Hi every one I'm so sad cause I try the ketostick at the morning and it shows that I'm out of Ketones I didn't cheer I eat just egg, meat, very little cheese and some days 1cup lettuce some times I eat free sugar jello and drinking decaf coffee and a lot lot of water.. Can any one tell me how much we need fat, protein? All what I want to lose 20 lb and it's my first time with Atkins I have hypothyroid. I used to be thin all my life but now with the thyroid problem I cann't lose my after pregnancy weight. I started before 1monthes with the new Atkins and now I'm on Atkins 72.

Here is one day which was today
At the morning I took my thyroid med. Then I wait for one hour and drunk water
My breakfast was 2 fried egg with 5 peppironi and decaf coffee.
At 1p.m I got one cheddar cheese slice and water
For lunch 5 pm I had fried meatballs and I add on them 2 TBS cream and origano.
At 6pm I drink green tea.
At 7.30 I got lime free sugar jello with sushi cocoa powder..
At 8 pm drink more water
For dinner at 9 I have tuna with mayo..
Before sleeping I had herbal tea.
That's it usually I have egg for breakfast, chicken or meat for lunch and tun or burger for dinner as sanjak I have a little cheddar or mozzarella cheese w butter some times and I used olive oil and coconut oil.

I wonder if you are getting enough calories ~ Are you hungry between meals? On Atkins 72 induction, you must eat when you're hungry, and stop when you're not.... Is your chicken skinless, your meat choices lean? That could also be part of the problem.... you need to make sure that you are getting enough fat in your diet

First of all Thanks for your reply, ya my chicken is skinless and the meat is lean I feel hungry sometimes and I got chedder cheese with butter or 2 fat bomb which is iced cube of coconut oil w butter & cocoa powder and stivia.before I started Atkins 72 I was eat some macadamia or almond also but it seems not allow now
Can you help me how can I increase my fat and is that OK even with my hypothyroid? And please can I know when can I eat coconut? And when can I add almond flour? Thanks again

No problem.... I do not know much about hypothyroid, so I cannot address that, but I would say you should eat as much as you are hungry for, not limit yourself, but eat only the foods in the plan for a week.... have dark meat chicken with the skin on, and enjoy a fatty cut of meat - rib-eye steak, pork steak, bacon... do not fear the fat.. Protein can act a lot like carbs when you cut out the fat. Have you had a chance to read Atkins 72? There is also a very neat book out called "Fat Fast Cookbook" - It gives a really great overview of why this process works. You can get a sample of the book on Amazon for kindle. The sample is pretty interesting reading and reinforces how and why the diet works. Best part is, you do not have to have a kindle to receive it, you can add a "reader" to your PC at no cost

Nimuea, thanks dear for helping I know I have to eat fat but I'm afraid little bit cause I'm hypothyroidism which make my body slow in metabolism and burn. I'll try to add some far

Atkins 72 only allows small portions of aged, hard cheese; may want to look at your cheese consumption. I tried the "new" induction with poor results, went on '72 and have lost 8 lbs in a week and a half.

I agree with OICU812, I'm doing A'72 (with daily kcals between 1200-1400 and 6 grams of carbs) and can't handle the cheese or the nuts -- they stall me or give me cravings for those toxic, poisonous carbs -- so I avoid them...

Headaches

Hi guys i am in day 3 of induction. I already have the metallic taste in my mouth and headaches (THIS IS TO BE EXPECTED I KNOW). I am only weighing myself on a weekly basis so no idea if anything is "working" yet. My one question is, i bought some paracetemol for my headaches today and upon reading the ingredients i discovered that it contains "potato starch". I was wondering is this would effect the atkins diet in anyway? They are 500mg parecetmol.

I have only been on induction for 6 days (restarted after a month) but I have not lost or gained a single pound. I know it has only been days, but I never stay the same... I use to always be up a few or down a few. Now its like the scale never moves.... is that normal? I know it has only been 6 days but I have been "low carbing" 4 weeks prior to restarting induction. So I expected at least to lose a pound or 2?

