I snuck one of the muffins last night..Very good..Might not put the cream cheese frosting on them, but serve them with cream cheese on the side. I'm giving most of them to my LC friend who is having her bladder lifted this am...Doesn't sound like fun, does it?

Our car had some hail damage..I am not kidding you..maybe 5 little dings..It will cost $3,600 to fix. They have to go to the backside of the dings..and remove lots of things to ping them out..Akk..

Allergy shot was a piece of cake. Tiny needle..I didn't pass out..They increase the dose.

KC peeps..There is a low carb day on Sept 30 ? where Adam Nally and others are speaking.
I'd love to make it, but don't think I will..

Dh still has his man cold...I'm going to the grocery store..Too much coughing for me.
I have been taking my Claritin and I do think it prevents getting big allergy attacks like he has.

Hugs all around.

Glad you liked the muffin. Your friend will, too.
The bladder lift sounds scary to me. But it might be perfect for your friend.

I gave Maddox a bunch of horsey rides yesterday. Then gave brat pug a bath. My back is not happy with me today. It's not "out" just uncomfortable. Will probably be much better tomorrow.

Carolyn I hope you can stay well.

One of my favorite back exercises is to lay on the floor and just stretch.. Bring your knees up gently to your chest and then straighten them out.

My friend was having major leakage (not good), so this was a necessity..I hope she likes them.

Some people are going on a mission trip, so I made some oatmeal raisin cookies..(high sugar). They are in the freezer..Of course, I had to have one..Dh said, "These are good."
Duh...

Did you catch the Jon Benet Show? I'm such a mystery fan..I think these new detectives
got it right..Hopefully, they will open up the case. Dr. Lee said he could test the DNA
that they missed..It was a big coverup by the parents. Their theory is that the brother
had a bowl of pineapple and milk..Jon came downstairs after being put to bed. She stole
a piece of pineapple from the bowl and her brother chased her with a flashlight and bopped
her on the head (which killed her instantly). Then the parents spent all night covering it
up.

I've wondered and wondered why they couldn't solve the Jon Benet case.
No I didn't see the show but I'm positive I like your recap better than that show! LOL
Must have been some flashlight and some big bop to kill her instantly...

DD failed her glucose tolerance test. She's due about the 2nd week of December.
She's been eating not really low carb, but I'll say lower carb. So I think it's possible that fasting and dumping a bunch of glucose on her system might make her over-react.
140 was the top number and her number was 165 after an hour.
She'll now have to do the 3-hour glucose tolerance test.
I told her to up her carbs a little - eat that banana and those grapes she's been dreaming about.

I have been doing your exercises, Carolyn, since yesterday when it started.
I've turned a corner and things feel MUCH better. Actually I think maybe the shower made it better.

DD and I are going to jet down to Ikea near Dallas - Frisco. She's returning a crib and buying another. LOL We just like the trip.
So I'm making Jen Eloff's peanut butter cookies and I'll make those 37-calorie brownies for our car trip.

The last couple of times we've gone to Ikea by Sandy, our hotel rooms were quite warm. We figure they know how to cool a room in Texas, so we'll try that direction now. LOL

I do not miss many things, but I really miss oatmeal cookies. I bet they are great.

DH and I have seen all the recent programs about it except the Dr Phil one with Burke. Burke is who DH thinks did it.

Watching the 2nd part of the JonBenet case now. Used to think mother did it, now thing Burke did it, accident, and parents covered it up. One quick action, killed her and ruined their lives.
Point me please to the applesauce muffins and if this was already done, I'm sorry I can't remember.
Still not feeling the best, can't see my urologist for another week.
Glad to read all news. More later!

Where is everybody????? We're getting ready to head to the lake for what will probably be our last camping weekend of the season.

We got rid of our hot tub yesterday. It took a crane to lift it over the house the same way it did to put it there. We gave it some friends for just the crane rental fee. They have great plans for it and both of them will use it rather than just one. It's lonely sitting in a hot tub alone and DH just really didn't care for it unless everything was just perfect. Outside temp, inside water temp, wind speed, if Mars and Venus were in alignment....you get the picture, lol.

Have a great weekend everybody!!

Hi
Home with Gary's man cold.,,or really bad allergy attack that seems to be around here.

Have fun at the lake! Glad you got rid of the hot tub. We aren't hot tub peeps, but lots of people are.

