Hey, sorry to go MIA! We got our first foster placement almost 2 weeks ago, a beautiful newborn girl, and I've been up every night since. I haven't lifted or worked out in 2 weeks . But it's worth it!!

We did take a nice 20 minute walk today! As it cools off I plan to do more and more of that! Also, I see my endocrinologist today and hope for a better option to treat my thyroid. I have no oomph these days and am gaining weight on 1200 calories .

How wonderful about the baby. So sweet of you and your family to take that on.

I hope your thyroid issues get resolved soon, and you get your energy back. I'm guessing staying awake with a baby (and the related joy) burns extra calories!

I've been experimenting with an extended fast for pain management and have allowed myself to "rest" a lot. I am rethinking what exercise/movement approach to try next.

My new gym is supposed to open January 2! I'm excited!! I haven't been at a gym in about 2 months now and really miss being strong!

On the plus side, baby Z is just an amazing blessing!! we're all crazy about her and love having her in our lives. Not sure what the future holds, but savoring every minute for now!

At the place I used to exercise (pre injury) they have a heart rate cardio program which I've recently started, now that I'm cleared for activity. I feel it's a good way to swing back into activity before pushing it. The program is very challenging. See below for my workout. The very beginning was just hanging out waiting for it to start but you can see when it starts.

Hey wonder monkey, what is the workout? HIIT? I'm ramping back up to lifting regularly but want to add some cardio for endurance too.

New gym opens next qwerk!! Hope the family will watch the baby so I can actually go!

It varies from workout to workout but on Tuesday it was a partner workout. Sprint row for a set distance then kettle ball hold for three rounds. Then stationary bike spring coupled with burpees for six rounds.

All that is coupled with some rest periods. We wear a heart rate monitor and pay attention to it. Rather than go for a long period in the ancient "fat burning zone" this is designed to go to max, do an active recovery, then repeat that then rest to allow the heart rate to recover.

Last year I had started Crossfit. It is an amazing blend of weight training and cardio. We have two layers at my box. One is Alpha for those that want to train for competition and Brovo, which is us normal people. Very highly instructive, watchful coaches, etc. You can push yourself as little or as much as you wish.

Been getting between 7000 and 8000 steps on my FitBit everyday....and almost 8 hours of sleep each night. I'm starting to realize how important that really is!!

Well, I shouldn't have bragged about my steps. I barely got over 5000 yesterday. I think that mile around Walmart doesn't count right because of my hand being on the buggy handle!

Hope the knee gets better.

My back has been giving me fits since last Saturday......and I am definitely not good at dealing with this.

I am up to back excercises, but not a lot of activity. So I am going to be slow at this activity thing.
But need to do those excercises every day......so here is where I will post.....

I hope your back feels better soon!

I had 8014 steps yesterday and slept 7 hrs and 13 minutes last night. That's not quite enough for me but it is daylight so late these days that I stay up way too late!

I love my fitbit. That was one physical fitness fad that I'm glad I spent the money on. I've been using mine for well over a year now.

5084 steps but it was raining most of the day and my knee !! Thank God it feels much, much better this morning! I have VBS tonight so I'm going to need to be active, I'm sure! Only slept 6 hrs and 51 min last night though. I went to sleep early but woke up early. At least it was all restful sleep!

Good luck with VBS!! That will help with activity.

I am doing about 5 minutes of back excercises, and walking about 5 minutes right now. And no negative effect, so going to keep with that.
That was yesterday, so I am off to do the same before bed tonight.

Did you have a back injury? It sounds like if you ease into your exercise/therapy you'll be ok!

I had 7068 steps yesterday. I spent most of VBS sitting in a giant fish belly made of a loud fan blowing up a black tarp smelling sardines! Fun times telling story to our babies though!

I only slept 6 hrs and 44 min. Daylight wakes me up even with the blinds closed and we're so close to the summer solstice now the days are so long. Light early and light later!

I did 12 minutes on treadmill. Then about 5 minutes of back stretches/excercises.

Hoping to get that worked up higher.
Back was tight this morning......

Horse show this weekend, so lots of walking. But I am not going to ride, based on my back......

I wish I wasn't scared of horses but I am. We have two that just roam around the place like big old pet dogs. Not even in a pen! I'll pet them but wouldn't dare get on one!

6245 Friday 6640 Saturday AND I slept 8 hrs and 58 minutes last night without waking up! I have to confess that I took a whole Benadryl caplet because I felt swimmy headed and my ears were fluttering. It knocked me out!

I got in my above ground pool for the first time this year today. I just did cleaning stuff until it started raining. But it's ready to go now!

6086 steps yesterday 7 hrs 23 mins sleep. I'm ok with that. Both could be more though!

I have got to find something else that I like to add to my exercise. Maybe I'll start lifting my little weights again. Or walking away the pounds cd's. That get my heart pumping and I can do it at the foot of my bed!! In my night gown!!