Hello everyone, this is my second time trying atkins and I am not losing weight as fast as I did the first time. I am not sure what I am doing wrong? The only thing different I am doing this time around is drinking fruit infused water. Is that okay for atkins induction? I am working out and eating the correct things. Any comments/suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

NSH123, Everytime I restart LC my body goes through a "not this again" phase and it gets more difficult to lose the weight each time. It does work though and takes persistence and dedication and eventually your body catches on.

I would say that the fruit infused water is adding carbs to your intake and if you can't drink plain water, try adding cucumbers and lemon or mint to your water to make it more palatable to you.

Hi, I'm new to boards but not new to Atkins. I don't see any fat in this menu - as crazy as it sounds, it takes fat to burn fat. If you want to lose weight with Atkins, I suggest you follow the direction to a T for 2 weeks - then see if you are losing.

Hang in there - we're all behind you, and most of us have been where you are. If you follow the plan, you WILL see weight loss. It may not be as quickly as you want, but it will happen. Also, have you taken your measurements? Your body can be losing fat and it's not showing on the scale yet. When cells release fat, they fill with water. They eventually release the water, and there's your weight loss.

Hello... I need some friends lol

My hubby found this site for me and I'm hoping I can get some help. I have been off work for 8 months due to sever migraines, we tried lots of treatments and I just had my first Botox injections ( All 31 of them) about a month ago. I'm not having as many bad days and even on my bad days the headaches aren't as bad. During the 8 months, I have also had to have liver surgery (February) to burn out a mass and my cholesterol went to 7.3. Then to add on to all this trouble, I got depressed and gained weight which didn't help any.

I started the "new" Atkins 2 weeks ago and I'm not losing any weight But I did loose about an inch in my waist. I pee on the sticks and on average I'm light to medium.

I also did the Candida test, Blue Topaz suggested and my spit sank like an anvil, so I'm positive for candida. I also just happen to have a Drs appointment today and when I brought this up she told me:" I wouldn't have it in my whole body as it is only found in my privates, if it was in my body I would be sick and in the hospital"... So I didn't get a prescription for nayastin (spelling?)

So do I just have to take a few table spoons of coconut oil a day and it should clear it or balance it out?

I just want to loose 30-40 lbs. I hate looking like this and in Dec my hubbies Grandmother is taking us on cruise.... I want to look good, I don't want to be the fat person on the cruise.

My hubby is supporting me and has even joined me on Atkins. He's losing a little weight and I'm not it's frustrating.

Please help.

DOnt give up,I started induction 1 month ago and have only lost 6 lbs, but even thought the scale did not budge for 3 weeks straight i just kept right on dooing it, if you truly are doing zero carb then dont question yourself,

Frustrated!!

Hello Everyone

I used this board years and and it was a tremendous help. Well I hope I can get the same help again.

So Iíve been on induction for about 3 weeks and was doing great. Lost 10 lbs (water weight Iím sure) and gained 3. Not itís been a week and 0 nada nothing. I havenít cheated at all profited and salads are my friend (in moderation). The last couple days I even switched to eating once a day (deviled eggs has been my choice) and nothing!!! Iím so frustrated I want to throw my scale out the window and watch a car truck and cow run all over it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Nixxon, everyone is different and our rates of loss vary greatly. Sometimes after a 10 lb loss you might experience a pause in weight loss but you may still be on track. It would help if you posted more details. Are you exercising? Are you on any meds that could impact this? What are you eating and at what portions? Calories matter, some respond negatively to artificial sweeteners, some are sensitive to too much salt, some canít handle too much dairy, etc. if you post more details we can try to help you figure out what might help.

This way of eating does work but weight loss often isnít a linear process. Many of us return to this way of eating after falling off the wagon and it can be harder if you have been on and off this way of eating many times. Age can matter too. I lost 50 lbs in 2012 and then fell off the wagon and it took me months longer this time to lose the same 50 lbs. This yearís journey is pasted below and I only had a few off plan meals. I definitely had the occasional carb creep or higher calorie days too. This way of eating does work but sometimes we have to tweak what we are doing until you find the magic formula for yourself.
