you? So everyone your age and height should weigh that amount. Baloney. To me, its a suggestion. Most doctors will tell you that the weight charts are too low. The healthiest weight for you is where you feel the best, and it's not causing you health issues. This is just my opinion, so I hope no one jumps me over this. I believe exercise is very important to health, and you are getting plenty of exercise, much more than most for your age group.

I have not checked a weight chart for years. I just checked howmuchshouldIweigh.org. All they ask is gender and height. This was their answer

You should be about 128 pounds, but anything from 111 and 148 pounds is still OK.

When I got married I weighed around 130 and varied from 125-140 around that time. I felt great. I was very healthy at that time. It was after that when I started to gain and my health went to pot. I know that there are so many more factors besides gender and height, but they did give a pretty wide range, so I feel that it takes into consideration age, bone structure, fat distribution, etc. I believe if I ever reach 140 again it will be due to illness. I won't get there just by diet and exercise, but I would be very happy to lose 40 lbs, and ecstatic to lose 50. It is a beautiful dream. LOL

PAC! I'm excited cause I woke up early to a little woosh so had to tell ya! Down 3 pounds. Its a slow road. But I've had no alcohol and a bunch of dry chicken and that's working. Plus, tons of exercise in 100 degree weather. Today is daycare trip with the other grandson and a bicycle ride, probably a short walk before all that fun starts. This week I'm giving it my all, but you know me well enough to know I struggle with staying on plan. I'm still pumped right now and hoping to hang in there. We have made the decision to take the oldest GS to WDW in August too. Wasn't sure he was old enough to handle it but gonna give it a try. It may be he11 week! We didn't start taking our girls to Disney until the youngest was 7 or 8 and Kavyn is only 5.

GB and MARSHAwhere are you an how are you doing? Have not heard anything from you in awhile??

Good for you on the whoosh, Kris! I got a chuckle out of the no beer and dry chicken. I love chicken, but not dry. White meat is my least favorite.

Be careful exercising in the heat. Today and tomorrow it's going to be in the 90s with high humidity. Also, it's an orange ozone action day. People with respiratory problems and the elderly are told to stay in air conditioning. I guess you're not included in that category yet, LOL, but still be careful. Drink lots of water.

Hope our other pals check in, too. Haven't seen Marsha around the forum anywhere.

Hi PAC, I just got back from the walk. l you were right, really steamy, didn't even try to run at all, just walk and I seemed slower. I did pan grill my chicken with some seasoning so it was actually kinda good, but no dressing, fat, or sauce!! Also had fresh green beans. Just not my usual fare! I'm used to fried bar food washed down with beer Gonna hang tough kong as I can tho

Good Morning! I think you are the only one listening PAC but I am sharing my journey as I am learning along the way. I bounced down another pound yesterday (into the 130's) so was feeling cocky and decided to have a regular meal but not go overboard cause DH wanted to go out. I ordered the bacon cheese burger but with broccoli instead of fries and had 2 beers instead of 5 Burger was calorie loaded (came drenched in BBQ sauce) plus they passed out some free samplings of little cups of 2 pasta salads, AND I ate the entire toasted bun. So anyhow, end result lots of cals & carbs. Woke up this morning to the expected 2 pound gain. Will see how long it takes to get rid of it I've got one piece of that dry chicken left for today. In the 90s the rest of the week so gonna sweat some off. Hope all is well with you

Well, Kris, you know the carbs are going to bring back the water weight. It's not fat you gained. I rarely eat any fried foods anymore, and prefer my meat with no sauce, gravy, etc. Just seasoning. Now that I'm used to it, sauces and gravies give me heartburn. But still with eating that way, I'm still not losing, so I can't fault you for what you're doing. At least you're having fun. LOL

For years I didn't eat steak. That was probably from my "eat low fat, beef is bad" days. After eating steak and prime rib at the casino buffet I'm starting to like it. DH likes his steak well done, I like mine medium. But I'm learning to cook them the way we each like them, his just goes on first until done on one side, then mine goes of for the rest of the time. We had that for dinner tonight, with cooked veggies.....baby carrots, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, and mashed potatoes for DH. As hard as it was, I plunged that pot into the sink as soon as he was finished with it. LOL I could have really dug in to those taters. I don't really like recipes. I just like plain cooked meat, roasted or grilled and plain cooked veggies. Occasional salad. When I see a recipe with a half cup of this and a tbsp of that, I just click on by. DH wouldn't eat it anyway.

