Bloodhound your resting heartrate is awesome. Mine's higher than that when I'm dead asleep! (Liked your post)

Well Terri, so you went backwards a little. Ok.

So get after it already!!

We're here for support, right??

So you like to eat, waah waah. Your food never is more fun than when you deprive yourself of it a little.

So Terri B (IF... that's your REAL name!!.....) I'm expecting a great end to this month. (Spank?? Spank??)

Now for the serious part: food IS like a drug. I agree. It still makes me sad to see the walking dead, lumbering about, trying to smile and act normal....every step hurting.

I don't hate them.

see, I AM them! well....I was them. More than once too.

Lets all keep a hammering.

<late edit> HOLLY! YOU ARE DOING JUST AWESOME! I'll bet you are feeling great too!

Terri, we GOT THIS!!!!

My daughter made me get a glucose test and BP check. She wants her son/daughter to have a MomMom! My glucose was 97 and my BP was 156/105 EEEK! I know this will change as I lose weight but another incentive to get going.

Happy Wednesday everyone

Keep being the light. I tell many people about how successful you have been, and how I'm having success as well. We are planting seeds, they may not listen to us, but we've put that thought in their head, and as they see our amazing transition from fat caterpillars to beautiful butterflies (in your case, dull moth), they will be inspired!

Day 1,497,205... err I mean 9. I'm hanging in. Broth helped but this is by no means fun anymore. I wanna quit but at the same time determined to either get to Friday next week when DH comes home or 285 to solidify below 300 lbs (and then we can celebrate). Today there's is no option of food as I'm stuck in a dealership getting the minivan checked. I noticed a check engine light this morning and you just know that means $$$$ disappearing from my purse. Bah.

I'm now curious from all the banter to check my blood pressure.. assuming I can find the doohickey thing tonight I'll have a check.

Well that all for now.. I'm off to stare at walls and try to hear the faint voices coming from the tv over the louder radio playing while wasting my dayway in a surprisingly comfortable chair.

Biking!

So, I had to get something at the grocery store today, so I decided I was going to ride my bike!

It was only a couple of miles, but that was enough to remind me of the importance of some padded shorts for the "nether regions".

And yes, my backpack is pink, don't judge! It was the only one I could find.

Other goals for this month - Just bought a home gym so... 3 days a week on that and ride my bike to work at least two days a week. That oughta do it. OH and start tracking my food better.

9/2 - 171.4
9/3 - 170.8
****
9/8 - 173.4 back where I started
9/9 - 172.6
9/10 - 172
9/11 - 171.4
9/12 - 170.2
9/13 - 170.2 Was Perfectly On Plan today but ate a bit more than usual[/B]

Shannon, It looks like you ARE back on track. Hope you feel better, do you think it's keto flu?

Wow Terri, what a comparison. You'll get back there!

Bronwyn, Hang tough! Like Michael said......Resist!

And Holly, you just keep chugging along, putting up impressive numbers. And nice pics!

Yeah Stan, I so want to preach the word especially when I'm at the grocery store), but so far I've resisted. The one person who ASKED me, was amazed at how much weight I've lost, I hadn't seen her in a while. When I told her I cut out all sugar and sweeteners......she literally rolled her eyes. And when I told her no carbs, she literally shook her head. She said she could "never" do that. Having just purchased my lunch at the deli, I said, " But look what I can eat!"

She replied that she "knew" but could still never do it. I'll keep working on her

Speaking of Ketovangalism (or whatever Holly said), yeah I try to refrain as well. There is another lady in the office here needing it BAD. She's always complaining about needing to diet blah blah blah. I've ALWAYS been supportive and tell her what I do, and I get the same "I just can't do that".

Well Today, she informed me that she, and another (MUCH slimmer) co-worker are going to be cutting carbs. I told her I was always in her corner and I'll be her cheerleader. She said "yeah, but I still can't do what YOU do, but we're gonna start at 60 carbs a day and take it from there" I said "GOOD FOR YOU!"

My little devil on my left shoulder said "hehehehe, it's ON. Let me show these chicks how it's done!!"

Challenge accepted!!

Oh, and instead of weighing, they are going to use pants as their unit of measure and their goals.

Holly, yeah, that's GREAT! But you don't ONLY use pants as your unit of measure!

They mentioned this when I said "did you get your starting weight? I mean you don't have to tell anyone, but you want to know at least your starting point".. . Slimmer co-worker piped up and said "instead of weighing, why don't we go by pant sizes"???

For me, I need that daily weight. I need that accountability. If I went by pant size, it would be a LONG time before I could achieve any success, because most of the clothes I have been wearing are too small to start with. Now they are WAY more comfortable to wear and slightly too big.

Terri - I love your challenge accepted comment. I have a family friend who like literally never tried dieting for longer than a week who is super big. She recently got bariatric surgery. I decided to accept such a challenge myself and want to show her how much weight I can lose within a similar time. I'll see her at Christmas and I'm sure she will be quite a bit slimmer and looking good, and for that I'm happy for her. And she will most definitely be getting compliments but I can't wait to see her face while I get compliments too for how I'm looking and bonus is I can still drink fizzy drink or a giant plate of low carb/keto food if I want and heck I can even have a slice of cake without getting the sweats or dumping syndrome. I know it is stupid to be competitive with her but she was so smug when she visited me last summer telling me how she was going to do this and how it was going to be so easy and how because I didn't have a doctor I couldn't get into the program and even if I did she was so far ahead in the process and would be skinny by the time I got through. Needless to say I've looked into it and I'm very against the procedure as it is not a long term fix and it is just as much hard work and can arise in serious complications. *rant over.

Car only took just over an hour. Nothing wrong so no charge, just something wrong with the old code for the warning light? Possible leak found that will be future problem but under warranty for another three years so no biggie. Got oil change done too so yay.

I tend to agree here. I didn't get fat because of some medical issue, I got fat because of terrible habits. That surgery doesn't fix those bad habits.

I would be interested to see the statistics around the number of people that relapse back into obesity after having this surgery, but I bet the MDs keep that stuff hidden.

That was definitely something I was looking into, weight gain after.. it seems that after the initial loses it is most definitely possible. They learn to eat around the restrictions, stretch stomach tissue, eat often, eat and vomit on purpose, slowly get back into bad patterns. Also the procedure only estimate an average loss of something like 30 percent, average. They have the most success with keto diets and watching calories.. well duh, of course they lose weight. And if you get he bypass there are severe consequences to eating non keto.. which if you were 800lbs might be a good idea but for an average person, no matter your WOE, you should be allowed to indulge once and a while (not everyday!) and then move on. Normal healthy, slender for life people do that. I could never imagine being told I could never ever ever again have anything sweet. But I'm okay with telling myself each day 'not today'. Also I was concerned on long term issues with getting nutrients as I age, my grandmother lived to 107 so I might be around a while.

5'7.

I used to be 5'8 but ... apparently I'm shrinking.

That being said I do have medical issues that help me pack away fat extra efficiently, PCOS and no gallbladder. But thankfully PCOS should resolve and go dormant at a lower weight. Still not enough of a reason for me.

Holly - I'm shrinking too! I used to be 5'9" now 5'8.5" though I haven't measured in a few years.. hrmmm.. project for tonight..

I havent had a gallbladder since 2012 ... I have far less issues on a keto diet. (And I had the dreaded "dumping syndrome" after the removal. Zero issues now.)

I lost my gallbladder 2005, doctor told me to avoid fats.. so I did. Got fat from carbs. Went to low carb, all issues resolved. No running to the toilet, and no phantom gallbladder attacks. So yeah, worst advice from a doctor!
