Herbed Baked Chicken

Herbed Baked Chicken
Stillman Support group message 2880 8/4/2002

21/2 lbs chicken
1 lemon, in halves
1/8 teaspoon crushed basil
1/8 teaspoon crushed thyme
salt and pepper to taste

In shallow baking pan squeeze ˝ lemon over chicken. Sprinkle with half the
herbs and season with salt and pepper. Cook @ 400 uncovered for 40 mins,
basting occasionally. Turn over, squeeze with rest of lemon and season with
salt and pepper and herbs. Bake another 30 minutes or until tender.

Ingredients
1 1/4 tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon kosher salt (If you are using TABLE salt only use 1 tbs)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano (Change this to SAGE for Chicken)
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1 tablespoons olive oil ****
1 (3 pound) sirloin tip roast

Directions
In a small bowl, mix the paprika, kosher salt, garlic powder, black pepper, onion powder, cayenne pepper, oregano, and thyme. Stir in the olive oil, and allow the mixture to sit about 15 minutes.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
Place the roast on the prepared baking sheet, and cover on all sides with the spice mixture.
Roast 1 hour in the preheated oven, or to a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees F (63 degrees C). Let sit 15 minutes before slicing.

Total Carbs per serving (8 oz) = 1

**** Right now I am omitting the olive oil and using this as a "dry" rub. Thus reducing the carbs and fats.......Sharon

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Ingredients
1 (6 pound) pork butt roast
1 1/2 tablespoons Hawaiian sea salt (Red or Black - I found it at Trader Joe's)
1 tablespoon liquid smoke flavoring

Directions
Pierce pork all over with a carving fork. Rub salt then liquid smoke over meat. Place roast in a slow cooker.
Cover, and cook on Low for 16 to 20 hours, turning once during cooking time.
Remove meat from slow cooker, and shred, adding drippings as needed to moisten.

Tastes just like the luau pig served in Hawaii. I like the Black salt better. The Hawaiian sea salt does NOT have the satly taste of regular table salt.

Bacon Mustard Pork Roast (0 Carbs)

Ingredients
1 (2 pound) boneless pork roast
3/4 cup prepared spicy mustard (I use Dijon)
10 slices bacon

Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Use a knife to cut shallow slits into the surface of the roast. Using 3/4 cup of mustard, brush half over the roast, then completely cover it with 10 strips of bacon; brush bacon with remaining mustard. Cook in preheated oven for 60 minutes until bacon is browned, or until meat thermometer inserted into thickest part of the pork reaches an internal temperature of 150 degrees F (65 degrees C).

Equal parts chicken broth and hot sauce, heated down into a reduction, makes a pretty decent buffalo sauce.

I'm trying to assemble as many Stillman legal condiment recipes as I can before I abandon my beloved mayo and butter.

Oooh, I just found out that someone on another Stillman's diet message board blended hard boiled eggs with stock, vinegar, and spices to make a dressing.

I wonder how a pudding made out of blended hard boiled egg whites and stevia would taste...

The yummy recipe you listed is a dessert can it be used for breakfast it has eggs and cottage cheese I think 90 cals.