Burke did it. I can easily see a brother chasing his sister around after she stole a piece of pineapple. I'm sure he didn't mean to hit her that hard, but he did. He would have gotten off easily as he was so young at the time but the parents had to waste $$$$ on the investigation instead of telling the truth.

have fun in Texas!!!!

I'm knitting another sweater for a little girl. It is called a Wallaby and I'll post it when I get done. It is the same pattern as my first prize sweater.

Buffy, hope your UTI is better. My friends bladder surgery took 30 minutes. She will be sore for a while, but feels better already..

If there's DNA from Burke, why hasn't that been used to prosecute??
That has been the strangest case from the very start.

Can't wait to see your new baby sweater, Carolyn.

Sandy it was you and Buffy and probably Debby who warned me away from a hot tub and I have been grateful ever since. I am positive DH would be exactly like your DH and I'd be sitting out there wondering when he'd decide to join me....never! LOL

Going to a music thing tonight with my mom and SS. Then Saturday morning early we hop in the car and go up to Kansas to visit a couple of relatives. Lots of driving tomorrow. I think we're going to Bentley, KS? And someplace a little further. Not sure. I'm just a happy passenger. LOL

The murder weapon ( flashlight) was wiped clean..they couldn't even find fingerprints on the batteries. Remember the dad lifted JB from the basement..SO NOT RIGHT. Don't move the body is the general rule of any policeman..So, if Dad did carry her to the basement after she died, then his DNA would have already been there if he carried her down there after her death. So, JB's body didn't have to have any DNA from Burke on it if he bopped her on the head with the flashlight.

Baby sweater is drying....

But i can understand grabbing your child. You don't see your child and think "crime scene". But kinda think it was someone in the house.

That all makes perfect sense.
Wonder where Burke is today?

SS weighs 117 and has no more symptoms of reactive hypoglycemia.
All due to fasting!
We still need to see what her fasting blood glucose is, but we're hopeful.

Our hot tub has a leak. Not so D, H, lol, can't seem to get the stars to align to get it fixed but refuses to have it removed. Most stubborn man evah!
Will be busy week getting ready for DD.

APPLESAUCE CINNAMON MUFFINS (Jennifer Eloff)

2 eggs
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
Liquid sweetener (sucralose or stevia) to equal 1 cup sugar (Judy uses a mixture of sweeteners including Pyure from Wal-Mart. Careful! It is double strength! (plus powdered xylitol, & EZ Sweetz, little bit of Stevia extract)
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 tsp unflavored gelatin
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups Gluten-Free Bake Mix 2
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp ground cloves

In food processor, process eggs, applesauce, liquid sweetener, butter, gelatin and vanilla extract.

In medium bowl, combine Gluten-Free Bake Mix 2, cinnamon, baking soda and ground cloves.
Add to wet ingredients; process.

Fill 12 muffin cups 3/4 full and bake 20 minutes, or until knife inserted in muffins comes out clean.
Allow to cool in muffin tin and then remove them.
Refrigerate later to keep them fresh.

Helpful Hint: You can double this recipe and freeze a dozen muffins. They freeze well.

0.4 g fiber
6.5 g net carbs

I wish I'd made more muffins, but my sick friend enjoyed them.

Still suffering with a head cold from my dh. I am taking it easy today/tomorrow so this thing will go away before our trip to Branson next Tuesday.

Dh is trying to re-stain the deck, but first he has to power wash it. Our power washer died, then he rented one that wouldn't start, got another one and the hose has a leak. Staying away from this project!

Oh gosh - that deck thing sounds like a headache!
Glad he's willing to do it and you can stay away from it.

Well, good news, I guess.
More work coming my way. I wish I were excited about working. LOL

We got our letters from our HMO - DH's medical insurance is going up $150/month, mine's going up $120/month. DH will be 65 in June, so that will change, thankfully.

So I'd better work!

I'm trying a new recipe - a zucchini drop biscuit. Looks like it's 1 shredded zuke and a little coconut flour and a lot of cheese. I'll report later.

to all!

I am mortified with both candidates.
I am voting for the Sweet Meteor of Death for president 2016. LOL

I forgot to say I'm sorry you got that cold, darnit.
The older I get, the more a cold actually makes me feel like I'm "sick" instead of just "have a cold". Hope you get better and better.

