Hi guys!!!

It's nice to see everyone still here.....I feel like the prodigal returning! It's been a heck of a ride in the year and a half since I checked out.....life definitely got crazy for a while. However, we are fresh into a brand new year and I MUST stop the slide I've been in. I have not regained ALL of the 50 pounds I lost.....but I did regain 30 of them! Enough is enough!!!

Vicki and Marilee have been sweet enough to reach out to me a few times and see if I'm ok....and I am....it's just taken me time to work my way back.....but I'm back, and I'm really needing to get my act together! I turned 50 last month, I know it only gets harder to lose weight as time keeps passing, so it's time to get serious!!

You guys give me so much hope and encouragement......you all are doing GREAT!!! Hopefully I can catch up and we can tackle 2017 together!!!!!

:welc ome:BACK, TAMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

omg, i can't believe you are really here!...we sent out search parties for months after you disappeared...we were worried about you, and honestly, we missed you...so happy to see you again and am looking forward to hearing about your always very interesting daily life...i have a million questions, but i will give you time to get settled and share over time...i see a beautiful baby, so i'm guessing your son and his wife gave you a grandchild?...

welcome also to gibb and grace!...of course, we'd love to have you join us!...the more, the merrier!...we are a group of pretty laid back folks who are always positive and supportive of each other through the ups and downs that inevitably come in pursuit of our weight/health goals...

we believe progress is made when we choose to make changes voluntarily...we don't judge, but we do care...so happy to have you with us...

abi, i'm wishing you did NOT have to work tonight!

ff, i didn't know you were stressed!...you always seem so calm to me...

good day today to start off the new year!...made a big pot of delicious chicken, shrimp and andouille sausage cajun gumbo...enjoyed it a lot...also had a couple of bunless turkey burgers with cheddar...love the way i am feeling starting 2017...

i'm hoping to lose 8-10 lbs. in this 3-month blitz...if i can do that, i will have lost 20 lbs. in 5 months...i'm ready!

do you guys have any goals for this blitz?

Awesome! Grace and I came from another that just ended, we were the only 2 left for a few weeks.

My goal is 30 pounds. I restarted mid July and weighed in today at 64 ugly pounds gone. I decided to weigh in now the first of every month instead of Sunday's, but I don't know. I love seeing the numbers drop and when they don't, it just makes me work harder!

My plan is 20 carbs a day, and I'm proud to say I haven't gone over 30 since I restarted!

Awwww, thanks Tony! I missed you guys too!!

Yes, that beautiful baby is my granddaughter Sarah.....she's 9 months old and without a doubt the most awesome little thing!!!!

Life has been hectic......but God is good, and we've rebounded well. I think just before I disappeared I had shared that I'd lost my job (and housing) very unexpectedly.....a hazard of managing apartment communities! I must confess that it threw me for a bit of a loop and left me reeling for a while.

We bought an RV and really enjoyed about a year of living in that full time while we regrouped.....we found 20 acres of GORGEOUS land in Northern AZ that we bought, and we parked the RV there with plans to build. Our son, daughter in law and the baby live there full time in their RV, and we go up every weekend. During the week we live a couple hours south, we have an apartment on site at one of the communities I manage.....I'm still managing apartments.....it seems to be my calling!

That's the last year plus in a nutshell.....but feel free to ask away, it has been a while!!

Tony, I read some of the last thread.....looks like you've got this grandpa thing down!!! Aren't those babies just the best???? Our son and D-I-L were expecting another (very quick work!) but they lost the baby last month.....that was hard, but they've handled it very well!

It's so nice to be back....I really have missed you all even more than I realized!

Oh Tammy! So happy to see you and you sound wonderful! Your little granddaughter is a doll! So glad you have a nice plot of gorgeous land and the your daughter and son in law live close by.

Welcome Gibbs and Grace! We are pretty loyal here and FF, Tony, Marilee, Vicki, Tammy and I have been around off and on since 2010. We are very supportive and non judgemental. Everyone has their own plan and we change it up if we are inspired to try something different.

I gained a pound last week from being on vacation. Vicki, I plan to get strict Tuesday also!

Tony, I do have to go back to work tonight. I have really enjoyed having so much sleep this week!

Happy New Year Marilee and all the Blitzers!

What a wonderful way to start 2017...the return of an old friend and two new ones!

I updated my stats...down almost 3 pounds. Tomorrow I go to ths bariatric surgeons office for a routine check up. I am hoping to get some concerns addressed and I'm glad my sister the nurse is going with me.