My grandson got cellulitis in his ear from swimming at day camp. He is on meds, and is not allowed back to camp for 5 days. Poor kids. He loves camp. It's his summer day care. Dad is out of town on business, and now he's staying at other grandma's for the rest of the week. Thank God for other grandma. LOL

Yes I know It was bad. As I was doing it I knew I shouldn't be Well moving on. We'll see how long it takes to get it back off, kind of a learning experience. Didn't get to ride my bike today since it was 93 degrees. I ran early, but DH would NOT ride bikes with me so I didn't go. I'm trying to do double exercise this week to ensure a loss; I might go out for a really short walk before I go to bed. However I'd have to get all sweaty and gross for just a short walk so may stay right here on the couch in the air conditioning But to be honest I didn't great today either, but did skip dinner so sticking with IF window. I'm not slipping slopping it down tho, I'll eat that last piece of chicken tomorrow for sure!!! HAHAHA!!! I had to go stand in line for a long time and it was smoking hot all day, just didn't work out as I had planned. I was standing in line to get my Natl Parks Senior pass for $10. There's a super big rush on them around here since the announcement was made that the $10 price goes up to $80 end of August. Geez. What a mess. PAC Do you and your hubby go visit the Natl Parks around the US?? It's a great deal for us older peeps!!

Kris, the furthest we go is to W Va to the casino. LOL We don't go anywhere. Actually, we are getting a little too old and sick to be traveling. I don't want DH driving long distances. That's why we haven't been going to the shore in the past few years, as much as I'd like to. And I don't like flying. I never liked to go anywhere that didn't involve sand and the ocean, and DH doesn't like to go anywhere that doesn't include gambling. We are really boring! LOL

I thought I ate pretty good yesterday. I watched my carbs. But at the end of the day I logged my food into an online tracker and those calories sure do add up! I was around 1700 calories. 50 gm of carb. Lots of protein with that steak. I will get on the scale today but don't expect to see a good number.

It is amazing how they add up PAC. I've been logging every morsel this week and I'm at 1200 before I know it. Today just had 1 egg, 1 bacon & half pc 100% whole wt bread. The plan is chicken & gr bns at lunch and nothing more all day. Hard to do on a Friday, but gonna try. Kids are coming tomorrow with pizza for our birthdays which are a week apart. I won't pig out, gotta stick with this. I'll weigh tomorrow morning & think I'll be back where I was but not sure. With this weather I usually sweat some extra off. It comes back if I start drinking beer again tho We know I will, but not as much, I love skipping dinner so much, been awesome going to bed with a totally empty stomach. I sleep good and wake up feeling so good. Too bad the hubbys just don't understand that, they always want us to eat with them It appears that I can handle a bigger meal or two per week as long as I get back to a VERY low DD the next couple of days. Still a setback I know, but gotta be something we can handle right?? Making the choice, give and take.

We have both always loved the sand and beach and not so much for the gambling so that works out good for us. I like to gamble actually, just not good at it. Always lose so get discouraged with it.

Where is everybody else?? Hope GB is OK? I want to tell him about my new bike!!!!

Kris, I was reading about the Senior Pass. It admits up to 4 adults in your car. That's a good deal.

Yes it is! I am looking forward to visiting some of the state parks if life every slows down a little for me. Busy weekend went really fast with the two little ones sleeping over Saturday night. I didn't get any sleep. I figured it would be that way. But it was nice spending time with them and seeing them have fun in the pool. I'm worn out, will go to bed early tonight! Didn't even weigh today. Figured I needn't bother since I had pizza three days in a row, leftovers from the birthday party. Today is DH's b/d; we are both 62 for a week then I'll be 63 next Sunday. Another year older, ick. I'm pretty sure I didn't have over 1200 to 1400 calories any of the days but ate the wrong stuff.

You are both youngsters compared to me, Kris! Happy Birthday to both of you!

We went to the casino yesterday, so I ate too much...free buffet. It wasn't really that good. The roast beef was overcooked and dry. The steaks were tough. The carrots were undercooked and hard. But you know what? I ended up eating too much anyway! LOL

Thanks for the birthday wishes PAC! Not much new here, thread getting pretty quiet again I've just been surviving this week, trying to watch it and get plenty of exercise but not much weightloss. I still keep hovering around 140, up & down. Wish GB & Marsha would pop in to say HI and let us know how they are doing.

Big Bix 7 mile roadrace is Saturday morning so I've been staying away from alcohol, staying home a lot.
