Biotin for hair thinning...

Does anyone take it? If so does it help? Where can I get it? My hair is thinning real bad. Thanks in advance.

I have started taking it.
Can't say for sure that it helps . . . I am guessing it would only help for new hair growth.
I buy mine at my local food coop.

I took Biotin for many months when my hair started thinning after menopause, but it didn't help. I've read that Biotin only works to regrow hair if you actually have a shortage of it in your body. I'm also hypothyroid, so that, along with taking thyroid meds and going through menopause has not been friendly to my hair.

My step-daughter's hair is thinning badly. She had a beautiful head of hair growing up. Someone at one of those hair restoration places told her that her hair loss is from stress, and it will never come back. I think they were just trying to talk her into buying their treatments. I also think she may have a thyroid problem, but she refused to get it checked. She is always cold, losing her hair, putting on some belly fat. I have recommended that she take supplements, but she won't buy them. I would gladly buy them for her if I thought there was something that would really help. She is 48 years old.

I agree with Gina. Collagen (in the form of bone broth) seems to be helping me grow new hair. It took about six weeks to see the difference.

I took biotin for months and it did nothing.

I take MSM for my joints and have noticed the little whispies all around my hairline are much thicker than they used to be, so I assume it is helping all of my hair. My nails are definitely growing faster too. Collagen might help too. I know it's good for joints.
