Welcome, Kate and thanks!

Thanks, Cindy....another set back that I will get through as always.

I did a little walking today...not enough to count as exercise but movement at least. I'll see the dr. tomorrow and go from there.

Thanks, Kissa! Keep up the good work as well. Hey, TM Buddies! No workout today - I am resting. Three of my friends came over yesterday (one in the morning; two others in the afternoon), and we worked out together for a few hours. So, I am relaxing today but will pick up tomorrow.

Linda, oh my goodness...so sorry to hear about your mishap. Take it easy and heal. Don't overdo anything. Feel better.

Kate - glad to have you on board.

Will post more of my stats during the next few days.

Thanks guys!

Today was weight lifting day, so it was a circuit of Nautilus machines, which I'm glad to say I had to bump up in weight almost universally from when I started a month ago. (Except for my soggy triceps. Man, they need some pumping.)

I feel pretty awesome, energetic and ready to step up once a few more pounds come off and I can avoid injury.

Anyone else working out today? I hit the gym for cardio today. Tomorrow is Tai Chi.

Elliptical: 10 minutes

Treadmill: 20 minutes at 1.0 incline/2.0 speed

Bike: Another mile on 2 resistance. Gotta watch the knees and I'd rather spend the time on the Elliptical which works everything.

So, what are you all doing? WERK IT WITH ME!

Hey, Kissa and Kate! Great job on your workouts! Keep it up - I get motivated just reading my TM Buddy posts! Kate, I have to get back to my TM, it's been a while - my hubby has been on it a lot more, though. He's lost 10 lbs. last month and I am so proud of him - he also walks between 10,000 to 20,000 steps during the day. So, we're on the move - I just have to post regularly - I have another group of friends who daily text me about their accomplishments as well during the day!

I worked out on Monday with my friends and scheduled being off since then to recuperate and because of a huge baby shower package project that requires early morning into evening hours, when I was off this week and early morning before work.

So, I am scheduled today to work out with my friends today (either afternoon/evening), then must catch up over the weekend and get back to my normal routine.

Here's more stats for my April into May workouts:

Mon, 4/18 - 15 to 20 mins of Shaun T's Rockin Body - Dance Party (1/3 segment)
Tues, 4/19 - 20 mins Shaun T's Hips Buns & Thighs dvd, arm curls with 5 lb weights
Thurs, 4/21 - 30 mins, Leslie Sansone - Walk Away the Pounds (3 mile) dvd - walked 2 miles
Sat, 4/23 - 42 mins, Shaun T's Rockin Body - Dance Party
Mon, 4/25 - 42 mins Shaun T's Rockin Body - Dance Party
Tues, 4/26 - 20 mins Shaun T's Hips Buns & Thighs dvd
Thurs, 4/28 - 30 mins Shaun T's Fat Burning Cardio dvd
Fri, 4/29 - 42 mins Shaun T's Rockin Body - Dance Party with 1 friend
Sat, 4/30 - 2 hours, Line Dance (learning sequence) - YouTube instructions
Sun, 5/1 - 1 hour, Line Dance (continued learning sequence) - YouTube instructions
Mon, 5/2 - 1 hour, Line Dance in early afternoon - 1 friend; 1 1/2 hour combination Line Dance and Shaun T's Rockin Body - Dance Party with 2 friends

I've been resting since Monday (my knees and calves really felt it) and I've been working on my project.

I can't remember whether I posted this, but since March, I've lost 7 inches off the body - even though I haven't seen the scale move. But, I'll take that! Will check back later! Have a great day!

Del, you and me both, I didn't measure except for my waist, but 2.5 inches off in one month!

All but 4 pair of my pants/jeans are fitting well once more. I have been following the 8 week Blood Sugar Cure, but the energy it has given me has made me love my workouts again. and it all pays off.

Lovely to have this board to report in to. We have been here a long time.

Yes, Kissa, it's great to report into here! I just have to become more consistent because I do keep up with my workouts. What is the Blood Sugar Cure? That sounds interesting; I've got to look it up. I'm glad that your pants are fitting. I can't wait until I can say that. I'm happy you've lost inches as well!!! Good job!!!

What awesome work, guys! Love hearing about everyone's moving and grooving.

It's been raining here like crazy for a WEEK and my body is wracked with pain from the dampness. (Ah, to be old, so wonderful. So it was just a mile on the stationary bike today. I might try a workout video if I'm ambitious but my body is saying "Yeah, no."

LOL, have a great weekend everyone. You've got to move it, move it!

Del, it is actually called the 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet by Michael Mosley.

Kate, Del and I leave you standing on the age front, lol. Sorry you are aching!

Well, no exercise yet but I'm planning on starting back slowly on Monday. I should be able to do my physical therapy exercises although maybe not as many as I was doing before. Not sure I'm ready to do the stairs to get to the recumbent bike. That may wait one more week but I'll make that decision on Monday.

Still swollen and very sore but it's getting better a little bit every day. Still using the cane for stability most of the time. I'm just happy the fall wasn't worse than it was!

LOL, Kissa. I just turned 50 so I'm still "OMG, I'M OLD." I'm sure I won't think that in a few years.

I'm glad to hear you're getting better, Mama. I'll be sending you healing vibes during my meditation today.