I can't wait to hit Onderland. I never thought I would do it.

marilee, i knew you could do it!...i'm so happy for you and your courage and determination has certainly inspired my recent motivation!...thanks!

abs, it's tammy's son and dil - hahaha...happy you got one more night off than i thought you had!...

tammy, well, that sounds like another interesting year...i did remember about that sudden job loss and the rv, but didn't remember you bought 20 acres...unless that happened later...happy you are working in a job you know so well...how far apart are you and marilee these days?...you need to get together again!

chris, it is amazing that you have lost 60 lbs. since july but understandable given your low carb will power...you will be a good example for the rest of us...i hope you will share your menus with us sometimes...i weigh on fridays - most weeks...in the past, i have let the scale discourage me at times, so i won't climb on if i KNOW it may be bad news!...haha

Grace and Chris, welcome aboard. We love having new people join our group.

Tammy, welcome back. I too have regained and am not pleased at all.

Marilee, You are doing awesome and I can't wait until you hit onederland, you deserve it. What issues need to be addressed?

Abs, Tony and ff this IS OUR YEAR!

For kicks and giggles I used a BMI calculator to see what weight at my height of 5'6" would take me to "normal" 154, not 155 because I would be overweight. Good grief. I think I was a baby when I weighed 154 LOL

Hello all.
Gibbs/ Chris is amazing..she is dedicated and she will make you laugh.
I started in Sept. Lost 41, but gained 2 over the holidays. So 39 for 2016.
My big motivator is how well my IBSd is under control on my WOE. I love the added bonus of losing weight and do get impatient at times, but how good my stomach feels is what makes me jump right back on track if I go off plan.
I stay in the 20 to 40 crab range.
I am a baker of any LC recipe that I can find I usually bake and cook at least one new recipe a week..and bake a regular arsenal of LC things for a weeks supply of my favorites.
I am fascinated by the seemingly endless foods I can have on my WOE.
This year goal wise is converting some C recipes to LC. Creating some original recipes. Get into a size 12..2 sizes to go. It is hard for me to pick a weight number goal. I see my surgeon in February and will talk with him about a healthy goal. When he is happy with my weight, then he will repair my hideously huge hernia babies. Both of them. The one gives my stomach a horrible pooching out tumor look. Will be glad to have it pushed flat.
I ramble alot as you can tell.
Gibbs and I are daily posters and she has been great support for me. Thanks for welcoming us both.

I need to be a daily poster and have been when I am doing well and on plan. I take a nose dive and leave when not on plan. I tend to stalk the posts but don't say anything. Hopefully, that will change now that I am gearing up to start tomorrow.

i work tonight at 7 and get off tomorrow at 7 am and again on Tuesday. Off Wednesday and work Thurs. I am only 3 days on this night schedule and where I work there has been tons of food. Patient's tend to give us food as a thank you ARGH.

However, we are starting a weight loss challenge where every one contributes $20 and when the contest ends the first of march, three prizes will be awarded by % lost. I will probably weigh in tomorrow morning. The secretary is doing the weigh in.

Grace is full of it! She's the one that's kept me on track. I don't how I would have lasted this long without the support of her and these boards.

I've been off and on low carb since 2000. And of course losing, gaining more than I lost, and over and over. I had a job interview July 12 and only had to walk a block from the parking spot I found to the building. OMG I was out of breath! How pathetic is that? The last question at my interview was, "What have you learned from this interview that will help you with this job?" Or phrased close enough. My answer, "That I have to diet now or the walk from the parking garage to here everyday is gonna give me a coronary!" (And yes, I got the job.)

And low carb is the only way the weight comes off and the thyroid behaves. The bad side, depending on how you look at it, is it turned me in to Fertile Myrtle.

My sister and I had made a bet months before the interview on losing weight, first one to lose 100# gets $100 from the other. Money is motivation! But for some reason it just wasn't enough motivation. But I caught up and passed her and don't plan on losing. Except the pounds!

I have my tough times, like yesterday fixing cheesy hash browns for the family. Or the pumpkin roll for Christmas. But luckily "just one bite won't hurt" doesn't compute.

I try to make 3-4 days worth of lunch for work on Sundays, then treat myself to lc fast food for Friday. I also am a Netrition addict, lc breads and bagels rock! Today's menu is cheese omelet, leftover roast with veggies, big salad for dinner.

And today's challenge will be the popcorn at the movie theatre.

Nope, didn't go to the movies, the older I get, the louder things get. Last time I went I actually took earplugs! And they were awesome, I didn't have a headache after it.

