My hair started thinning big time after menopause so I tried Biotin. I took an entire bottle....I think it was around 3 months. I noticed no difference so I stopped taking it. I think Biotin may help some people, but it depends on the cause of the thinning. For me, the drop in hormones due to menopause wasn't helped by Biotin.

Ronnie, how much did you take?

I just started taking it and 5000 one day and 10,000 every other day.

I was taking 5000 everyday. Unfortunately, I didn't notice any benefit. It didn't work for my sister either (also post menopausal). I do hope you have better results.

Biotin made my nails stronger, but it hasn't stopped my hair loss. I've been taking it for years too. I've tried tons of things for my hair, but it's still falling out. Like Ronnie said, it may or may not help, depending on what is causing your hair loss (assuming that's why you want to take it).

Yeah biotin never did much for me as far as stopping a shedding phase. What does seem to help is consistently taking a good multivitamin, D3, and fish oil. Also, not washing my hair every day (I only wash about 2-3x a week - use dry shampoo on in-between days) and using a no-sulphate shampoo.

I wash my hair every 2nd or 3rd day and it's very upsetting to see so much hair in the hair catcher. I think I'll try Biotin once more....maybe I'll have better results this time. I don't know what else to do.
