I'm tired. poor KSU lost, but it was their own fault. I played with Lana's kitten, Mischief, this am when I fed the animals. She was purring and purring.

I think I lost 2 pounds of my vacation weight. 157, but not happy about it.

Chuck roast in the oven. FINALLY taking it out.
Made the batter for flourless chocolate cookies I've posted before.
This time I added 1/4 cup Ouizoid's Better Than Flour mixture.
The batter is delicious. Hope the cookies are that good.

OSU beat Texas! It was a fun game, but only because we won. LOL

Carolyn I hope you get to bed early. You really earned a good night's sleep!

Good for OSU..i'm sure they were very happy.. Let us know about the cookies..

Coloring my hair... We are heading to Branson for a few days with our Columbia, IL friends.
Luckily, they found a place to keep their doggie for a few days..The dad wanted to bring the dog with them..but the condos don't allow pets..This dog is rather yippy..

Thanks to NyQuil, I sleep well..

Christine M. said there were 200 tickets sold to the KCity LC day..That was good I thought.

Carolyn!!!!! CUUUUUUTE sweater!!
Makes me want to learn knitting.
I made a scarf for myself about 10 years ago.

Hi Myca! What is your style of eating? You've found a group of friends here who all eat differently. LOL Most of us low carb, several of us are doing some intermittent fasting.
What have you been doing?

Yes Carolyn, very cute sweater. What size would it be? Newborn, one year, or???

I'm back to my IF, mostly doing Fast 5. My social life is the part that throws me for a loop! We have too many food events in our lives. But we're sure having fun, lol.

Hi Myca...

It is a size 4. I'm knitting a size 2 for our pastor's little guy..that goes faster..Thanks for the compliments..

Still 157..My goal is to be perfect on my plan while in Branson. My skinny friend Sharon eats very little or about 1/2 of what I eat. I should eat like Sharon..She has lots of self control and her house is immaculate.

I guess there is a cold virus going around and it lasts 2 weeks..coupled with ragweed, you are dripping all the time..

Sandy, how is your granddaughter doing that started prednisone?

Hugs all around.....

She's doing better Carolyn. She's started being able to have some clear broth but if she doesn't strain it well and if any little chunks are still in it she immediately starts having the severe stomach pains again. Of course, she's still on the TPN for her complete nutrition. She gets some of the ramen noodle type soups and then strains all the solids out and just drinks the flavored broths. They have quite a variety of flavors so at least it's not always just the same flavor over and over. I don't know if she's ever going to be any better. The Drs have said her intestines are deteriorating and have mentioned the possibility of a transplant at some point. It is just so worrisome and my heart breaks for her. She'll be 18 in a few weeks. But at least the prednisone is helping her energy levels and she's feeling well most of the time. Her mom told me that her face is starting to get puffy from the pred already.

Have a good time on your Branson trip!!

Oh gosh - my nephew was dxd with Crohn's at 14. All they had then were steroids, not the fancy anti-inflammatory in jectables they have now.
He had a moon face for a couple of years.

I hate that for your DGD and of course for all your family. If she feels any better, that is some kind of blessing. Bless all of you.

Forgot to tell you - those chocolate cookies were amazing. Just adding that 1/4 cup Better Than Flour made them sturdier. They were like a big bite of chocolate cake.
Even if you added 1/4 cup almond flour that would probably be good, too.

Carolyn remind me when you leave for Branson?

Here are those cookies again if anybody's interested. They're quick to whip together and don't make a ton. Just the right amount for a nice chocolate cookie. If you don't have any Better Than Flour, I think a little almond flour would be fine. Or even omit any flour. That's how I made them the first several times - no flour at all. Very good either way.

Low-carb flourless chocolate cookies by low-carb-support.com

12 biscuits; Calories per serving: 75;
Ingredients
(consider adding 1/4 cup Better Than Flour or almond flour)
• 45g (1.5oz) sugar-free cocoa powder (heaping 1/2 cup for me)
• 50g (2 oz) Truvia, or similar granular sugar substitute (heaping 1/2 cup artificial sweeteners blend for me)
• 60g (2oz) unsalted butter (softened but not melted) (4 Tbsp. butter for me)
• 60g (2oz) cream cheese (softened)
• 2 large eggs
• 1 tsp sugar-free vanilla extract

Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°
2. Mix cream cheese with artificial sweetener and blend until smooth
3. Lightly beat the eggs and mix with butter and vanilla extract
4. Add the egg mixture to cream cheese and mix well until no lumps
5. Gently fold in cocoa powder and Better Than Flour, if using
6. Line a baking tray with baking paper
7. Spoon out the mixture into round mounds (they will flatten in the oven)
8. Bake for 20-25 minutes (18 minutes if using BTF)
9. Let cool completely (biscuits will get more crispy when cool)
Assuming 12 biscuits are made from the amounts listed above, per biscuit: 75 cal, 0.8g net carbs, 7g fat, 3g protein.

My sweetener for these cookies:
3 Tbsp. Pyure (Walmart - I powder it after I buy it. Seems just like Swerve)
1/4 + 1 Tbsp. xylitol, powdered
1 teeny scoop Stevia extract
2 drops EZ Sweetz (may omit)
Taste the batter for sweetness before baking!

Back from Branson...We had fun with our Columbia, IL friends..Sharon is a darling and started a Wallaby..Ron is on oxygen all the time..all the time..He brings his oxygenator with the trolley and when we go out it will run on the battery for 90 minutes..but he carries
another battery. He can plug it in in the car, which is handy..Let me tell you, it is a very scary disease..But we saw the Presleys, who were very good and Moses, which was amazing.

