Are Eggs and Kefir gonna do it for me?

I'm trying to figure out how low carb it would be to pretty much stick with those two foods. Kefir is home made from goat milk, eggs are my own free range. I suspect the kefir might be higher in carbs than I need, but can't find info. Help, please!

Hi Ellie,

Eggs are GREAT.....a staple around here, so go for it. Kefir on the other hand can get pretty carb-y......so be careful. The higher the fat content the better, but still be careful. If you make your own kefir, perhaps you might explore making some cheese?? It might be a better option?!?! Either way, best of luck to you on your journey. There's LOTS of great info and support here. Check out the threads in the main lobby, that's where most folks tend to gravitate.....also look at the support / challenge groups!

I think Kefir made of goat milk might be higher in carbs than the one made of cow milk, so be careful. It tastes really good, I am sure, I used to drink a lot of Kefir when I lived in Greece. The food there is highly addictive and fatty, but still you can eat kefir or greek yogurt mixed with vegetables, tzatziki. I loved my mornings there, I had a very nice view from my terrace on the island of Corfu!
