SUNDAY'S ROLL CALL, JAN. 1, 2017

That year is an odd year that feels weird to write to me.....

Happy New Year to ALL of you ladies!

I think I missed new year from New York, was watching tv and missed it, lol. Texting with folks in Calif. where it isn't 2017 yet, lol. No, I'm just drinking coffee. I have some Chocolate Coffee beans with Cognac in them, but don't feel like opening the box.

See you in the morning!

Happy New Year. There were a lot of loud firecrackers going off last night at midnight. Could not miss the New Year's entry. Up early today.

Dinner and celebration was very nice. We did a jig saw puzzle after dinner.
DS made it down safely, he will be here until Tuesday. He wants to make me some split pea soup.

Hope you all had a pleasant as can be evening and start up to a New Year.

I had a very nice NYEve at Russell/Stevens, we all stayed and watched the ball drop in Times Square, haven't done that forever.
Lots of great conversation and food was delicious.......stuffed mushrooms, jumbo shrimp and filets done outside on the grille, plus drinks. Even eggnog.
Now ready to get decorations down and put away.
Happy New Year to my wonderful Facebook friends!! I am so happy to be part of this group.
Doris. How'd you get along last night?

Good morning and happy new year's.

Ginny - I posted about leasing a car on Saturday's thread.

We took a friend and her hubby out to lunch for her birthday, which was nice, came home, napped, and then took the COSTCO Chicken Pot Pie to another friend's for an early dinner and bridge. We were home and in our jammies by 8 pm....sleeting and horrible night.

I'm glad we made it through in our own separate ways this New Years Eve!

Loretta, glad your family celebrated well, did you have time to finish the puzzle? I used to keep a puzzle going in one room, all the time, so when people came over, they would come to yak and put some pieces in. Glad you will get some good split pea soup!

Ginny, I saw the pictures you posted from your friends gathering, very nice to have a good circle of friends like that, and your meal sounds great! That chef must feel good to make such a nice meal and use his talents still. And you stayed up!! Hope you get your car situation figured out. I did ok last night until I went to bed, finally got to sleep after 3AM. And so it goes.

Babette, how nice of you and John to bring that chicken pie to your friends!! Was she able to play bridge using the card holder? What a night to be out, sleet and stormy, good idea to go home and stay there!

I tried to find some Fireworks show from Dallas, but no local channels showed any, only showed Chicago, New Orleans, and Miami, strange. The Rose Parade is on tomorrow morning, so plan on watching that. Silas will be over later and staying all night. Going to do some bookkeeping and whatever. I checked my Visa bill, and noticed Dallas Morning News charged me $437 for my Sunday only subscription!! So called, business office was closed, but my account showed they charged me for the Sunday paper through 2025!!!! Will deal with that tomorrow or Tuesday. Always something.

There is a bobcat killing chickens in our neighborhood, 3 right behind me, across the alley and tried another yard last night. I never knew so many people had chickens in these neighborhoods. I'm told you can have 6, but no rooster.

Doris, I'd call the bank today where that Visa card is from and file a complaint on that charge. They probably have a 24/7 phone number listed on the card. The bank will put a 'hold' on that charge until they can contact the company for them to reverse the charge.

I've had to do that before - it sometimes takes the company a while to reverse the charge; and, meanwhile, you're being charged interest by the bank/credit card company.

I think it's best to call both - but, you do what you think is best for you -

Sending hugs,
Michele

Wishing You ALL lots of Abundance, Happiness, Health and Joy for 2017

I am feeling kinda tired today. Glad the holidays are finally over. Although it has been fun with more Family time. Just one more dinner with DD and family tonight.

We had another 6-8" of snow fall yesterday. It never stopped all day. It is the light fully kind so I was able to push it off my pathway this morning.

Urggh! Doris on that Crcard charge fiasco. You are right always something. Glad you are not stressing over it.

Ginny, how lovely of the boys to entertain you all like that. Love your pics.

Babette, Thanks for sharing that car lease info, always good to know these
things.

Loretta, Sounds like you had some good family time too.

Julie, Hope you are still keeping cozy warm down there.

Michele, How was your 3 fish dinner? Sounds delish.

Waving to All...and hope to check back later...

just time for a quick note, Babette, the HGTV show tonight called "Island Life" is new and features a couple moving from Seattle to Whidbey Island, in case you want to see it, there is another new show after it. It is on here at 9:00PM, not sure what time it's on at your area.

Gotta run off, cheesecake in the oven!!
