Smart Buns

Netrition carries the Smart Baking company's Smart Buns. Absolutely superior lowcarb product. 0 net carbs and 72 calories each. Fluffy good sized hamburger buns--I couldn't be more happy with them. Just finished an egg mcmuffin breakfast and looking forward to taking one with me to In'n'Out for a burger. Highly recommended.

I bought them for my daughter since she is lower carb and gluten free. I didn't try them. She thought they were ok. They are very fluffy

follow up on these: the bottom half of the bun is super thick, so this morning I sliced it in half lengthwise to get two "english muffins," toasted and slathered with butter and sf jam. Soooo good. I am in love with these and need to place another order soon so I am never without. Last night I gave my hicarb hubby two cheeseburgers on these buns and he never blinked an eye. They really are remarkable.

I have more coming. I'll have to try them this time. The Miracle Noodle company makes them and they are so much more expensive on their website. . Do you know if they raise your glucose?

chelePA, the next time I have one, I will test my BS. Of course, I have them 'with' something, like butter, meat, tuna, almond butter, mayo, etc. which could have an impact.

I just noticed the sugar alcohol in the buns, do all breads have that in there? I wonder why they even put that in there? Hmmmm...... Did you notice a sweetness to them, just curious. Thanks!

They are just barely sweet, in much the same way as hamburger buns are. They are just fine in a savory preparation, but they also work well as toast and jam

Smart Buns

Do these hamburger buns arrive fresh from Netrition to the west coast ?
I've been getting the Protein burger (lettuce wrap) at In-N-Out, but sure would like to try it with a bun again !

yes--I'm in northern california. They arrive double wrapped and it is suggested that you buy the heat packaging for shipping and then freeze upon arrival. I've done that, and have several packs in my deep freeze. Just remove one when ready to use. They don't stay hard frozen, so easy to just pop into the toaster they are great with an in'n'out burger!!!

I like these as well. They are a tad dry though so I add lots of condiments. I also find them a bit bland so I add flavorful condiments. But they are the best LC hamburger buns I've tried.

Thanks, ouizoid ! Do you hand In-N-Out the bun...or transfer their 'ready-made' burger onto the SmartBun ?
I've used the GLCBread Co.'s submarine roll at Subway, but they just give me the sandwich fixings, to transfer it myself, & they deduct 50cents from the tab for not using their roll !

Thanks mucho Quiz. I just put in a Net. order yesterday which included three
packs of the Smart Buns, I paid a little extra for the ice packs. They suggest that
we freeze immediately upon arrival. We are going to In and Out as soon as they
make their way to S. Cal.

Same here.
I bought a pack last order and tossed them in the freezer.
This thread made me try them and they are really good.

I had bought another brand that was like chewing a sponge, it was awful and tasteless lol. Not sold on netrition, I think it was "farm" something.

Yay Dottie!!!! So happy you like!!

I've been cutting the bottom half into two rounds and toasting for breakfast in the morning. Topping it with some avocado to make avo-toast. I am really happy with this product.