Also change of plans for lunch, I had a very yummy grilled cheese sandwich. Not quite 3 carbs total.

The old man and youngest offspring went to watch Rogue One. And the oldest is still at his buddies house. My plan for the day is laundry, fix my lunch for work, and of course football!

Have a good day!

Abi, it's so good to see you again!!! how was your vacation??

Tony, the land did come later, we bought it about 6 months ago.....I'm currently about 2 hours north of Phoenix, where Marilee is at.

Marilee, you are doing AMAZING...... when did you have the bariatric surgery?? Ive heard very mixed reviews about the surgery success, folks either love it and feel it's the best thing they've ever done, or they regret it.....it seems you're doing well!!

Vicki, I'm so glad you're back here too.....I would have been bummed if I'd come back and you weren't here!!

FF, so good to see you here too!!

Chris & Grace, welcome.....you couldn't ask for a better group of folks to hang with.....they truly are the BEST.....I've been gone for a while, but they are always here and so consistent......they're all very inspiring!!

Well kids, I bought a new bathroom scale, keto sticks, and loaded the fridge with all of the right foods.....I'm ready to do this!

Chris, I just picked up a metro from Walmart.....it's pretty cool though because it will track your weight for you as well as body fat. I've spent a small fortune over the years in scales for sure!

We made a super yummy chicken soup today.....boiled up the leftover chicken bones from a roasted chicken I'd made, added tons of fresh herbs....we added spiral pasta and some veggies for everyone else and I picked around the pasta, focused on the chicken and broth....it was sooooo good!! It's been cold and rainy, so it really hit the spot!!!

How's everyone else doing???

OK I have to Google that scale Chris.
Tammy that soup sounds really good.
Pretty good day carb wise. I usually just have keto coffee for breakfast.
Lunch was a grilled chicken salad and more chicken for supper. Family is having Spanish rice with theirs.
It is storming here, may have a keto cocoa tonight.

I didn't get a fancy one like that. I was afraid it would scream when I stepped on it!

I've done nothing but graze all day long. But only 14.25 carbs. All of my snackage was less than a carb each. Left over roast for dinner and I have enough left for 2 days at work, so no cooking today!

And the lc bread I had today, all of the fiber is starting to act up

Do you count sugar alcohols? I bought Atkins version of peanut M&M's, although haven't tried them yet. I don't count them but they do stall me if I have them regularly.

I've babbled enough, later!

It goes up to 400# and it's wide. My hubby is a big boy! I keep trying to get him to lc, but he loves his milk and pasta.

Chris I have never counted sugar alcohols, kind of like the fiber carbs. Some folks do total carbs though. I try to becareful with the sugar alcohols, like you..Stalls and stomach upset. I'm loving fat bombs right now.. I know what all I make them with and I put very little sweetener in them. This week's bombs are raspberry cream cheese deals. Like little bites of fluffy ice cream

Hey everyone. Checking in. I think this year I'm going to try to focus on fitness and improve my physical performance.switched gyms so going to the new one for the first time tonight. I'll still weigh in but not daily maybe not even weekly trying to stop being so scale obsessed.doing low carb while 30 so no processed foods, drinks, sauces. I took a new year body shot and measurements so at the end of each month I'll definitely make sure to weigh, measure, and compare a body shot. Not doing a weight loss new years resolution instead documenting it and sharing more and focus on fitness.

morning everyone!...

well, i am very impressed and inspired by our new blitzers - you girls have lost over 100 lbs. between you and if we add marille into the mix, the three of you lost over 240 lbs in 2016!...meanwhile, i am about 18 lbs. lighter than i was 6 1/2 years ago!...hahaha...which of course, is a lot better than 18 lbs. heavier...so happy you guys are here to lend your support and experience to the rest of us, while we do the same...

good day yesterday and off to another one today...hit the gym yesterday morning and did have an increased appetite last night and ate more than usual, but stayed on plan...

how's everyone else doing?

Crap, it's 1pm?! No wonder I'm starving. It has been a nutty day at work! I'm hangry!

I knew it!! As soon as I nuked lunch, at 1:10, my noon appointment showed up Almost 2 now and I just inhaled lunch!! And I forgot my butter/garlic concoction to dip my breadstick in!

Coffee and sausage links, 2 carbs
Brazil nuts, 1
Pork roast and a breadstick, 3
No clue yet

I'm ready to go home! The oldest has a wrestling meet today, and the old man bowls Tuesday's, so the kids might get fast food. If so, I'll get me a salad.

Guess lunch is over. Later!
