Hi Everyone!

I'm new to the forums. Just found them last week when looking for success stories relating to post-menopausal weight loss. My husband and I just finished a month of "clean" eating Paleo-style with <100 g carbs a day and exercise 4-5 days a week. We each lost 4 pounds even though we stuck to it perfectly, and immediately gained back 2 pounds. Frustrating.

Soooo, I'm ready to try the JUDDD program since my body is very good at adapting to any type of weight loss regimen, and I've tried a lot of them. During our month of low carb eating, I actually lost 5 pounds in the first three weeks then managed to gain a pound in the last week eating the exact same way. Great survival strategy if I was thin and starving, but that's obviously not the case.

I look forward to being with all of you on this journey and learning from those who've succeeded.

Hi all

I'm not new, I'm just restarting (again), am now the heaviest I've ever been, no excuses, I've just been eating what I liked and not doing anything about it. But now my hips hurt, I have permanent acid reflux, and I wear the same three outfits because nothing fits. I need to get a grip.

Wishing everyone a successful month!

Hi MrsSmith93! It can be tough doing a restart of any eating plan. Do you have any ideas on how to make it stick this time? I know for me checking in here and on different groups helps a lot. Glad you're here.

MrsSmith and Yameneko Great results all round from a lot of lovely people on these boards, I really hope you get the results you are looking for. I am another re-starter (originally lost 30lbs in Autumn 2012) hoping we can all help and support each other

Wishing you a fabulous day be it Up or Down!

Thank you. My plan is to check in here as often as possible, and to give myself a good talking to every time I'm wavering, I've always found it too easy to say 'stuff it' and give in, but nobody can make me do this except myself. I have to stop making excuses. Nobody put me in this position but me. So I'm the one that has to fix it. I'm the one that has to take control

Sorry so long

Hi everyone, I'm new to JUDDD...been lurking/creeping around for a while...lol I really need some help and inspiration. Being a chubby child/teen and weighing 165 by the time I was 12 led me to try just about every WOE there is (I think), Atkins, South Beach, WW, LC, LVC, HFLC, vegan, vegetarian, etc. I'd basically settled with Atkins/low carb and eventually nutritional ketosis since 1999. My highest non-pregnant weight was 185 and Atkins got me down to the 160's. Then I switched to veg + exercise and got down into the 140's, then started running + low carb and did that for approximately 10 years which brought me into the 120's. I thought low carb would keep me at my goal weight of 125, but much to my dismay my weight started creeping up around the summer of 2012 despite my stringent efforts of running and strict ketogenic dieting. I was feeling worse and worse with fatigue, hair falling out, depression and irritability and started seeing a chiropractor in the fall of 2012. I found I had stage 3 adrenal fatigue and hypothyroid. We started a boatload of supplements in an effort to heal me naturally, but I kept getting worse. My TSH levels went from 2.7 in 2012 to 3.5 in 2013 to 8.5 2 months ago. I don't know what role (if any) low carbing played in my endocrine issues, but when I was told I needed to add carbs I became very distressed and didn't want to do it. I just had reverse T3 tested too and it's way high - 42 - the normal range is 8-25. Anyway, the only reason I can see for this is my low carb WOE and a few weeks ago I begrudgingly began adding carbs on the advice of my endo (100-130 per day). I've been so discouraged about my weight gain since becoming hypothyroid..it's only 10-15 lbs but still sucks as many of my clothes do not fit and I am constantly tired and irritable. I am now on meds.. levothyroxine and cytomel.. have been about 5 weeks but not seeing much of a difference in the way I feel. I found JUDDD a couple of weeks ago, read the book, and decided to start this past Monday. I am down a few pounds and excited to see where it takes me. I need support of others and hope to gain inspiration from those who have been successful.

DL. I was doing JUDDD (and down about 40 pounds) when I was diagnosed hypo. I went on to lose almost another hundred pounds with JUDDD (135 total, got down to 142 at one point, but I've gained a few back). It can be done, even with endocrine issues. I never did well on low carb, and actually lost better, more steadily, and faster or at the same pace with JUDDD as I did with low carb, and didn't have that sense of deprivation I got with Atkins. I think I needed the carbs, so maybe your doc is on to something. Best of luck!

I definitely feel better on the days I stick with high carb, low fat. However, I generally want carbs and fat!

well so far I am doing really well with the DD. The only thing I have noticed is I am slightly angry...tho not from restricted food on DD and I am eating the things I crave on UD I am guessing its just the transition my body is going through just having strange emotions flaring up out of no where. I am sure it will pass.

how is your journey going?

Here goes...

Hey everyone!

I started Atkins in February and did well at first but stalled out completely after about 6 weeks and actually started to gain even with total adherence ...

I knew I had a bridal shower coming up for my future sister-in-law so I decided to basically fast on Saturday so that I could indulge on Sunday - I ended up eating a fair share of carbs (mostly good carbs but a few bad ones thrown in just for fun) and couldn't believe how much better I felt! Not to mention my weight was DOWN!!!

So here I am thinking that I'm so smart to have stumbled on to this idea all by myself... haha! I started researching and I found the JUDD diet! I couldn't believe it, it was basically what I was already doing without even knowing it!

Now on my second DD and feeling good! Excited to get started

Hi Everyone!!! I started JUDDD right after the holidays.. It is now March 20th and even though I lost a little weight I think I stalled and may have gained a pound or two.

Any suggestions as to what I can do to get off a stall? I should probably add I only need to lose about 20 lbs and I know the last 20 are always the hardest.

I really do not work out that much so I'm assuming working out would help??

Welcome Srahjayne best wishes in your journey, I am on day 16. The scale bounced today but my clothes are sure making a difference.
Not sure about stalling yet as I haven't had one yet.
But like most of what I have read everyone says its a downward trend.
