SATURDAY'S ROLL CALL, Jan. 7

Cold and icy, but will warm up to the 30's Saturday. I think Silas will be staying overnight.

See you all in the morning. Trying to keep the heater on well, neighbors have warned me about not going too low for fear the pipes in the attic will freeze, had not even thought about that possibility here! Dang!

Brrr..... woke up to 18 degrees this morning! It's supposed to go into 30s later on - yikes!

Even so, I've several things planned for today - go to the bank, a meeting at church, the grocery store, make a navy bean, bacon, spinach slow cooker soup, and try to catch up on some house cleaning stuff.

Hope you all stay warm!

Will be back later to see what you all are up to,
Michele

Heavy rain with thunder and lightening during the night here. Its forecast to have freezing temps tomorrow morning. At least no snow!
Terrible shooting at Ft. Lauderdale airport yesterday. Susan, I'm glad your son checked in with you!
Michele, you are one busy gal on your day off.
Doris, isn't your house just one story? Why would there be pipes in the attic? Just curious.
Hi to all that follow, stay warm.

It's 6F right now with a promise of a high of 11F today.
To look out the window we have a beautiful clear blue sunny sky all the more reflected with the white snow all around. But a tad too cold outdoors for me today.
Desi runs out and runs right back in after his potty breaks. Ha!

Thank Julie, Yes, I was relieved that my son let me know that he was safe. He had a friend flying in and would have been at the airport picking him up at that time.
His friend's plane was diverted to Tampa so the guy had to rent a car and drive across State. Thank goodness they re routed those planes.

Michele, Enjoy your weekend off. Time to catch up on your own stuff huh?

Waving to All and hope to check back later...

Susan, how scary, and I bet your son's friend is now more than happy that his plane was diverted and he had to rent a car and drive! Your description of the weather sounds about right for your part of Canada, lol. Yes, I remember our bulldog hurrying out to get her business done, and hurrying back in, and she looked funny at us if we had not had time to clear the snow away!

Julie, here in this part of TX, the ground has clay and is too time consuming to dig so we have cement foundation and the pipes are in the attic, we had that up in the mountains of Calif, too. It's just the way they do it. In the San Jose, Bay area, we did have a foundation there, and people had to crawl under the house, which is also a bummer if you need something repaired.

Michele, bet you will be glad by Tuesday, when you should also be in the 70's!! Get out those sleeveless tops, lol.

I think Silas will be coming this afternoon, late or evening, but not sure, they are busy over there, too. Haven't heard a peep out of them, but son came home early from work yesterday afternoon due to ice on all the overpasses and traffic jams and he used the side roads.

I'm trying to get Birthday mail out now, and going to send my cousin in the outskirts of Berlin mail in German, so I had best get started because it takes me a long time to do that. His computer is so very old, that it's not reliable anymore to send emails to him. He lives in what used to be East Germany, and lives in a tiny cabin like place, that might be the problem, too.

Have a good day, friends!

It was 11 degrees this morning, but the sidewalks look ok for walking. Sun is out but have not seen one single soul out walking, usually by now, there would be at least 5 people out by now.

Babette, how are you and John doing, how is your weather?? Did you get more snow?

Hi Monika!
Nice to meet you. And welcome to our little group here.
I am in central Florida where it's cold and rainy today. Can't complain too much because it is winter, after all.
Good luck on losing your last 20 lbs...

hi Monika, so nice to have you join in with us Goldens.
Be patient with yourself and do what works best for you.
I take a fiber supplement and have been for years. Just see how it goes. Fiber is a helper to prevent constipation.

Susan that sure is hitting close to home for your DS. How scary it is to travel anywhere or go to a Mall.

We had a total of 7║ this am. It has warmed up to 28 now. Plenty of nice healthy sunshine. the roads were clear when I traveled to the city to work at the Hospice Care Center. Phone did not ring once.

Michele sounds like a busy day for you, hope you get it all accomplished.

Hope Ginny enjoyed the Neil Diamond show.

Julie are there activities planned in your sub division this weekend?

Well, today is going well.....NOT

DH is in ER. Yesterday, he developed a sudden severe pain in his foot. It was even worse this morning, so he took himself to the ER. I am dressed and ready to go should he need me or be unable to drive. We live only 5 minutes from the hospital, and being there is really hard for me with my extreme allergy to people's scented personal care products. When i had pneumonia the summer before last, my doctors kept me out of the hospital with oxygen, etc at home for that reason.
Anyhow, so far he has had an x-ray and is on way for an ultrasound as ER doctor concerned about possible blood clot.
Getting old is really getting old......
