I agree that open discussion and the acceptance that we are all different, with our own needs, likes, health, life and age issues is vital to keep a group together.

This is possibly the best place I know of for just that.

Ailuros I have given up on a popular tracker as there is so much inaccuracy there.

It could be, but I was really thinking of keeping track of calories & macronutrients — although I’m not totally sure I want to get back into weighing every little thing. I’m tending towards pen and paper at the moment.

Quick post- DW is getting ready to take me to urgent care. I had TOM for almost the entire month of December- in fact it finally ended on 12/31. It was quite heavy all month. On Friday I woke up to TOM again and it's been dreadfully heavy. I'm pale, dizzy and weak and the bleeding is only getting worse.

Will try to update later.

Thank you all or the healing thoughts. The urgent care could not do much since they didn't have an OBGYN person there on Sunday. They said my blood pressure was a little low, but that's normal for me and they said I was taccycardic... I don't even know what that means, but they said I should go home and rest and if anything else gets worse go straight to the hospital. They put in a referral for me to have an emergency visit with a specialist at the practice tomorrow. I just need to call at 9am and they will tell me when to come in.

The nurse practitioner didn't believe me at first that I wasn't urinating blood, because she asked for a urine sample and it was full of blood, but she seemed to realize that I definitely knew the difference...

Thanks for the update, Carly - tho' it's not a satisfactory outcome for you as yet.

I can only hope for a swift referral for you.

ETA: As per Ailuros - tachycardia is a rapid heartbeat relative to your age and other factors but I'd be taken aback if you didn't have this in combination with your lowered blood pressure as it's a coping mechanism for it (so to speak).
NB - it can also indicate an irregular heartbeat - but that can also make sense given other factors.

It's a rough season for respiratory problems. Take care of yourself and I hope that your full court press of medication kicks in for you as soon as is practical.

Yes, here in the PNW we are being hammered. I know of 3 friends who did not work at all last week because they were sick. It motivated me to go get my flu shot yesterday.

I am so sorry to read this dear Barbo. Hopefully all the drugs will work their magic.

Carly all this is not good. Waiting to hear that you have seen the GP and have some sensible outcome.

DH and I are still coughing and all the rest. It seems to have gone on forever, but it's not serious we know, just have to stick it out.

Beowulf- I agree , I can eat a whole loaf of French bread and I can binge on rice too so I think there is something else at play too. With the bread gluten is said to be addicting so there's that. But it could also be the behavior itself no matter what the food is. I have a friend who said when she was formerly obese ( 350 , had gastric bypass) who said it did t matter what food it was , she could binge on canned green beans.

Kissa- hope your cold passes soon, I'm coughing still too!

Imoksoami- I hope you don't get Ill from the shot! I swear the only time I caught the flu was the year I had the flu shot lol!

Barbo- ugh I'm sorry to hear your so ill, speedy Recovery my friend!

Carly- yikes! That sound crazy scary! I hope your appointment results in some answers , maybe you need iron since your cycle has been going so long? Feel better soon!

Ailuros- calorie tracker apps help a lot but I used to do it the old fashion pen and paper way too, ain't nothing wrong with that!

Slow- what a great idea to take pictures of food for tracking purposes, it never dawned on me to do that! Especially on days where your to busy to log. then later on you can look at the pictures and go back and enter what you had instead of sitting there trying to remember. Genius!

to anyone I missed! It's poppin in here!

I had a good weekend, Saturday 2600 calories/ 25 net carbs , Sunday 2400 calories 22 net carbs. Results in 1.4 lb gain total for the weekend, I'm
Happy! I obviously could not eat like that everyday and lose but if I could come out of my weekends without a huge uptick I'm a happy camper! So for now I'm going to continue my 4:3 instead of EOD. I'm down 4 lbs out of the 8 lbs I was up from the holiday and hope by the end of this week to be down the other 4. I'm still coughing a lot from this dang cold so idk if I'll go to practice tonight my dd today will consist of lemon ginger tea , chicken broth and binge watching all my shows on Hulu !

Carly and Barbo- I hope you are better soon! keep us posted.

And all you coughing people out there, hope that clears up soon! I missed the flu shot this year because I was traveling for work. Now I wonder if I should go get one...

Ailuros- it is not a tracker but an on-line journal you can use for free (and you can also get it as an app on your phone) is penzu. I like to use this because if you forget your notebook or paper that you are using, you can just get on line and enter anything. (I also type faster than I write and it seems I am always at a computer so for me it works well).

SlimNana your avi makes me smile so cute

It is not even 10 AM yet and I'm hungry. I am blaming this on the chocolate binge from last night. I found a stash of Lindt truffles from Xmas and I just mindlessly ate them. UGH. as per my usual I did not weigh this morning (fear of the scale) but will see tomorrow what damage I did. And speaking of tomorrow, I just realized that for some reason I have a 3.5 hour meeting scheduled off-site and the place it is scheduled has a very good restaurant. So I have no doubt it is planned to be a breakfast meeting and full of things that I have trouble resisting (pastry). ARGH! when i eat breakfast like that it will just keep me hungry all day. I never understood how they started that whole campaign of breakfast being the most important meal of the day. I'm thinking maybe it was a cereal advertising exec that started that one.

It is super frigid cold (they are giving a high of 10 degrees for today) the last few days and no way I am getting in my steps today- I cut short the morning walk and it will be the same this evening. I wonder if the extreme cold is also increasing the appetite. Time to drink some hot water. brrrrrr

So far no appointment. It has been an agonizing 2 hour 15 minute process that left me in tears. If I don't hear anything in 45 minutes I'm just going to get back in my pajamas, get in bed and get myself set to go back to work tomorrow, because being out any time the rest week is not possible.

Ms. Carly- I am going to get all Mom on your a$$. If a health issue sent you to urgent care on the weekend then I think work can wait until you talk to a doctor. Since work weighs heavily on your mind I will mention that if you don't take care of an issue now you are potentially out of work a lot longer later.

Ok lecture is finished now

Carly- sigh just another way health insurance And the hoops they make you jump thru fail us! Sorry you are having a hard time getting an appointment. But Phoenix is right, you don't want to make things worse if you aren't feeling well and have that lead to needing more time off of work. Take it easy and keep trying to get in somewhere.

Phoenix-I have to say it would be hard to have free yummy foods constantly shoved in your face like they do so frequently at the work place. Having to turn it down all the time, yeah that's rough. Maybe the compromise is telling yourself you can partake once a week, or twice a month to limit the frequency but still be able to enjoy it sometimes? As for the truffles , bring them to work and throw them in the break room, waste vs waist and all that
