'Til the end of the year!

This thread should hopefully get us to the end of the year, unless we get lots of replies, then we can go monthly again.

How has everyone been doing?

I haven't lost those last pesky 20 pounds yet, but I haven't given up trying. And for the next 2 days I'm on a liquid diet in prep for a surgical procedure on Friday. Maybe this will give me the much-needed jump start that I need!!

I joined a gym a month ago, but have been mainly focusing on strengthening my back/core muscles because I was diagnosed with arthritis and 2 bulging discs in my lower spine. The gym is much cheaper than physical therapy! And I've been going 3-4 days a week. Not sure if it's helping, but I HAVE been back-pain free since I started going there!

Let's keep each other motivated!!

Ok, hi again. I really need some support. I need to get back to basics, protein first, shakes, etc. Anyone else ready? We have 9 weeks till Christmas---I could lose most of that 20 pounds in that time if I EXERCISE and am real careful. Come on. Join me.

I don't know any secret ones, chewie. Maybe others can help out.

I'm trying to focus first on protein, then on veggies.... except for my lunch....lately they consisted of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, parm cheese, sunflower kernals and Ken's lite ranch. I know salads do absolutely nothing for me nutritionally, but dang it, I just LIKE them I need to pick up some more protein drinks on my Friday shopping trip.

I do have a goal of 20lbs by Christmas it's pushing the envelope but, gonna give,it a go.

I cannot kick this night time snacking habit.... potato chips mostly Ughhhh! I'm not gaining, but I'm not losing, either, and I still want to lose at least 20 pounds.

I will never stop trying.

Hi everyone!

Good for all of you for getting back to it! I wish you much success!

I was sleeved 06/2015 and I have been a very slow loser since surgery. I lost 40lbs
before I had surgery. I still want to lose 35lbs or so.

I had a looong spell with peanut butter....not good when you're still trying to lose!

For the last month I have finally kicked it into a new gear and did away with
many low carb treats and really keeping carbs low and started losing again and also
got great appetite suppression going very low carb as well.

I also started fasting and that has really done it! I am having a lot of success
with that and it has helped lower the amount I can eat.

I am just throwing this out there because its another tool but I'm not
interested in any negative feed back about fasting. I have done my research
and found that its very healing to the body and it heals insulin resistance also.

I'm not trying to convince anyone just offering another tool.

Welcome yogama!

Give us an example of your day's meals please.
Also, how often do you fast?

Thanks Wendy!

Well for the most part I usually have coffee with cream and a bit later I will have 2 deviled egg halves.

Lunch will be chicken salad I make with chicken, mayo and green olives. I have to take something I can eat cold.

Dinner is usually 1/2 cup of chili (no beans) and an oz of cheddar. Or chicken and broccoli with butter

Then I'll have an Atkins shake for my nightly treat and more protein. Never did care for Premier shakes. I also might have 3 cheese crisp that total about 100 calories.

However, I when I got serious I stopped the eggs and chicken salad at lunch and just ate dinner and had my treats. I did that for several weeks until it was very comfortable going without breakfast or lunch and then I tried a 45 hour fast. I make Sunday dinner my last meal then have coffee Monday and Tuesday morning and eat dinner Tuesday night. for about 45 hours. I have done 2 - 45 hour fasts and 2 - 70 hour fasts. I do one a week. Each one has gotten easier. This week I am not doing one but I plan on starting one next Sunday after dinner. The longer fast really seems to burn my body fat stores.

Hope this helps.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

I'm going to do my best to stay on track today; however, I KNOW that I might stray a bit... and I'm ok with that. AS long as I keep telling myself, every day, that I'll stay on track, I know I will eventually reach my goal!

I'm off to do all my cooking. We've got about 7 family members coming.

Have a good day!

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.
I lost a pound.
I'm trying real hard to keep my protein around 80 or more; that seems to really help the weight loss.

I'm probably going to put my tree up and decorate the house today and tomorrow. But I'm not really feeling into it, probably because my mind is full of thoughts of leaving my husband, and my mind has been filled with all the details that involves. It's not going to happen now, or even in the near future, but perhaps by spring, mainly because I just can't afford it right now And I'm afraid of change But I've got about 5 months to get myself psyched up and ready for this. It's a long, boring story, and I'll share more details as needed as time goes on.

I sure wish my mom was still around. I need someone to talk to so bad, and I have no one.

It's really hard staying on track with eating when going through stuff like this.

Wendy - I'm so sorry your going through all of that! If you make the decision to go it
will probably be one of the hardest decisions you will ever have to make and get through.
Your in my thoughts and wish you much strength in these next months....

Congrats on your 1lb loss!!!

Hey ladies , well I stayed on point not losing but, didn't gain , I guess that's a win . LOL

Well gonna try something off the grid, fruits, vegetables, lean protein, no dairy. It's. Paleo diet . The hardest thing is to give up sugar substitute. I'm trying this for 30 days. Will let you know how it goes,

Wendy,, don't feel you got no one to vent , just IM me

Keep an eye out for Bariatric Foodie's annual pledge. You can sign up on the website. After that there should be a secret FB group that opens up. It's goal related, nothing off topic, but it's accountability and so far a good group of people.

Well, I've lost 3 pounds in 4 days.
Sunday I decided I'd had enough, and wanted to leave my husband. Since then, my nerves have been shot, haven't eaten much... especially Tuesday, which was the day I KNEW I HAD to tell my husband that I was moving out. He was stunned, and didn't have much to say. He texted me yesterday just to ask how my day was going..... I think he thinks (or is hoping) that I'm not serious about this; however, I should find out today or tomorrow if an apartment my daughter and I want to move in will approve me, and I'm fairly certain they will, so I may very well be moving out this weekend.
I'm still scared and nervous of what the future will hold, but I AM able to eat again. Sleeping is another matter.
Please just say a prayer for me, that things move smoothly and quickly.
