My experiences with sucralose
Jan 5th I believe I was 154 lbs.
Jan 9th under 144. I lost 10 lbs in 4 days. How ???? I cut out Sucralose. And aspartame too. But I was eating a lot more sucralose than aspartame. I had tea and coffee with HWC yesterday. And salt and lemon 7th and 8th. And I had fats on 7th but not on 8th. 5th -7th I had tea with hwc, and no coffee, yesterday I had lots of coffee ... Only common factor is No sucralose and aspartame. I am OK with holding water, I don't think sucralose makes me gain weight, but the 3-4 days after stopping it - watch out if your pants are on the loose side. You're gonna need suspenders as insurance. I'm getting to what I thought could be my target weight, but I still have some golf ball sized fat handles I can grab, if those don't go, I'll be continuing the fasting, and not go to the 60 hour fast, then eat window I was planning to on 1st feb. Splenda is 95% dextrose and maltodextrin. Sorta entirely missing the point of a carb free sweetener. Straight sucralose - yea, that is better, but didn't matter, I got 16oz of 25% (AKA way stronger than the publix version) and obviously, now I cant eat it. Or I'll try adding it when I find I am losing weight @ my target weight and eating once in say 24 hour window. Let me see if that helps.

Also if anyone wants to do sucralose remember this rather lop sided experiment and some benefit it has given us.
Apparently they gave people sucralose followed by a big dose of sucrose. And those people had a larger insulin spike than the ones that just for sucrose. To mimick the tendency of people to eat a 400 calorie burger + 600 calorie super sized fries and diet coke - OK fair enough. Those that got sucralose+sucrose = Bigger insulin. Now since insulin only lasts ~12 hours, and sucralose even less in your body, its a good idea to only have sucralose when you're not eating for 12+ hours after it. AKA, when fasting. Maybe I have been fasting but eating fat, and sucralose+fat = bigger insulin than just fat. Fat does cause a small insulin response, but butter and cream is like nearly 0 when casein is huge, over a 100. Time to properly experiment after the 13th buffet trip. I'll do sucralose for 6-7 days and quit on the 20th - plenty of time for the water to start to leave before the next meal on 23rd. Seriously the sucralose makes life so much easier on fasts, and atleast, I am not hitting Splenda, pure sucralose baby.
I'd only be doing Splenda in tea and HWC and pepperoncini brine. So no other junk. No coffee, no butter and oil and mayo and mustard etc etc. Not even lemon and salt those few days. Yea brine has salt, but I use it just as a palate cleanser, I take so tiny tiny amount of it. A warm week coming up, should help. Thanks. Srinath. |

Still stuck @ 143-144. I am planning a 60 hour sucralose and water fast. So only tea with HWC, sucralose, water and pepperonchini water as a cleanser. Let me see how it works. I'll stop it 12 hrs before my doc and lab tests and not be having anything else in this window. 7 am today to 7 pm Thursday the 12th. Let me see. Will post observations here. No vitamins, salt, lemon juice.

Was 144 today too. And for the next 60 hrs (actually started 7 am today - ends 7pm Thursday) FAST stands for Free Acid Sucralose Tea.
It used to be Fat, Acid, Salt, Tea (in my earlier interpretation). Lets see what I weigh on 13th. Thanks. Srinath. |

I've had one big cup of excellent tea @home (cardamom, ginger, clove) and 1 small decent cup with cinnamon - which I don't like, with HWC and sucralose. I am not having the next cup till I get back home ~3:30 or later - 2 hrs.
I am craving a tiny spoon of olive oil. This is bad, I didn't even know I could be craving EVOO. In a bit, if I get desperate, I'll try my MCT oil. but so far, its specific to OO. Thanks. Srinath. |

Had 2 more big cups with HWC and sucralose yesterday, 7 qts of water. 2 oz of pepperoni brine and 1/2 oz ACV.
Woke up this morning .5lb heavier after a bad night of insomnia. Maybe not related, I've had worse Insomnia before. Jan 11th, 5 am Tea with Sucralose and HWC. 6 am 1/2 tsp olive oil and 1/2 tsp mayo, mustard mix. Let me see how today goes, I have 36 hours to observe. Thanks. Srinath. |

Jan 11th, had 8 cups with sucralose. 1 coffee and 7 tea, all with HWC and a squirt of sucralose. I am done for the day and in 2 hrs I plan on being asleep, if I get paged for work, I guess I'll get disrupted ZZZZ's.
All caffeine done by 6 pm, hopefully I am not hit by Insomnia tonight too. Also had some pepperoncini brine, some cloves of garlic (maybe 2 rather old and anaemic looking) and a few sips of Olive oil. Basically the FAST = Fat, Acid, Sucralose and Tea Fast. Yea I know Garlic has traces of carbs. But these things were dried to oblivion and I was eating tiny morsels to shock my taste buds into liking sucralose again. I stop tasting it as sweet after the first sip. It snowballs very very quick. I wonder how much sucralose is in a atkins shake. Those taste sweet all the way through. Oh yea, weighed 145 ~1hr ago, with lots of water in my belly. Hope that = I am dropping weight and not gaining. Thanks. Srinath. |

Lemon and salt, and more oils, and Cal mag zn, K and B, plus more of the mayo spread.

Well 2am-4:45 am I did sleep, and woke up with a light headache. Nothing unusual, final 12 hr of this sucralose experiment.
144.5 was this morning's weight with ~6oz water in the previous 2hrs. More sucralose going in till ~7pm tonight. Doc apt tomorrow with possible post prandial. Thanks. Srinath. |

One problem with sucralose - I think. I am on my 5th big cup today. I downed 7 (4 small and 3 big + 1 small coffee yesterday all sweetened with sucralose.
With Sugar I cant go over 4. I also would start to progressively want less and less sugar in the same cup. I could develop a method to put in more tea/milk mixture in the cup as I drink. Like put 10gm in a 1/2 cup, and keep the other unsweetened 1/2 hot, and take 1-2 sips, and add that amount from the other one, could cut my sugar intake in 1/2. Thanks. Srinath. |

After lots of sucralose - 7-8 cups worth through 8pm on 12th, I weighed in ~141.5 on the 13th morning. I am ready to exonerate sucralose at this point.
Atkins shakes cause people to stall either due to the whey in them causing a massive spike in insulin or due to the acesulfame in it. Or something else. It is torture to deny yourself and not see nothing happen. But I think I have the aspects of it dissected out. For me atleast. Thanks. Srinath. |
