Hi Joy!

I was here awhile back but stopped posting for whatever reason. Probably because it wasn't very active and I was in a bunch of support groups. It was overwhelming trying to be in all of them. Now a few months in, I'm liking the smaller groups more. And to be honest, a lot of the group elsewhere are just drama, drama, drama.

I'm sorry your trip didn't go as planned.

Checking in.
Finished my 5th week of half marathon training. Progress seems slow because I messed up my knee by running downhill on concrete the second week
Silly me. It's better now. That said, the health app still shows that my distance walked/ran is up for the last two months (I started walking more a week before the base training started).

Checking in. I'm on day 9 of a 10 day trip to Boston. We had lobster last night, and as I finished my lobster tail my daughter said good protein Mom . They know the drill.

Hi all, checking in!
I had foot surgery 1 month ago, and just when it got all healed, last week I found out I have a slipped disc in my lower back. Needless to say, walking for exercise has been out of the question for quite some time. I'm still doing ok, though, watching calories, protein, etc.

Jesse... Boston is one place I'd love to visit some day!

Chrystee: Good luck on your follow up and consult! What plastics are you getting done?

Tine: welcome back!

Marypose: sorry about your injury; you're still doing great!

Connie: Glad you're back!!! Sorry about your upsetting visit

3 day egg fast, hmmm. Just eggs? Glad to hear it had such satisfying results .

Back from my 10 day vacation. Yesterday made the rounds to several grocery stores to stock up on all my provisions. Feels good to get back to my more structured way of eating. I am going add a protein shake back into my eating plan. I usually hit the minimum of 60 grams of protein recommended by my clinic, but it looking at the trends in my bloodwork, I think I should have more. I'm going to shoot for 90 for awhile and see if that boosts my energy. How many grams of protein do you all shoot for?

Guess who's back on the 3-day egg fast? I did so well on it, only to end up making poor choices once I got off it.... it was the week of our annual fair, and I couldn't resist getting some kettle corn and roasted almonds. I ate too much of both before finally closing them up and putting them in my daughters room for HER to eat! LOL! I gained back half what I lost So I'm at it again.
And this time, when I'm done, its' back to my yogurt, protein shakes and meat. I HAVE to make this the year I get to the -100 pound mark!! And I'm only 20 pounds away!!
Go me!!!!

And I hope everyone else is doing well!!!

Wendy do you just eat eggs on your egg fast? Any protein supplements? Green veggies? How many eggs do you end up eating a day?

Here is some information, Jesse:

1. Bullet Proof Coffee within 30 minutes of waking (coffee with 1 Tbsp MCT oil, 1 Tbsp Kerrygold unsalted butter)
2. Eat 3-5 meals of at least 2 eggs each, starting no later than 10am
3. Have 1 Tbsp of butter or sugar free mayo per egg consumed
4. 6 ounces of full fat cheese (cream cheese, cheddar, brie, etc.) allowed per day (eaten with eggs or separately as a snack)
5. No eggs after 7pm (1 string cheese allowed after 7pm if starving, counts as part of the 6oz daily limit)
6. Don’t go more than 4 hours between meals or snacks between 10am and 7pm.
7. Drink 100 oz of water per day (minimum)
8. Supplement with magnesium and potassium (lite salt) daily.
9.Small amounts of fresh herbs, hot sauce, no carb sweeteners, and spices will be allowed – as long as they are less than 1g net carbs per serving, not to exceed 5g net carbs per day.

I just made myself some scrambled eggs for my breakfast, made with 1 tbs cream cheese and 1 tbs butter per egg, then for lunch I made a recipe called Snickerdoodle Crepes:

For the crepes:
6 eggs
5 oz cream cheese, softened
1 tsp cinnamon
1 Tbsp granulated sugar substitute (Splenda, Swerve, Ideal, etc.)
butter for frying
For the filling:
8 Tbsp butter, softened
⅓ cup granulated sugar substitute
1 Tbsp (or more) cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS
Blend all of the crepe ingredients (except the butter) together in a blender or magic bullet until smooth. Let the batter rest for 5 minutes. Heat butter in a nonstick pan on medium heat until sizzling. Pour enough batter into the pan to form a 6 inch crepe. Cook for about 2 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional minute. Remove and stack on a warm plate. You should end up with about 8 crepes.

