Hey everyone... been missing the past week (I know) but, my knee has been swollen.

So, I've concluded that running on the treadmill is not my friend (just too much pressure pounding on my knee so, I am just going to have to settle for walking at inclines and rotating with speed).

Bummer... but, I'm back at it tomorrow.

Thanks! I used to a daily exerciser....biking, weights, walking and kettlebells. Then a couple of years ago I had some health issues that prevented me from exercising so I'm back to beginner level. I joined this group originally back when it first started and am happy to be back to exercising even if for now it's only a fraction of what I used to do! I'm building back up and I'm hoping that within the year I'll feel like me again!

PT this afternoon was really hard....but in a good way. I'm going to be sore tomorrow but I have to say that the soreness is so much more welcome than the pain I had in the past!

Hi Everyone,

I walk outside and on the treadmill, try to walk at least 10,000 steps a day. I use a FitBit to keep track of my steps. I've been sidetracked lately and trying to get back on the wagon.

I feel so much better when I walk, mentally and physically. Walking also helps with some persistent back pain due to stiff muscles and fascia.

May I join you?

welcome eliza. i eat alot of organic and pretty much low carb. but i dont measure and count carbs. my carbs come mainly from fruits and at times subway. lots of greens and veggies and i do like veggie bugars. i walk also as u most likly have read. i have a fit bit too. been hitting 15,000 or very close. i also like green smoothies but have not made in while. through i had one when we went to whole foods. i like their tofu egg salad. do come in when u can. i think it helps to have weight loose buiddies ab nd walking buddies or other exersicing we do. yes easier to be fat and un healthy. i need to hit harder on calaries. hope to lose 2to 3 lbs this month.

Welcome, Eliza!

I've been keeping up with my PT exercises as much as I can. Took the weekend off due to a trip to visit our son and family. I did get some walking as well as some going up and down stairs while we were there. Plus lots of fun with the granddaughters...that was the best part!

I have a PT session this afternoon so I'll get a good workout!

Hi. every one.
Went to the Ymca.
Did my 8 mile walk.
It sure is getting easier and easier to walk 8 miles.{In fact. I bet I could do 8.5 miles and feel not to drained. But For now Im going to staywith 8 miles.
In April, I will add at least 1 day a week to try the stair climmer. But will try climber
at the easier number and go from there. My first hiking is not till first week of Aug. so should have time. and I hope to have 12lbs off by then.
How is every one doing?
It seems the older we get the harder it gets. But hey<Dont you feel better with trying and getting it done. I know I feel great. Age means living.

Eliza!!!! Glad to have you on board, there's always room for another TM Buddy! It's been some time since I posted, very busy around here, but keeping up with my workouts on a daily basis. I've been drinking quite a bit of water and almost at my goal of 1,200 oz of water during the month. So, the personal Water Challenge has helped me hydrate!

Fri, 3/11 - rest day
Sat, 3/12 - DVD - Shaun T's Rockin Body Party Express
Sun, 3/13 - rest day
Mon, 3/14 - 15 min, Shaun T Insanity session
Tues, 3/15 - 30 min Shaun T Fat Burning Cardio
Wed, 3/16 - rest day
Thurs, 3/17 - Shaun T Fat Burning Cardio

Good job, ladies! Yes, Kind, the older we get, the harder it does get. I love Eliza's words, "pick your hard." I'd rather be healthy, so I want to stay on plan to live a longer life.

Will check back later!

Ladylove, I'm glad that you're still able to do a little walking on the TM. My right knee is giving me a little trouble; it's hard for me to step up on outside staircases. I walk with an incline at 5.0, speed at 3.0 to 3.3 (I've come down from 3.5) just in case that's irritating it. I will be getting it checked out. But I was told to keep it moving and that's the best thing for it. Keep up the good work.

Linda, I'm so happy to know that you are on the move again. Kind and Eliza, you ladies are on the move as well! Great job, everyone!

I've just finished my TM walk for today:

Fri, 3/18 - 41:01 mins, 2.17 miles, 338 cals.

Since I am on deadline to fill a diaper cake order to be shipped out, and do some cleaning for guests this evening, I will forgo my Shaun T dvd workout this morning. Maybe I can fit it in over the weekend.

Have a great weekend, TM Buddies!

Del - you are right moving helps because then it doesn't get so sore and stiff up on me.
But, it's doing so much better !

I missed posting last week (busy work week on the road so, I'm going to just pick up with this week) although I did exercise but, didn't keep up with my stats.

Monday - March 21 - 45 min. treadmill (no incline but, picking up speed).

Welcome aboard Eliza ! - great group of folks here... you'll love it !

Looks like everyone is doing a great job... keep it up ! Spring is finally here (although our weather still says winter... with snow coming tomorrow).

Hi, TM Buddies! I had the craziest last two weeks -- WOW! It took me away, but I did try to keep up with my stats, plus I did a Water Challenge with my friends and ended at drinking about 1700 oz. of water for the month, which is great for me.

Today, I worked out with Shaun T's Rockin Body DVD - Dance Party for 42 mins. Woo, what a work out!

I will put my stats up later on once I gather them together - I have them written down in my daily calendar book and my tablet.

I am so proud of everyone. Despite whatever is going on in our lives, we are still pushing forward. It's so good to see everybody still posting!

Have a great day and will check back later!

I was gone for about 10 days for vacation. Lots of walking and doing stairs. I can't believe I was able to do as much as I did although I did start to fizzle out toward the end of the vacation.

Yesterday was a PT session so I worked hard there, too. My question to my therapist was if it was better to work on speed or time on the treadmill. I can go longer if I go a little slower. She said to go for time and that speed will come as I get stronger again.

Nothing today yet but I plan to do my at home exercises in a little while.

Hello All! I am back to getting serious after a long time away. I do yoga sometimes but I have to step it up and I already have a treadmill in my basement. So... here I am! I look forward to running and walking with you all!

I had another good PT session yesterday. We're cutting down to once a week instead of twice. I have next week and the week after and then I should be done. I'll continue to do all the exercises at home along with treadmill and basement biking. Waiting for the weather to get better so I can start walking and riding my outdoor bike! It's snowing here today!

Thank you all for the warm welcome

I've had trouble restarting my walking program. My hubs was diagnosed with cancer in September and since then I've been struggling with keeping my head in the walking/staying LC game. These are some emotional times.

But I keep trying and I promise I'll walk my 10 K steps today.

Hope everyone is doing great
