Hi All,

Here's the exercise/movement thread for all of you on an Intermittent Fasting WOL.

We can post here what kind of movement we did, whether it was in a fasting state or not and general observations relating to fasting and exercising!

Happy moving everyone!

I don't have a plan as such for myself, but I want to incorporate more movement during the day.

I go for a walk three times a day with our dog, but sit around at my desk all day, so I feel I am negating all the good that I do by walking.

My plan for this week is to stand for 2 hours at least throughout the day, go for a midday lunchtime walk and to hop on my rebounder when I get up in the morning and when I get home from work in the evening...

So far, Monday and Tuesday worked out with my more movement plan, now I've got to keep it up for this week! Watch this space....

Hi kwerp!

I watched this great documentary called The Big Fat Fix Movie, and they not only make a case for the mediterrannean diet (LCHF) but also for movement and intermittent fasting.

It kind of motivated me to incorporate more movement into my day.

I'm joining!!

At night I typically just do whatever exercises I feel like doing.
Right now my routine looks about like this:

100-200 leg pulses each side
100 standing leg pulses
100 crunches (callan style)
100 toe taps
100 waist bends each side
100 arm pulses
Various curls with 3 pound weights on arms
50 leg lifts (lie on back and alternate raising legs)
25 kick backs
50 leg in front of other twists. Unsure what the name of this exercise is but basically you lie on your back, put your legs up and alternating crossing at the ankle, back and forth.

and I try to go up and down the stairs in my house atleast 10x a day

Mimosa, thanks for starting this thread!

Hey Katie and Kwerp!

I do resistance training at the gym or at home three times a week and do yin yoga (basically where you hold passive pastures for a longer period of time 3-5 minutes) to keep my lower body/hips from getting too tight three times a week. I also do an easy UB stretching routine every morning, and when I can, do about 7 of the Bikram yoga postures.

I don't do cardio anymore

I don't do cardio either, unless I feel like it.
I have a bellydance youtube video that is nice, light cardio that I have fun doing. I try that once in a while.

I do cardio, but the elliptical the resistance is up, so it's working muscles and giving me a cardio workout. My thigh muscles and arms are killing me. The rowing machine falls in the same way. I'm not a cardio junkie - I've given up running and low-resistance cycling/ ellipticals.

Hi kwerp, Partyof8 and BBB!

Well done on moving!

Yesterday during my standing up at work I did compound movements to increase my standing up time quality:

30 calf raises
20 squats
20 butterflies 3 times
20 arm tighteners (no other way to describe, it's a T-tapp move)
neck stretches
waist stretches

I did this four times yesterday and managed to do two sets of hoe downs (T-tapp move) twice secretly in our bathroom at work, LOL! Bit strange coming out of the bathroom with a red face from exertion, LOL!

I also managed a 30 minute brisk walk at lunchtime and my two 15 minute rebounder sessions at home.

As luck and physics would have it, I gained 4 pounds on the scales, LOL, but I feel better for doing much more! So no looking at scales for now, just checking the inches instead.

Today I have the same plan, and I intend to 'rest' on the weekends, where walking our dog and gardening should suffice for movement!

Have a good day and keep up the moving!

xxx

Hi!

Partyof8, I love T-tapp, got tons of her DVD's gathering dust, but they are really effective and I should dust them off and give them and myself a good workout!

kwerp, sounds like you have a great plan!

I managed my weekday routine (is it becoming one already, LOL) again yesterday, and will repeat today again. Then 'rest' for the weekend. We have lots of gardening to do and of course our doggie needs exercising as well so I will not be sitting around! No weightloss to report, I am sure that the extra movement is stalling the scales, but like I said, inches are where it's at!

If I don't check in again, have a fabulous weekend!!!!!!

Morning all!

Well, new week, new moves!

On the weekend I spent time gardening and sorting out my wardrobes (oh dear!) so lots of time on my feet...

Today I will do my movements during my work day and have already walked the dog once this morning. I parked two levels lower in our garage at work and took the stairs up, thought that would help too!

Have a good start to the week!

those are great ways to get more activity Mimosa!
Love it.

I have been really sick today, but I did manage 200 leg lifts each side.
I'm going to do this for a week and then go up to 300.
My other exercises I will start again tomorrow, hopefully I am feeling better.

Katie, well done on exercising! Maybe give yourself a break until you feel better though! Hope your illness passes quickly!

I managed to do my intended exercises, but my intended fast was cut short by 18 hours, which I think is because of TOM! Oh well, 24 hours is nothing to sneeze at!

Today I am adding in some yoga. I'll do my DVD when I get home tonight. I just feel like doing something different. All other movement will stay the same as yesterday!

Hi, All.
I hit my goal of 135 about a month ago. I haven't abandoned LCF, but I don't post much. I just don't feel qualified to answer a lot of the questions being put forth.

I have chosen the mini trampoline as my form of exercise at this time. I like it so much better than anything I've tried before, so that is a good sign as far as keeping it up as a daily exercise activity. I do also some exercise band strength training a couple of times a week, but nothing regimented, just whatever I feel like doing for however long I feel like it. HA!

So, I began Saturday 7/30 actually committed to a daily routine and at this point am shooting for 30 minutes/day.

After experimenting with every fasting protocol available I have settled into OMAD/1HR. EW/LCHF but am working on upping my carbs for hormonal reasons, although it seems to be quite the juggling act: insulin/thyroid/fasting/macros/not eating at night (my most powerful nemesis) and exercising to name a few of the juggling balls in the air throughout each and every day.

Maintenance definitely is a new learning curve. Contrary to what we tell ourselves
It is no picnic, but I don't want to leave it, that's for sure! My plan is to maintain at 135 until after 1st of year, then possibly set a new 5 lb goal. Will make that decision then after evaluating results of the next 5 months.
So,
Mini trampoline/rebounder:
7/30-30 min.
7/31-42 min.
8/1-30 min.
8/2-10 min. (so far)

You are all a great inspiration to me. I learn something each and every day that I visit here. I wouldn't know what to do without you. Everyone here is in my prayers daily for your success and happiness.
(Having a problem changing my weight on siggy, I'll figure it out later.

Hi kwerp, BBB, Sharon and Katie!

Sharon, I see you are a rebounder too! Love rebounding! I really enjoy it and it doesn't feel like 'exercise' to me. I just have fun! I treated myself to a Bellicon rebounder about 5 years ago and I have to say it was worth the money. Congratulations on reaching your goal!!!!

Katie, hope today is a better day for you.

kwerp, do you have an elliptical machine at home? I can't face going to the gym, but something like an elliptical machine would be good to have... Maybe one day I'll get one if I know for sure I won't use it as a clothes stand, LOL!

BBB, how are you?

Today I'll do my usual movement at work in my office (so nice I can close my door, LOL! And I'm hopping on my rebounder for a little longer this evening because this morning I felt like sleeping a little longer.

Yep, I do have one at home. A lot of people go for the cheapest design they can afford, which is often a rear-wheel trainer - where the wheel is behind the person. This actually puts extra strain on the knees. DH and I shelled out for a front wheel machine over a year ago. It makes some squeaks, but with the tv on, I don't pay much attention. DH wanted the rowing machine, but I'm the only one who uses either!

Morning all!

Katie, how are you today? Hope you feel somewhat better than yesterday!
I find drinking salted bone broth very comforting when I'm sick, and the additional nutrition in the stuff is certainly a booster as well! Our grandmothers can't have been wrong in that, LOL! Get well soon!

Today I am fasting so I did my morning rebounding but will take it easy on the exercise. I am going for a minimum 48 hour fast, aiming for 72 hours, so we'll see how I go...
