M&E Reboot for 2017

We all donít do Meat and Egg Fast M&E all the time, but this is where we got our roots and foundation. Many of us change things up trying new things to keep it fresh or keep things moving in the right direction. When things donít exactly move the right direction we just hug it out and keep moving. There are no rules as to WOE. We sometimes do challenges and sometimes just kibitz. We just support each other and never judge.

We try to keep moving doing Something every day. Whether it be walking, working out or yard/garden work, Yardening.

This is a place where friends become family and are forever known as Framily. All are welcome, old friends or new, whether you would like to stop by for a quick hello or stay a while.

So letís get things moving for the new year!

Awesome. M&E is most definitely the best way to reboot! I'll be starting the Dukan Diet Attack Phase which is essentially meat and eggs, except that Dukan allows non-fat Greek Yogurt, cottage cheese, and cream cheese.

I may wait and start Tuesday only because I have stew and chili that needs eaten up first! They consist of meat and veggies, so they are bad; just that they have the veggies.

Welcome Maria!

I'm starting Tuesday as well for the same reason. I'm doing Atkins '72, which is M&E with a couple small salads, 4oz cheese and green olives.

My somethings will be lifts/abs/squats and Slow burn.

I am in Terri. I love your intro to the m&e reboot , takes a lot of pressure off me when I do not worry about feeling like I have failed when I make changes at a meal or day where I eat more veggie, less meat, no meat ect....
That is not to say A72 or a strict meat and egg week would not do me some good! I have been getting serious carb creep and have gained back about 7 lbs, and we all know how quickly that can snowball. We are having a late Christmas celebration with out of state family on Saturday and I would really like to be back to goal before another dinner!

Awesome Jeanie! Glad you're here!!

I've fallen victim to the awful carb creep as well. I don't know how long I'll do strict '72, I'm doing it more to support DH, but it's a great way to get back on track. Since that's the way I actually prefer to eat anyway. You know me though, always the flibbertigibbet.

Hope you have a lovely late Christmas!

So ready to start fresh tomorrow! Be warned I am going to be a needy posting pia, cause my binge monster has been rearing it's ugly head lately!

Chicken, leftover chuck roast, eggs, olives, cheese, cream cheese and burgers bought and ready to cook or reheat, should be good to go for a few days!

Hi. My saying is I've lost and gained the same 30 pounds for years. So here I am again needing to lose 30 pounds. I'm going to try fasting along with high-fat low-carb. I want this to be the year I get the 30 pounds off and keep it off. I would love to try to maintain. So if it's all right with you guys I would like to hang around and see how we all do. With whatever woe we are choosing.

Welcome Dasiey!

Well I'm off and running with '72 today. Chicken salad, deviled egg & bacon. Pot Roast cooking at home to go with a small salad for dinner.

I don't know what the first two things are. And I can't take Advil due to stomach issues. I got 2 hours anyway now I'm up ready for work. I will try again tonight. Thank you

Valerian or Kava Kava are natural supplements that promote restful sleep. Sorry you had a bad night. Hopefully you make it through the day.

Third day of '72. Everything is going well. Losing the holiday bloat and cravings & hunger are all but gone. Iím still practicing IE and not having first meal until 11 or 12. Iíll do my first weigh in Saturday.

How is everyone else doing?

What helps me when I'm having trouble getting on track, is to plan extra special compliant meals and snacks. Like this week I precooked my favorite bacon and made ahead deviled eggs. For dinners I've had steak, shrimp salad and even made my own homemade Caesar dressing. The last thing I want when I struggling is ho hum. I plan to make crustless quiche next week and ham & egg salad.

You'll get this Buddy!

Maybe consider giving yourself an IE break for the weekend rather than beating yourself up.

Eat only if you're hungry
Stop when you've had enough (not full)
Eat only what you really want (in your tummy not your head)
Don't eat anything that's not truly fabulous

Then get your cooking prep done with a happy heart.

I will probably be okay tomorrow. I am bringing a turkey and there will be ham. This is my dh's side of the family and most of them are vegetarians so they eat fairly healthy. The one sister does bring dessert and the other sis makes cookies with applesauce which I have no trouble resisting

Happy 2017 All!

Hey Terri & All,
Thanks for starting this thread, Terri! I've been under the weather since the first, but starting to come around some, so not on any particular plan, just soft foods I can hold down (dang constipation and nausea, sorry TMI, plus flu, all sucks.) So as soon as I'm better, I'll get with the M/E and LC again. I wish all of you good luck! I'm in, but will check in later. Hugs.
Mae

Just marking this new thread. It helps me stay on track if I read what others are doing. If I don't get back under 200 soon I'm going to have to take some desperate measures. Just don't know what they might be, yet. Terri, I hope it doesn't feel like I'm stalking you. LOL

Hey whatever works. How was the late Christmas dinner?

I'm doing well 7th day of '72 with only slight indiscretions over the weekend. I weighed in Sunday and I was down 4# so pretty happy with this so far.

You inspired me to get my butt into gear, it has been a long time since I have done true low carb. Shopped today and bought steak, pork chops, fish, cheeses, olives, pork rinds and other low card goodies. Dh eats his carbs but he loves it when I cook low carb!
