kristina - Oatmeal and apples ARE sugar. We only need 1 tsp. of sugar in our bloodstream. If you want to see how much extra you're throwing in, look at the carb count of a serving and divide that number by 4. What you get is the number teaspoons of extra sugar you're putting into your body. That's just for one serving!
Check out Jimmy Moore's "Cholesterol Clarity". It's an easy read and you can put it on a Kindle if you have one. His "Keto Clarity" is also an easy read if you want to consider switching from WW to low carb or if you want to eat low and still do WW.

At a ratio of 4.22, your numbers are not bad--according to my endo.
I just had labs done last week, and although my LDL was flagged as 'high,' my endo pointed out that my HDL/LDL ratio was below 3--and he said that anything below 5 was considered OK, so my ratio was superb. The total number is not as important as the ratio, and the lab will always 'flag' things out of range--even though they might not be bad. For example, my HDL of 90 is flagged as 'high,' but that's a good thing. Just looking at the lab report, my cholesterol would seem to be an issue, but the interpretation of my very excellent doctor is that it's just fine. NOTE: Your trigs are within the lab range, but you can lower them with low carb eating. My trigs are 55 and rarely go much higher. |
