I've used it in shakes too, but mainly for DH. For the most part I don't care all that much about the thickness of shakes. Even prior to Medi I was a pretty "plain Jane" cook, so never made too many sauces. Now I'm trying to make more new things. I even avoided making some of my old stand-bys because I couldn't thicken them right (like gravy, or some soups).

Txntv I have not tried Guar Gum YET......it's on my list to buy when I have a bit more $$$
