2017 January Whole 30!!!!!!!

Good morning all,

Hoping somebody will join me for this month of a Whole30 challenge. I will post my menu each day and we will see at the end of the month how I did. I have tried this challenge before but never made it the whole 30 so I am a bit nervous. So here I am to try again.

Well good morning,

Doing well. Day 2. I made clarified butter to use for the day with my eggs and BPC. Today I need to make mayo and ranch dressing for my salad for lunch. The good thing about doing this Whole30 is reading the labels. I can't believe what they put in foods some sugar even if it says sugar 0 there is sugar in the ingredients. Our grocery store got bought out recently and they switched out the sausage I usually buy with some other brand I don't like. Well hubby bought 3 of the new ones and I knew he would be eating them this week so I checked the ingredients. I can't have it they put sugar in it. Same goes with the pepperoni I have. I got hungry at 9 and wanted a bit of something so thought a few pieces of pepperoni would be ok, but not. Makes you think though......

Menu:
B - BPC, 2 organic eggs, green pepper, onion, salsa
L - 1 hard boiled egg (wasn't hungry)
D - Italian beef veggie soup
S - Chamomile tea, bit more veggie soup

Good luck!
I'm getting back to basics, but Primal not whole30 (maybe in Feb once I get my head back in it!).
I know what you mean about sausage. Some of the sugar is used to cure it, and there's very little left in the finished product, but still, so much junk in foods!

Hey, Pam! I'm doing paleo, so not specifically a Whole 30, but the same basics. Nice to see you!

Hi Rach - I figured I would post here and Atkin's induction as well. Just don't want to leave those great gals I follow the Paleo, Primal, Atkin's. Just found with Atkin's i have too much dairy and it is messing me up. So here I am. I don't mind chesse, just not like what I was eating, hence the Whole30 cleansing. I just needed to do it. I would love to see your menus if you don't mind so I can see if there is something I might want to try.

Thanks Dottie. Once we get paid on the 15th I will run to Costco to get ground pork and make my own sausage. Hubby and I have done that in the past and i have found I really liked it.

Pam, I'll stick to posting in the great Induction thread - will try to keep up posting my menus. Just keeping it simple.

Today is day 3 Whole30.

I am trying to keep it more Atkins induction Whole30 but had sweet potatoes last night for dinner. Sweet potatoes are ok for added levels in Atkins just not induction. I will have some maybe once a week but that's it. They have carbs and I want to lose the most weight I can, but stick to Whole30 foods. So far so good. I made 2 batches of mayo yesterday and ranch dressing. I will make ketchup this week as well.

Menu:
B - BPC
L - diced chicken, salad, cerely, sunflower seeds, Paleo ranch
D - Sheppard's pie (no cheese and sweet potato topping, was really good)
S - BPC

I make my own mayo often.
One of my favorites is to use lime juice (instead of lemon) and add some cilantro as well. Nice on chicken and fish

Dottie that sounds good.

Day 4 Whole30 for me. Am I finding it hard? No, but I do want something sweet and I don't mean like candy. I miss my stevia in my one cup of coffee in the am and in my tea at night. It's just not the same. As for the foods, it's pretty much how I eat anyway. I do have swelling in my spine today so this morning is hard, but working on it. I am going to cup down on the sweet potatoes from now on just so I can get some weight off. I will be happy that at the end of this I am in the 160's.

Menu:
B - BPC, 2 hard boiled organic eggs
L - diced chicken, lettuce, sunflower seeds, Paleo ranch, 1/2 cup blueberries
D - Loin broil, baked cabbage, tiny bit of leftover sheppards pie
S - BPC