I haven't weighed in yet, but the Claritin kills my appetite..Hello!

Spunk: We just post our weight loss for the month..We have monthly challenges because
our threads get too long otherwise. We love having you...Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Oh, Sandy, that poor kid..Maybe an intestinal transplant would help her greatly..

Now to find something for dinner..We stayed at the 1000 Hills Condos, which were great.
We had a 2 bedroom for about 200 a night with tax, so we split it. It would sleep 6 (2 on the pullout couch)..It was nice to just have a living room..There was a huge kitchen with all the
amenities..but we didn't bring food with us..But a family could really save $$ staying there and eating in. Not us..

Welcome home!

I didn't know what to say about the challenges, so I said nothing. LOL

Wow, I wish Claritin killed my appetite!

My cousin Lisa's mother (my aunt) and Lisa's husband and daughter live in Orlando. My aunt says her neighbors are boarding up their windows today. She's taking her cat and staying with Lisa's husband and her granddaughter. Will leave her car at home so it can stay under the car port.
I'm fascinated and worried for people with this huge hurricane.

Happy to say I've fasted until just now (5PM) and I'll have a little snack and take my vitamins.

Yikes!! It looks horrible. Praying they are safe. Where does Lisa's Dh live??

Lol...we are basically challenged.

Oh, I bought a copper pan in Branson. Our friends love theirs and they say nothing sticks!!

Watching the weather channel. We had a big storm when we were gone.. Nothing leaked though here.

Orlando. It wouldn't normally be bad, but this is supposed to be bad.
Disney World has closed today at 5PM - one of the very few times they've closed.
They say they won't open until Saturday.

It's been since around 2005 they've had a hurricane big enough or hit them just right to affect Orlando very strongly. They were out of power for days at that time.

I've had my eye on that copper pan. HA HA! I'm going to try to resist.
I DID buy (very inexpensive) one of those ceramic-coated pans. It's quite thin, so DH hates it.
If you keep the heat low, it does a great job and nothing sticks to that, either.

Carolyn we might have a big storm tonight, right? Very very warm here today. High tomorrow in the 60s.

Welcome back Carolyn. I think once you try the "condo vacation" instead of hotels you're hooked! It's so nice to be able to spread out and you can usually find them for the price of a hotel room. We rarely go out for breakfast when we're in a condo and it's nice to be able to bring a doggie bag back from restaurants and have a place to keep it cold and a way to heat it up. Also a place to throw it away if you end up not eating it, lol.

It was 47* here this morning at 8:00 when I got up! Yesterday was only in the 70s but it was muggy!! And I made 2 different kinds of soups yesterday so my house was quite warm, until I went and turned the a/c down to cool it off. DD and her hubs brought the boys over for dinner and ice cream. They were keeping them overnight. Their mom is assistant coaching the girls volleyball team at our local high school so they get to spend the night at their grandparents at least once a week, then Momma picks them up and takes them to school the next morning.

Well we're about totally switched over to our Humana plan. All my meds so far are free through their mail order pharmacy except my sleeping pill which is $4-something a month, so not bad. And it lasts me longer than a month since I don't take it every night. DH is at his physical appt right now and he'll be talking to the Dr about his meds and seeing if he can either switch his arthritis meds to something else or the Dr can request a "tier change" which then reduces the cost of that med. The rest of his are also free. We also get to go to the gym I used to belong to before we went to Manhattan, free! And that place is usually $70+ a month for one person!! So, so far we're pretty happy but of course it's still quite early. But this is the same exact plan my dad has and that my mother also used to have so I'm pretty familiar with it for them.

I've been successful this week doing my fasting even with my socializing so hopefully I'll get this extra few pounds back off before too long.

Just got back from our 2nd trip to the fair.
I'm going to need to do some serious fasting for the next couple of days! LOL
It was downright cold after dark! I confess I'm loving it. I hate the summer. Love every other season.

Our Orlando family only lost power for about 1 hour late this morning. So glad for them, and most of Florida, frankly. Could have been so much worse.

Carolyn I'm looking forward to hearing about your meeting tomorrow.

Sandy there's great security in knowing you like your health plan. Good deal.

Hi ladies..

Gosh, it is cold here this am..My neighbor friend raises bees, so I am trying her local honey to fight these allergies..One tsp in hot water a couple of times a day. Hoping it helps..

That Fair looked like fun. We always say we are "going"...Looks like Maddox had a blast.

Yes, the hurricane seems to have done it's worse damage in Haiti..Those poor people..

I used to love summer when I lived in NH. Now, it is my least favorite season here..Iowa had better summers, too.

Yes, I am excited for the meeting..I think Gary will make a good impression..LOL..I'll try to not talk so much. Let you know how it goes...

Hi,

Meet the Parents went very well. Sarah's mother is very sweet and quite chatty so there was never a dull moment! Charleston's was very good and the C. S. Lewis production was great. Max McLean was amazing and it was so refreshing to have Theater with a message.

It is cool this am everywhere. Debbie...are you freezing up there.

My scale hit 156 today. Slllooowwly heading south.

Nursery duty today...hope no one cries.

I'm glad you all had such a nice evening.

Cooking today.

I think Debby's already had a skiff of snow!

The Walking Dead starts again tonight.
I'll be slightly out of touch... lol
