Old Timer Back Again

Good morning,

I've been LC for more years than I care to admit. I first found LCF when I was dealing with problems with my Crap Band. At my lowest, I got down to 250, but after an unfill (FINALLY - I'd been begging for one for YEARS) and time for the damage to my esophagus to heal, I bounced up to 271.

In December 2014, I had a Revision to a Duodenal Switch. The first several months were horrific as I couldn't keep anything down and had a lousy gall bladder. After a month in the hospital and four weeks on TPN via a PICC line, my system finally started cooperating again.

While my long term goal is 149 or lower, I've discovered that I feel pretty amazing at 162.

I take a good multi vitamin every day; calcium; zinc; magnesium; copper; iron; B12; Folate; Thiamin; a multi B and dry D, A, E, K1 and K2. In addition, I have 2-3 protein shakes a day for a supplemental 60g protein a day

I'm back because I need to find ways to keep the sugar monster at bay and LCF always had really good options, opinions and ideas.

Wow, you've been through alot! The great results sure make it worth it, i bet. I battle the sugar monster daily! Sometimes a substitute like a lc mug cake works, sometimes it creates more cravings but i do know that the longer i'm strict about what i eat (very close to induction), the less sugar cravings i have. I still want the stuff, mentally but the actual, physical sugar cravings are gone. So the score is- Me:1 sugar monster:0!! He can be beat and it sounds like if anyone can do it you can! Best wishes.

You must be a very determined lady to make it through all that and come out where you want to be on the other side. I am de carbing right now because I went beyond the good carbs that I can usually manage like oatmeal, beans, sweet potatoes etc and dabbled too much with the devil type carbs. Always looking for inspiration too.

I don't really crave sweets. I used to have a huge tooth for chocolate but that disappeared several years for no apparent reason. It will still come back if I eat much chocolate but I can steer clear of it. For some reason Atkins and other chocolate shakes don't make the cravings return. Weird.

There is a thread on the Main Lobby about all of us old timers returning and there are a lot of us!
