they actually do have a ketosis monitor. It looks similar to a glucose tester and tests blood. Its said to be more accurate than the strips which makes sense if you think about how the amount of water you drink affects it. I've only seen it advertised and discussed. I follow a couple Facebook pages that are low carb and it is brought up sometimes.

BTW drinking water is tough for me...especially with it being so cold! I also can't run to the potty during class so... I KNOW I should drink more. I gues I could make up on the weekends. :::getting up to get water now:::

This recipe come from Ketobetic Aline on youtube. She's got some easy wonderful recipes on her channel. You should check them out.

Low Carb Keto Pancakes
2/3 cup Almond Flour/Meal (blanched is best)
2 eggs
2oz. cream cheese
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. NuStevia (or sweetener of choice) I had stevia powder. It is more pure so it's sweeter. I use one doonk, which is the little measuring spoon the comes in the sweetener, in mine. It's a much smaller mesurement. Next time I'll try Truvia.
1 tsp. Vanilla
(I felt like it needed some salt so next time I will add a dash of salt)
Heat skillet or griddle on med heat. Mix all ingredients in a Ninja or blender. Spread around some coconut oil in skillet or griddle. Pour mix in skillet or griddle and allow to cook until browned on one side. Flip and continue to cook until browned and middle is not squishy. Enjoy.
Yields 5-6 4in. pancakes
Carb count=17.2g-6g.fiber=11.2net carbs.
Calorie Count= 640
Serving Size @ 3 pancakes= 5.6 net carbs and 320 calories
These counts are going off the brand of ingredients I used.

I made these this morning and they are delicious!! I got 5 pancakes from this mix. I was really surprised to see them rise just like regular pancakes. I have tried other almond meal pancake recipes and they were always really thin and greasy. These were easy to make, used easy to find ingredients, and tasted fantastic. Even my hubby said they looked real good and that the looked just like regular pancakes. She also highly recommends Honeyville almond flour. I did some research on it and it seems to be a finer more flour texture meal and it's blanched. I ordered me some on the honeyville website. It's cheaper to get it there than on Amazon.
If you try them let me know how you like them.
These look really good. What do you put on them? SF syrup?

Good morning all!

Can not weigh today, we're out on our "ranch" which is 20 gorgeous acres that we bought and parked our RV on while we build.....we come up most weekends, no room for bathroom scales in the RV.....but I'm on track with my eating and plan to stay that way! I'll be back home Sunday evening so I'll get my weight updated and posted by Monday morning.

Everyone is doing so great.....lots of whooshes.....that is awesome!

Have a great Saturday everyone!!

Do any of you own a treadmill? If so what kind do you have? My DH and I are looking into getting one but can't decide which one, we've basically narrowed it down to 2 I think.

Ten years ago, i embarked on a low-carb lifestyle and once upon a time I was 305/215/199. Then DW had to go ahead and have our second child (ok, part of that was my fault) and so we had a two-year-old and a new born. Between the lack of sleep and the holidays, my diet exercise plan was torn to shreds. And bad habits returned. Once more into the breach my friends. Once more into the breach.

Yes. Sugar free maple syrup. I use Maple Grove Farms. I get it at Krogers. It should be on the syrup isle, but it can also be in the diabetic section in the Pharmacy. To me it tastes the best.

Thanks. I was there today and saw that brand. I got the Mrs. Butterworths. I'll try that one next time...if I ever use all of this one! It seems like such a huge bottle for just me.

He went 4-0 today at his wrestling tournament and I ate what I was supposed to!

But, it's not 7:30 (past the witching hour) and I'm so hungry. Not going to break my rule of eating at night. Not going to the gym, exhausted from the 5am wake up and all day on the road and in the gym. I just know that I need to add more protein next time!

Terri- Congrats! That's awesome!