I might do an exercise tape inside today (I like Jane Fonda's "Walk It Out" for low-energy days.) Gotta see if my joints will cooperate. IT'S RAINING AGAIN. Seriously, it's been around 10 days of it now. It's horrible. My hip feels like an elephant stepped on it.

Have a great exercise day today! May those in sunny climes get out and enjoy it for me.

Walking around a great garden in the north of the county today. Perfect day.

Body Combat tomorrow.

So pleased you are starting to heal Linda.

And yes Kate, you will look back at 50 fondly in 20 years, lol.

Just a slow, easy 2 miles on the stationary bike today. Sciatica kicked in over the weekend and the pain was enough to make my eyes cross. The exercise helped so tomorrow I'll push back a little ... maybe work on some stretches.

Going to be kind to me and say "Hey, you did great!" even though I'm still waiting to kick into that hardcore sweaty workout without wrecking myself.

How is everyone? Are we WERKING it?

Hey Kate, you did great. Better than me, I went to a Combat Class and quit 1/2 way through, I just couldn't get motivated. Not like me at all.

Zumba tomorrow though, and I always love that.

Hey, 1/2 a Combat is better than none.

The pain in my leg was so bad this morning, I made a quick trip to the doctor and he ruled out sciatica but said I definitely pulled a hamstring (which I now understand why athletes roll around and cry when they pull one. OUCH.) Thanks, thyroid disease for making my tendons nice and brittle, I appreciate that.

HOWEVER, the stationary bike makes it feel better so I did a couple of gentle miles and I did the upper body weight machines, getting in a good 40 minutes. I feel pretty good and energetic after that so I'm happy with what I was able to do.

Hope everyone is moving and grooving and picking things up before putting them down.

Still around...I'm very slowly improving. Don't need the cane much anymore which is good although I still have it handy just in case. I was able to get downstairs and do a little bit of recumbent bike pedaling yesterday for about 8 minutes....did one mile. Not ready to do it daily yet. Tonight I'll attempt my at home PT leg exercises.

Sorry about the leg pain, Kate...hope it goes away soon! I see you are post RAI....me, too. Not as long ago as you...only a year and a few months for me.

Skipped the gym Wednesday to take care of the leg, it's almost completely better today and I walked through the city taking in some sights, plenty of walking there.

Tomorrow, back to the gym and will, I guess discover which machine did me in. Will try treadmill first (I hope it's this one, hate the treadmill.)

Zumba for me today too Kissa... (my favorite instructor was there today so, that made class really fun).

Kind - what do you use in your green smoothies?

Lady,
I use so many kinds of things. I use greens, Diff. kinds. 2-3 hand fulls.
ThenI use 1cup of almond or cashew milk. Un sweetend.

Chia or hemp seeds. I have also put n sweetpeas. .5c or eye ball it.
and On fruits, I use small frozen banana,
mixed fruits, any thing usally lower in sugars. Blue berries, mellons,Also at times pb2 peanut butter.@ times yogurt.{Matcha tea is great to. Whey protein.1 scoop.
But like i said all depends on recipes.

You just have to play.
Just depends on what type of green smoothie recipes.
There are some really great ones. and even chia puddy is great.

and I use avacos.1/4 slice for added good fats.

This recipe I got from whole foods {Juice bar,
Hawaii5.0
spinch, mango, pineapple, banana, kiwi, coconut water or almond milk or cashewmilk unsweetenten.
Green small banans have less sugar and freeze.

berry, banana blast,
mixed berries .5or1 cup.
Banana, almond milk or your choice. Always unsweetened.

Thanks for the well wishes, LL! And I love the idea of putting sweetpeas in a smoothie, Kind.

I went back to the gym on Friday and of course, I did the one thing I never did, turn around on the treadmill to wave goodbye to a gym friend who gave me a birthday card. THIS IS A BAD IDEA. I almost ended up doing a split ... but I saved myself, sort of, with the emergency brake. *shakes head* I'm either a moron or just hate that treadmill so much I'd rather die than go on it. (Or the curse of Friday the 13th.)

Anyway, I didn't hurt myself badly, thank God. I just did the bike and the upper body weights and that's good enough for my week in the gym. I take weekends off so on Monday, I'll start fresh. I hope.

Still doing mostly nothing. My foot is just a little achy but my knee/leg still too sore to do much. No need for the cane and barely limping but still not quite ready for exercise.

Glad you didn't get hurt bad on the treadmill, dbkate! If I were you I'd find something I like better than the treadmill. No fun exercising if you don't like what you're doing!

to Everyone Else! Hope all is well with everyone!

Glad to hear the foot is better! Hope the rest follows soon.

Thanks and yeah, I usually do the elliptical but that's what got my hamstring in a bind, so I'm stuck on the treadmill and bike for fat burning for the time being. I had a good workout on it today, 20 minutes on the treadmill, 20 on the bike and a series of upper body weights. I feel pretty good!

Believe it or not, I'm not a fan of exercising in general but my physical and mental health declines precipitously when I don't, so hi-ho-hi-ho it's off to the gym I go, lol.

How's everyone else doing? ARE WERKING IT???

I walk outside rather than treadmill, although I can do it if I am watching rubbish TV, lol.

I won't get many gym workouts this week as 'life' is interfering but I am determined to get my 10,000 steps in every day.

I saw my gaol number 126 (+.5) for the first time in over 3 years. I am feeling very smug.
