There are hundreds of keto books or books that have the word keto on its title out there on the market. Some of them are not really based on the Nutritional ketosis and are not low protein or higher in fat. They could be higher in carbs too. They use the name Keto rather loosely for anything that is not SAD nowadays.Check out their facts before buying them.

WOE: Ketogenic Mediterranean Diet
Start Date: July 14, 2016
Hello, I am new here. I just started the Ketogenic Mediterranean Diet designed by Dr. Steve Parker. I have been diabetic for nearly 20 years and have been struggling for the last two years to keep down the weight and the A1c. When I go back to my doctor in August, I don't want him to say "Time for insulin." I usually have a high rating in February and by my July check have brought it back down, so I think I don't need the insulin yet, just more careful eating in the winter. I'm planning for this diet to be my new life style. Today was fairly easy, so here's hoping that trend continues.

I lost 1 pound overnight! Yay! Now if that would be the trend, how happy I would be. My average glucose reading for the last 30 days is 171 (A1c 7.6). My goal is to get that down to A1c 7.0 by the time I go for my next doctor check-up on August 11.

I tried to stick to the diet today, but my carbs were 129, compared to 60 yesterday. Tomorrow I hope to keep them under 100 for the day. I am writing down everything I eat and keeping track of it on the Calorie Count site.

Hello!!! Also new here, just joined today actually. I've been trying out LCHF for a while now off and on, with no significant losses in weight recorded even though I'm certain LCHF is the way to go for me. I'm pre-diabetic and have been for some years so I must keep my carbs low to avoid Type 2 and meds. I also want to lose some weight too. Hope to get a lot of support here!!!

Hi,
May I also join and forgive any silly questions etc!?
I have been reading Diet Doctor articles and searching LCHF recipes.
Followed and lost 11lb in 3 weeks, then stalled for 2 weeks.
Granddaughter's 1st birthday and I had cake followed by 14 days of rubbishy, chocolate being my downfall.
Last night I watched a video are you a sugar addict ( found on Diet a Doctor Site ) and realise this is me.
Her description of a guided missile is so me. Chocolate in cupboard, don't want or need it but my brain wins and I go and get it and more.
Today is my restart with scrambled 1 scrambled egg and seasonings paprika, garlic and onion powders. Followed by a little Diet Dr nana bread - a failure as the physillium powder gave a grey/purple colour! Any one in UK know of a Physillium powder that stays whitish?
Encouragement neede to keep me on track

You will see I have been absent for sometime! My weight is 170lb!! So much for 140lb I have gone the wrong way. The afore mentioned videos mention Insulin as the fat storing problem. More sugar = more insulin and if energy not used then it is stored! NO FORMS OF SUGAR eaten then insulin low and the body MUST convert fat stores and dietary fats for energy. So when I crave anything I aught not to I will say to myself INSULIN TO MAKE ME STOP.