Meanwhile, mix your sweetener and cinnamon in a small bowl or baggie until combined. Stir half of the mixture into your softened butter until smooth.
To serve, spread 1 Tbsp of the butter mixture onto the center of your crepe. Roll up and sprinkle with about 1 tsp of additional sweetener/cinnamon mixture.

Then for dinner I'd have either a couple of fried eggs with a slice of America cheese on top, or some more snickerdoodle crepes, or more scrambled eggs.

For snacks, I had about 1/2 ounce of mild cheddar cheese, as needed.

You can do this from 2-7 days, but most people do at least 3 days. This time I might quit at 2, not sure yet. We'll see how things go.

I just have to remember, after I'm done, to continue eating healthy, instead of rewarding myself after the great weight loss by eating bad food!!

If you do this, pm me, I'll try to help you through it if you want.

Possibly:

Neck lift, lipo arms, 360 body lift, and breast lift.

all depends on what insurance pays for.

I hope so too, but I am really nervous.. I'm getting a LOT of attention lately, and my husband keeps saying that it will get even worse once I get my body done. LORD!

Just checking in. Enjoying the summer, and I've been taking advantage of the heat by swimming a lot. This spring I resolved to stop caring about my truly destroyed thighs and bought a swimsuit without a skirt for the first time in 25 years. What liberation! I love, love, love to be in the water, but I never knew how cumbersome and frankly irritating that skirt was until it was no longer slapping against me every time I got out of the water. Hurray for the freedom to live how I want to live. If you don't like the sight of my wrinkley, saggy thighs, then look away!

You may as well rename it to summer

I'm still trying to lose 20 more pounds, and I know I'll get there eventually. For motivation, I made another before/after collage:

Me front compare 080816.jpg

Me 080917.jpg

I'll look at this as much as possible, always telling myself that once I lose that 20 pounds, those rolls will more than likely go away!!

Does anyone else have progress pics?

Just checking in. Summer is winding down, and school is calling. I love that teaching can be rewarding and meaningful work, but also allows for time off to refuel and reflect. So I've been making good use of my summer and the freedom my sleeve has given me. I was at a vineyard wedding last week and I wore a floaty, floral print. I got lots of compliments, but my favorite was a woman who told me, next to the bride you're wearing the prettiest dress here Now that was debatable, but for sure, 4 years ago whatever large black dress I would've worn would not have received such a compliment. In my best case scenario, it would have been unnoticeable and garnered no attention at all. Feeling pretty and confident on a beautiful summer day in a beautiful setting to witness a most beautiful ceromony ~ another reason I my sleeve.

I am not a big fan of protein shakes, but I do l like the rtd premier protein (chocolate, don't really like the vanilla). In a quest to up my protein, I have been blending a chocolate shake with a 1/4 of a banana, a tablespoon of pb2 (peanut butter powder) and some ice. Very refreshing and filling. I just bought a pack of the caramel flavored ones and they taste pretty good too. I added some to coffee and it was pretty yum. I'm thinking about using it make a cold coffee drink like a caramel frappe. Or maybe add some canned pumpkin and cinnamon and blend with ice? If anyone has any other ideas for high protein, low carb smoothies, I'd love to hear them

How is everyone? Sorry, I have been absent. I ran my second half marathon last Sunday, and improved my time by 7 minutes. Not as good as I wanted, however, we um.. had a lot to drink the night before. HAHA.

My next half is coming up on September 18th in Philly!

This has been the best summer of my life.. lots of changes in our lives too.

10 pounds to go for goal!