Went with DD to OB appointment. She immediately got high blood pressure with this pregnancy and sees an MFM - a specialist, and I got to go to that appointment with her today to see some images of new little boy. He is so so so active it's hard to get a good picture of his face, but so far he sure looks like Maddox. She's due Dec. 18, but it will be another C-section, so the earlier (further away from Christmas) the better. Probably, hopefully, be a week before Dec. 18.

Not sure what to say about those biscuits. We both like them, then DD came by and we gave her a few. It says it makes 16, but I got 18. It does not really taste like a "biscuit" but it would be a great little side for about anything. I will keep this recipe.

Hi,

We are having pork chops for dinner and I think these would go great with them..I might make 1/2 a batch, though. Let you know....

Today is baking day..Making pumpkin pies for the community dinner for tomorrow night. I bought frozen crusts..

Maybe Jesus will come back before November..

I totally agree with you Judy about "just having a cold" doesn't fly anymore. I used to go to work and have a cold for a couple of days and not worry about it.. But, the older I get, the longer it takes.

Well, it is finally staining the deck day...

We are going to the C. S. Lewis "play" the beginning of October at the Tulsa performing arts theater. Sarah and Brett are going with us and we are meeting Sarah's parents for dinner
afterwards..I'm excited to meet her folks..I'm sure they are great. Her dad doesn't talk much, but Gary is good at bringing people out.

Will post the picture of my sweater I made for my little Zoe friend.

Hugs all around.

Yes - a half batch sounds like a great idea.
I think these will only be good straight out of the oven and/or re-heated in the toaster oven or oven. They're very "vegetabally". We liked them, but they are NOT biscuits.
They were a really nice addition to our meal, though.

I'll have to check about the C. S. Lewis "play". Sounds interesting.
I am excited for you all to meet Sarah's parents, too! Glad the kids are having a nice time together.

Well, when you use those 9 inch pie pans with the frozen crust, you can get two pies out of one can of pumpkin with the other stuff..They aren't very deep, but fine for the purpose. My PSA announcement for the day.

Hmm..thanks for the review, Judy..

I had a tiny bit left in the bowl, so I poured it into a small ramekin and microwaved it. Too sweet..that real sugar is. The recipe called for brown sugar, so I just used white sugar and molasses.

Hi gals
My recipe for real pumpkin pies, from my sister, makes two pies out of 1 can. It is a soft, mild pie. I don't like the stiff, strong pump pies. I have fine tunes Jodys pumpkin bake to my liking now. This last one is very good. Used some vita fiber powder in it which gave it a better mouthfeel. Also added it to my last chocolate cake and I liked it. Teresa liked both. She got here in the middle of the night wed night, we ran around yesterday, then she went to her sisters house in Dallas, will be back tonight. Tomorrow will share her with her other sister. We allllll love it when Teresa comes to visit. The kids all adore Aunt Teresa, she is so fun!
Carolyn and Judy, you are so right about colds, etc, as we get older. Just can't keep going like when we were younger. Have to stop and get over them.
Went to urologist wed, we are trying another low, maintenance dose of a different antibiotic. Fingers crossed I tolerate this one.
Judy, know how you feel about upcoming work, as I got older, I really lost my desire to do anything but just whatever I want to do.
Loving our beautiful fall days.

I JUST GOT SOME VITAFIBER POWDER!!!! I already had some liquid and made a pecan pie for DH that was freaking INCREDIBLE.
IN-CREDIBLE.

So I bought the powder I think on netrition because I was getting some other things and thought I'd add it to the bunch. Because, you know, I don't have enough low carb items!

I love your description of Teresa's visit! How much fun for you all! Is she your oldest?

"lost my desire to do anything but just whatever I want to do."
Spot on, darnit.

But I'm working right now, so toodleoo!

Yes spot on Buffy. I feel like that every single day and can get a little grouchy if I end up "having" to do something I'd rather not. But that's life I guess. I do feel like we've earned the right to feel that way though. Look how many years we did above and beyond for everybody else except ourselves. It's our turn!!

Gosh, ladies...I feel the same way....

Definitely need to check out the vitafiber. I thought I had ordered some a while back, but can't find it. No big surprise!

Have fun with Teresa! I hope that low dose helps you, Buffy..

New month...?? Anyone think of a name???

Tomorrow is opening day for Neewollah tickets. Since we have a coronation and talent show for Queeen Neelah, there will be mothers lined up early in the am. I have to leave the house at 6:30 to feed my friend's cats/kitten and dogs then get to town by 7:40 to work. Early to bed for me!!!
