Marching in to May

How's everybody doing?

I started the this months thread because I know Joyful is having some personal issues, so if you would, please say a prayer for her. I'm sure she'll check in here when she can.

I'm a month away from being two years out from surgery, and although I haven't "worked at it" the past 8 months, I'm still happy at how far I've come, and am determined to lose this last 30 by the end of the summer! At least I know now that I can maintain fairly well! I just want to get to goal and THEN maintain. I shouldn't have let myself just slide these past few months, but I'm not going to dwell on it, because each day is a new start.

Wendy ~ Thanks for picking up the slack and for your prayers.. Fighting tooth and nail to keep it together. Yes , I do lurk . But, don't feel in a good place in my head.I can only hope that I will gravitate towards the light soon.

Hope all of you are having great results this month.

Joyful: feel better soon!!

I've come to the conclusion that I have to eat around 800 calories per day in order to lose these last 30 pounds. I am so bummed out. At 1100 - 1200 calories daily I was already starving most of the time I guess I just need to buckle down and get this done, while keeping in mind that when I DO get to goal, I know how to maintain already. ~sigh~

All is good here. I am reflecting on my good fortune this mother's day. I am mother to two exceptionally compassionate and caring young adults, my own mother continues to kick cancers axx, and I just learned my nephew's fiance is due in December, meaning my baby brother will soon be a Grandpa! Life is good.

Not much action in this thread; I figure everyone's busy with spring stuff!
I've been keeping on track, and am down a pound from my stats. Weekends are so darned hard, but I ended up doing very good over the past weekend. I'm doing my best, and mostly succeeding, in keeping calories around 900, protein at 70g minimum, and carbs below 40.

How is everyone doing?

Fire drill today while I was teaching on the 3rd floor. I used to dread this so much, going down, not so much. But coming back up 3 flights, no stopping, surrounded by students and colleagues, heart hammering by the second flight, hardly able to converse while I sucked wind trying to catch my breath.... it's been four years since I experienced it, yet when the alarm went off I felt a moment of dread and then remembered~ gastric sleeve, I've got this! And I scampered back up those 3 flights without any cares. and this is just one of a million little reasons why I will always be grateful for my surgery. I my sleeve.

It was warm in my neck of the woods this weekend, too. I had a garage sale Friday thru Sunday, so I was outside a lot. Didn't have many customers, so got lots of work done around the yard and in the camper we bought last week. Looking forward to going camping soon!! Also, on Friday I won a prize package given out my our local radio station, consisting of a $200 GC to a local sporting goods store, a bicycle from Vernors, and a $75 passcard to any state park!! Yippee!!! I'm so excited!

2 years ago I had surgery on my right foot to remove a Morton's Neuroma, which is a thickening of nerve tissues between your toes, and feels like someone is constantly pinching you between your toes.... very painful! Well, now I fear I have one on my LEFT foot!!! I'll find out for sure after I go to the doc today. Last time, we tried a series of shots to try to kill it before we ended up going with surgery; this time, if it's the same thing, I'm opting for surgery right away. Not messing around with the shots. And the sooner I can get the surgery done, the better, as I am so tired of always being in pain when I walk

Other than that, things are good. Losing very slowly, but I'll get to goal some day.

Some nice cammies at Penny's

I wear a lot is spanx type stuff to smooth things out, and during cold weather I don't mind at all, because it's another layer to keep me warm. But in the summer, not so much. I bought a new cammie at Penny's yesterday, it's the Bisou Bisou brand. It's long (which I like for layered look) soft, breathable, and yet has enough lycra to tame my muffin top to an acceptable level. I bought a black one, but after wearing it today, I'm going back for more colors. They're on sale for $8.99, another 20% off if you use your Penny's card. ( I use my card, and then immediately pay it off right there at the register with my debit card. And because I use my card, I get at least one coupon a month for $10.00 off a 10$ purchase, I can't tell you how many shirts I've bought for 3$. Once you've spent $200 you also get a 10$ reward which is like cash so you can layer it on coupons. But it takes me a long time to get to that reward because I'm busy using my other coupons getting 10$ off. )

I've been trying to lose 7 pounds since December. I'm going to try upping my protein to 80 grams or more a day. I consistently get 60, but usually not much more. Meanwhile, I will keep weighing daily, tracking my food, tweaking my program and living my life with joy and gratitude. Maybe I can peel these pounds off, maybe it's rebound that's here to stay. I'm not going to give up and I'm not going to beat myself up either. I got a second chance at health and vitality and I am savoring every moment.
