Going to an information session

Tomorrow night is an information session for wls. My bmi is 38, but I have sleep apnea, am pre-diabetic and have arthritis in both knees. I am scared they will say I am a candidate, and just as scared they will say I am not...

Good luck - remember, it's just an info session. Once you have all the details then you can decide if that's the direction you want to go.
It absolutely works for weightloss, but make sure you understand all of the permanent changes it will make in your digestive track.

Also, look at the numbers re: how many people start regaing weight at the 3-4 year mark
as their "pouch" stretches and they are able to start eating larger amounts of carbs.

WLS can be a life changer, but it's not a "get out of Obesity-Land free" card.

Best wishes!

I am 4 years out from surgery. My surgery made it possible to lose almost 140 pounds, but more importantly, it has helped me maintain that loss. Previous to surgery, I never ever was able to maintain a loss. Like most people, I gained it back, plus extra. I am so grateful for my new life. Good luck in whatever path you choose.

Thanks! I know one person with the band, and a couple with bypass. I have talked extensively with them, but am sure everyone is different... I need to do something,

I have the gastric sleeve, and it has been a strong and effective tool to improve my health and overall quality of life.
