Texas sounds like fun in the winter...What town did you settle on? is it a campsite?

I used to eat 2 meals at Neewollah...The food trucks are all set up, but I drove back home
the other way so as not to be tempted..We will eat there tonight. Washing sheets for Sarah and cleaning the guest room up.

We're going to a resort in Brownsville called Winterhaven. "On the border, by the sea" is their little byline. You can look up the web site. There are several options there from brick homes, park models, mobile homes, travel trailers or RVs and motorhomes. No tents or pop-ups.

I've already forgotten - do you have family near there Sandy?

Good job on avoiding food trucks until later, Carolyn!

No Judy, it'll just be us. Two different sets of friends are coming down to visit while we're there. One has a motorhome and will stay there in the resort and the other will stay in a hotel. They're coming at different times so that should be fun.

Friends are always fun to vacation with.

Just made I'm Breathe, I'm Hungry's apple crumb cake..Very easy..It makes a 9 by 9. I'll freeze it for Saturday.

David is coming home Friday..he has vascular dementia which is different from Alzheimers as they are stages in AD..But I do think the stages in vascular dementia are there but not as distinct. Anyway..the drs. recommended Connie put him in a nursing home and she is not
going to do that..He is not that bad that she can't handle him. They have him on a new
med for depression and will see how that goes.

Cleaning day for company..Dh is even doing his part..

Cleaning is a lot different when you have a partner! Not that I would know...

So, vascular dementia is one of the stages of Alzheimers?
Or vascular dementia is NOT Alzheimers?
Sometimes I think I have a low reading comprehension. LOL
Putting him in a nursing home sounds quite severe. Glad she can still handle him and who knows how well he might respond to the anti-depressant?
Will keep them in my prayers. This is Shawn's dad, right?

:::running off to find that crumb cake recipe:::

Oh that's funny - I'd already seen and saved that recipe.
I might even use part apple and part zucchini - to cut the carbs.
Smart to make it early and keep out of reach.

No, Judy. He had a stroke years back that affected his frontal lobe, which was the mental part. Sooo many kinds of dementia out there.

I brought a Smart Bun to my favorite cheeseburger stand and she used the bun on her marvelous burger. Maybe it negated the French fries.

Great Fung interview with Dr. mercola.

We had a great time with Sarah and Brett.. She is so kind and adorable. We will see them next week as we go to the KSU game together.

Had another cheeseburger with my Smart Bun. Then I had to make something for the potluck tomorrow at church. I made a 9 x 13 pumpkin dessert. Crust was almond/cinnamon/finely chopped pecans/sweetener. I baked it for about 8 mins. Then made the filling: 8 ounces of melted cream cheese. 1/2 cup of cream/3 eggs/sweetener/pumpkin spices/ can of pumpkin. Pour over crust and bake until firm. 20 minutes. Cool and frost with Cool Whip. refrigerate. I hope it is good. Lol

DD is 33 weeks pregnant and does not want to walk Maddox around for Halloween.
I SWOOPED in and begged to take him to a few houses, so she nicely said yes.
So DH will hand out candy, I'll take Maddox, and DD can hand out candy and rest.
She's really tired every day.
Her nursery is almost done and her hospital bag is almost packed.
Her due date (cesarean) is Dec. 8 or 9, so she has time.
All her Christmas presents are purchased.

We are thinking we'll keep Maddox during the birth of baby Milo. He is acting like a 3-year-old a lot of the time so we're laughing wondering what we've gotten ourselves into.

Ugh.
We got takeout at the Freeway Cafe that I've talked up too much - 4th & Sheridan.
The Onion Strings are really thicker than I thought. SOAKING in oil.
Um.....we ate them anyway. Wheat and all. Just didn't feel so good afterward.

The burger for me was placed between two non-bread thingies; kind of crepe thingies I'd made a long time ago and frozen.
I would not order a burger again from there. They have so much good food - not that.

Review: OVER!

You'll love enjoying Halloween with Maddox! I remember when my grands were little and sometimes we'd be the ones taking them around. Halloween has never been one of my fav holidays but I love seeing the delight in the children as they enjoy it.
I told DH I wasn't participating this year b/c Bailey gets so excited and crazy and he thought I was terrible! So I bought some candy and told him he was in charge as Bailey & I were going to the bedroom until it was all over, lol.

I've been doing pretty well with my Fast 5 but there have been several days that the 5 has stretched into 6, 7, or 8. And I'm finding out that when that happens very often it just doesn't seem to work as well as sticking to the original Fast 5 or less. Duh! I was checking back over my weight history and I would really like to repeat what I did last year during the holidays. I didn't gain any weight and actually was down in the 130s several days around that time!!

I agree. 5 hours is a big enough window, and sometimes too big.
For me anyway.
I'm a pro at overdoing what is clearly meant to reduce the amount of food eaten!

Have fun, Grandma Judy...I love Halloween..One year it snowed in Des Moines and Brett went around in his snowsuit.. We only get about 6 kids here..

Alex used to run to the door when someone rang the door bell..LOL..Then he would run if it was a little kid..LOL.

Jimmy M. is doing well on his water fasting program..He had lost 22 pounds in 13 days. He does have a bit to lose, so he is losing well...

Did you get the Smart Buns yet, Judy?

I have 3 left..I put them in the freezer..

New name....How about Thankfully Thinner for November? We have had that one before, I think..

Sandy, you were a tiny little thing last year..I was soo happy for you.

Hugs all around.

I decided not to order the Smart Buns.
Judy Barnes Baker posted on their FB post that they were nearly all flax, so I decided to let go of that dream. Lol

I bet Maddox will go to five or six houses and we will be done. Or I hope so!