Good morning everyone! I stayed on plan pretty well yesterday. I have to say that the fat bombs are very good, but are a hindrance to me during this phase. I tend to eat too many so no more of those until I get myself in check. There were a lot of swooshies on here yesterday. Congratulations! I hope to have one of those soon. I am feeling good. I am feeling thinner. I feel that I have probably lost some inches. Only time will tell. I made a low carb creamy chicken soup for supper last night. It was wonderful! I'll get the recipe together and share it with you. It was my own creation. It's hard to find really good LC soup recipes. I tried one with broccoli and cauliflower one time and yuck!! I guess I'm used to good old carrots, peas, and potatoes in mine which are of course no no veggies on LC. I think I've got a combination of veggies that I can live with in this recipe. It was good and hearty. Exactly what I'm looking for in a soup.
Angie~ Your mug cake...do you mind sharing your recipe or where you got it? I love mug cakes.
Kathryn~ Congrats to your son and congrats to you for sticking to your plan.
Have a great Sunday everyone!!

Family birthday party today so I'll try to stay strong Business is doing great but it's a lot all on my own. I'll be glad once the transition is complete but right now, 4 more months seems like a long time. I know time will pass quickly since I have taxes to do and that is usually time consuming. I'll work on sales tax for the 4th quarter this week and then start on the year end next. 2 moves last year, ugh! Have a great Sunday everyone and keep up the amazing job!

I made these this morning and they are delicious! I did have to add about 1/2 or 3/4 cup of almond milk. I also used 1/3 cup coconut flour and then 1/3 cup almond flour. And added the salt you suggested. I made bacon then fried them in the same skillet to get that flavor. We use on of those big electric skillets that drains most of the fat, to make the whole package of bacon each weekend since its so easy to store and reheat. I melted about 2-3 Tablespoons of butter and poured that on top of two pancakes and then dribbled the SF syrup. OMG they are YUM! Definitely a weekend treat.
Its a easy recipe that doesn't need any special ingredients which is important to me at this point.
Thanks for sharing Tami!

No problem. Did using coconut flour reduce the amount of carbs? I'll have to try your version.

Mug Cake
Ingredients
• 2 tbs butter melted
• 4 tbs almond flour
• 1 tbs unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1 tsp granulated stevia (or sweetener of choice) to taste
• 1 egg
• 1 tbs coconut flour
• ½ tsp baking powder
• ¼ tsp vanilla
Instructions
1. Melt the butter in the mug in the microwave.
2. Add the almonds, cocoa and stevia. Mix well.
3. Add the egg and all other ingredients. Mix well.
4. Cook in the microwave (see notes above) on HIGH for 1.5 minutes or until cooked in the center.
I topped it with Walden Farms caramel sauce and whipped cream. It was a nice treat.

I think coconut flour is a bit sweeter and I wanted to cut down some of the nutty flavor. It was good. I'm wondering how good it is with all coconut flour? I added the almond milk because it wasn't pour-able so I thought maybe some milk would help. It wasn't exactly pour-able but it was easier to spread around I think.

Good morning all!

Still can't weigh today, but I've been SUPER good on plan.....even avoided the wine and chocolate that DS and DIL were indulging in last night....and I do LOVE wine and chocolate!!!!! I stayed strong though!

Angela and Tami, those recipes look yummy!!!! I think they're a bit more carby than I dare to try right now.....but once I'm more firmly established I'll be giving them a try for sure!

Laura, stay strong at the b-day party.....you've got this!!!

Have a great day kids!

Super windy here today. Really hoping for no power outages.

Teresa - sorry no treadmill here. I had a used one that I had to give away when we moved due to not enough room. I can't remember the brand but I loved that it folded up. They are so big and heavy to move. Good luck with your purchase.

Good luck staying on plan all. Thanks for the recipes Angela and Tami. Mind sharing how you made that provolone taco shell?

Yeah I forgot working with coconut flour you have to add more liquid. It really absorbs it. Also I the Walden Farms sauce any good. I guess it is or you wouldn't eat it. I tried I think it was their peanut butter it might have been the carmel sauce I really cant remember all I remember is it was yuck. It turned me off to their other products. Lol It looked so good too. Maybe you've had better luck with it?
