What is your top one keto food?

I know it will be hard but try to name your very first - top rated - most important keto food. We know that there a plenty of amazing keto foods but in this thread, let's try to name just the top thing that keeps you happy and carrying on!

I will start and probably to those that are familiar with me, won't be surprised - I would name my #1 food as KETO COFFEE. I know this is actually more than 1 food but I am looking at is as a finished product.

What is yours?

"bacon and eggs"

I consider them one thing because they go so well together.

Eggs for me. I'm one of those rare people who never tire of them. There are so many great ways to fix them. An hb egg always gets me through when I'm feeling I HAVE to eat something.

Heavy cream for me with out a doubt.

Coffee with cream is my "Keto coffe". Additionally, use it diluted to cook with (Crustless quiche, etc.) and to make a "milkshake" made with either 5 Stawberries, cream, water and ice or a mocha shake made with coffee and cocoa powder - both sweetened with a bit of Erythritol. Plus I have a LOT of recipies that use cream either as an important ingredient or as part of a sauce.

Truth? Top keto food for me is NO food. Eating less period helps my ketosis enormously, and when I do eat keeping it to less meals.

If I had to pick one food it would probably be alfalfa sprouts, because few foods give me so much energy for so few carbs.

Keto coffee is definitely my top!!!!!!!!

Every morning almost without fail my breakfast is four shots of espresso mixed with a teaspoon and a half of coconut oil and some heavy cream with some water added.

My next may seem pretty boring. Beef. Most any and all forms of beef. A good steak being the best. I can live without chicken or eggs or fish or pork. But beef? NEVER!!!!!!!

Can't choose just one

If I had to choose, I would say pork rinds. Nobody else has listed them (I love everything else listed in this thread), and they are so versatile for helping me feel like I am not losing out by giving up tortilla chips. I was a tortilla chip junky. I love nachos or chips and salsa. I can still have great nachos now with pork rinds, melted cheese, guacamole, and sour cream. I like using the microwavable pork rinds if I am making nachos so they do not get mushy from the microwave.

If I did not have to choose a favorite, then I think almond milk with heavy cream added or chicken and alfredo sauce on miracle noodles would be honorable mentions.

Bacon. Jalapeno. Cream cheese. I put it on everything from flax meal crackers to pork chops, or just by the spoonful!!

I originally found the recipe for bacon jalapeno fat bombs on ruled.me. http://www.ruled.me/jalapeno-popper-fat-bombs/
I decided to tweak it a little and mix it all up. I usually will mix up 8 oz of cream cheese at a time and just keep it in the fridge.

WOW! That is such a good idea. Thanks from me too! This would be good on cucumber slices too I bet!

If I had to choose just one food item, it would have to be cream cheese because of its amazing versatility. We use it for everything from breakfasts, sauces, desserts, veggie dishes, dips, spreads, for stuffing othe lc things. ..the list goes on forever!

OMG YES!! The BBQ are my fave pork rind flavor and can only find them at Walmart. My closest is 45 miles from home so whenever we go I buy 3-4 bags at a time. My 9 year old son loves them too so we gotta stock up!

Speaking of Walmart, their generic brand, "Great Value" maybe, buttermilk ranch dressing is the BOMB! IDK what it is about it but its amaze-balls!

I can't pick just one either. I think if I had to pick just one protein, I would pick eggs. They are so versatile and nutritious. Of course this would be dependent on butter being available.

What is "Nutritional Ketosis"?

Keto food? I am guessing that's a zero carb food that you can eat for/in ketosis. For me that would probably be ham and cheese or ham and soft cheese.

Ketosis is often referred to in starvation situations and so because it is a way of eating that allows for ketosis, it is referred to as nutritional ketosis to make the differentiation.

Thanks. So is NK it basically the same as "very low carbohydrate" eating?

Well no. There is a protein limit and total carbs are usually below 20g.
