WLS in 1999

Hi,
I had weight loss surgery when I was 59 in 1999. I went from 285 to 158. By 2008 I had gained up to 190. I went on Atkins and lost 60 pounds down to 148. By this year 2015 I had gone back up to 176 and so went back on Atkins. I included garcina cambogia 500mgs 3 times a day. So far I have lost 18 pounds and many many inches.
I am 74 at the moment and in a size 9 jeans. I feel very well and have to keep up my health since I am a full time caregiver to my husband who has parkinson's. He was diagnosed in 2009.
It has been a very stressful 6 years but I have realized that indulging in high carb refined foods isn't doing me any good and I need my health more than ever. I recommend Atkins as it's lots of protein which we need and lots of green veggies.
So far no ill effects from the WLS and I'm glad I had it done.

Welcome Sarakay!! Glad that you are back on track with your eating. I've been on the dark side of this woe till 2 days ago . I know the withdrawal will be bad but,I can't wait to start feeling good again.

Hi,
I had the RYN I think it's called. Some food does not get absorbed because my intestine was by-passed and stomach stapled. Despite this my stomach has grown to nearly the capacity it was before.
Atkins is the best food plan for me along with carcina cambogia.
Even though I have lost only 18 pounds the inches off are amazing.
I avoid ANY sugar or white flour or processed food like the plague.

Congratulations! Where do you get your carcina cambogia? Are there some brands better than others?

When you had your surgery did the doctor talk about what to eat? I had a co-worker who had surgery around then and never lost weight. She didn't change her diet either. Someone told me back then thy didn't give any nutritional info. She died a few months ago from diabetic complications at the ate of 66.
