Thanks for the nice words about my pics.

Did not go to exercise This morning ..did not sleep well..so blew it off...not a good thing for I always feel better after I exercise

Hope everyone has a good day today

I'm so sorry about your news from the doctor. I will say a prayer for you. The good news is that you are doing what you can to be healthy. Do all you can to eat clean and you will lose weight and improve your health.

I'm on such a good streak it makes me a little nervous. I did not make it to the gym yesterday, but was great with low carbs and low cals eating mostly broccoli with mayo (kinda tastes like artichoke hearts) for dinner then my greek yogurt and sugarfree jello concoction for dessert. My goal today is to stay around 1000 calories and to get in 3 miles walking or on the elliptical. Since I didn't exercise yesterday I will FORCE myself to today.

Good luck all!

Well, that's a little better. I swear, I'm only trying to maintain this month. The sweet treats are ROLLING IN TO THE BREAKROOM!!!

So cold and dark outside. I dislike winter. The older I get, the less I like it.

You all have a lovely day!

Yesterday was a completely off plan day. One of those days where lack of preparation caused me to eat a carby lunch and so will-power was low when I went to a social engagement where chicken curry on rice was served for dinner and candy was everywhere and I had a glass of wine for the first time in over a month. I still tracked every single thing I ate and drank. So, I'm sure I'll pay for it today with a harder time staying on plan and a stall for several days. It so wasn't worth it and so weird to be able to stay almost 100% on plan on Thanksgiving and blow it on just any old day.

Maybe I'll get the 40s to stick around now.

Belly....Congrats for keeping it together when traveling. That's the worst for me.

Diana....Type 2 diabetes is curable with VERY low carb....or even NO carb for a while. Good luck. Do some research.

Terri....I don't envy you moving your Mom after 14 years. It always amazes me how "stuff" seems to multiply when we aren't looking.

Hang in there, everyone. We CAN do this.

12/8 - 254 parties, parties and more parties. surprised its not higher.

I've been logging although some of the things I've been eating, I have no real clue about content. For instance rum balls? Which I hate but someone shoved one in my mouth and said oh, you'll like these and you know its so rude to spit something out. You chew and swallow and take a gulp of your ice water or was that white wine? Anyway, I hope you can understand. The mind was willing at the beginning of the party/parties, but the body is weak.

Pawley, I'm so sorry about your diagnosis and completely surprised. You have been eating low carb since 2008? I've been reading all these stories about how low carbing will reverse type 2 diabetes. I'm sorry it didn't work for you.

Hi, Terri, Tracy, Judy, Kit, Shannon, Teresa, Belly, Bloodhound, Spride. Where is Kathryn? Others? Definitely missing. I may also be missing here and there, Its so busy right now and especially 14th through 29th, will be traveling. Don't count me out. I'll still be aiming low carb and trying to behave and will be back just after that to start the new year right!

Hello, my name is Sven. (really)

Ten years ago, i embarked on a low-carb lifestyle and once upon a time I was 305/215/199. Then DW had to go ahead and have our second child (ok, part of that was my fault) and so we had a two-year-old and a new born. Between the lack of sleep and the holidays, my diet exercise plan was torn to shreds. And bad habits returned. Once more into the breach my friends. Once more into the breach.

Still on that losing streak, probably from being on the first two weeks of low carbs, but I'll take it! I did make it out on a walk last night with my lovely niece. We braved freezing temps (literally) and darkness, but walked to and around the park for a total of 4.5 miles.

Today's goal is to stick with it: 1000 cals, 3.5 miles, <40 carbs.

Thanks for all the inspiration. I love reading about everyone's successes, challenges, and solutions.

Just popping in for a quick check! Business has been great which means I have absolutely NO time since I'm basically doing it all myself :P The Ex has been tossing a few "surprises" my way the last few weeks but I'm trying to keep an even keel throughout. My youngest daughter is coming on Sunday with my grandson so spend 11 days with us, I'm so excited! We're doing 11 days of Christmas with him and between me and my oldest, we've got 15 things for him to open every day! Miss all of you, I'll be back on the first, things should be a little less hectic after the holiday rush!

12/6 237.6 A new low, yesterday actually was but it was only .2, so today it feels better.

Judy you are doing awesome, keep up the great job!

Diana stay strong through this challenging time in your life, things still could change for you with your diabetes, it's always a possibility. We've all had unexpected gains this month, it will come back off!

Terri it looks like you are doing great maintaining. I'm going to be doing some Christmas baking soon and hoping I behave but... I wasn't going to bake this year because I didn't want the temptation but I decided to do it for my sons. They are both moved out and I'm there mom, what can I say. The good thing is I will be giving it away to them, neighbors and co-workers.

Bloodhound you are doing great with your weight loss, keep it up!

Kit doesn't it feel great being in the low 30's? You'll be in the 20's in a blink of an eye.

Tracy hang in there, surely it's going to drop back down especially since you are doing what you should be doing.

Everyone else great job for coming here and giving it all your best, Happy Friday to all!

Diana...You should read "Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution: A Complete Guide to Achieving Normal Blood Sugars." That book saved my daughter's life. Just google "Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution" and you'll find it. I promise you won't be sorry, but you will be surprised. Here's just a clip about him.

"Whether you are newly diagnosed or a lifetime veteran of Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes, Dr. Bernstein, a renowned and even revolutionary figure in diabetes treatment and diabetic himself, will show you how you could stop the roller-coaster swings in your blood sugars, steady your glucose levels, reduce your insulin intake and enjoy the same level of good health that people without diabetes have."

KitCat...Thanks, that's what I'm hoping to do PERMANENTLY!!

Terri...Maintaining (or even close to it) is a triumph this time of year...and especially when you are doing what you are for your Mom.

Laura...Glad to see you back, even if it's just for a check-in. I was hoping you hadn't left us. Enjoy your daughter and grandson. See you when things slow down.

Diana...Did you say COLD? Low 40's? We got down to 5* last night. It's just 15* out right now. But then, it IS December. LOL....I am SO ready for Spring and Winter doesn't actually start until December 21st!! Where is that global warming they keep talking about???

Teresa...Thanks...I'm really trying.

Hang in there, everyone. We CAN do this.

I knew it was too good to be true! I was really good yesterday around 20 carbs and 1000 calories but I didn't exercise. I think the lower number from Thursday was most likely due to being a little dehydrated..

Today's goal is same ole same ole but to definitely exercise.

Countdown to the weekend and a little more Christmas shopping!

I realize that I'm just talking to myself here but There! Maybe it was the exercise and not those couple of cheats, Maybe I'm growing muscle. I don't know but I'll take it. yea! Really I don't know why I'm so excited, its only 1 pd after 9 days. Apparently I don't have a clue as to why my body does what it does. Maybe it was the bathroom thing. This woe is killing me in that area. I can go a week!!! I know that's not good, but I've been trying everything. With no thyroid, and then no carbs its just hard. Okay that's my rant.

Wow Laura, 15 presents a day? I can't even imagine wrapping that many gifts not to mention buying them all. exhausting! But so much fun when they are opened!

Kit - don't fret, you are doing great! It will come back down. Look at the way I'm bouncing around.

Judy - loved your message to Diana! I'm getting the book just so I can know it and recommend it to anyone in the future that I hear needs this information.

Hi to everyone else. Hang in there, don't give up, post and log even if you are messing up a little. Reading everything here, the ups the downs for some reason strengthens me.
