APRIL'S NO FOOLING AROUND!!!

Just thought I would get Apri's thread ready. Gals it has been rough for me with finding my brother and now learning that tge Drs give him maybe 4 yrs. To live .He had his bladder removed and also his colon removed from waist down he'a mess. Thank God that at least its yrs and not months he has. Of course going through chemo and radiation isnt a walk in the park.

On top of that I Ve quit smoking as of Palm. Sunday . The cravings are real bad with all this emotional stress thus my eating is out of control. Trying to get back in the saddle again .

it's a lot to deal with. Good for you for quitting smoking. That has to be tough, but you know it's really important for your long-term health. Keep fighting the good fight. Feed yourself delicious, nurturing, healthy food. You need good fuel to keep going through all this. Eating junk just makes you feel junky and gets you in the cycle of craving more. You deserve better than that.

DH and I spent the weekend cleaning, painting and redoing our bedroom. Whew, it was a lot of work, and I'm still reorganizing my closet that I emptied etc. DH is hanging the new curtain rod and curtains as I speak. Every so often I sing a few bars of Love Shack. One of the things I love about throwing myself into a project is that I can forget about food for awhile.

Connie: good for you on the no smoking!

Jesse: I love having a "new" room to be in, just hate making it get that way; but you're right, projects like that DO take your mind off of food. I'll be re-painting one of the bathrooms this spring.

Chrystee: You are doing fantastic. Pretty soon you'll be ready for a full marathon!!

I got back from my Tennessee vacation very late on Sunday night.... I'm up 1.6 pounds I know it will come off quick, though, and hopefully the rest of the 30 pounds I need to lose will be gone over the next few months, also.

Hang in there. I am so sorry to hear about your struggles, but trust me, in many ways I am right there with you.

Hi to everyone. I am back to plodding along, one day at a time. I am trying to see, with very careful eating and daily exercise, just how much I can lose in a week. I am hoping for at least 5, but know every pound lost is a victory. I've put on a lot and I know it will take a while to get it off...just want to feel more comfortable in my skin so it is easier to exercise, etc... Figured a week of boot camp isn't a terrible idea.

HT~ good to see you ! I'm to the point of enough is enough! Yes ,I want to look good for my trip in June but, the benefits of eating what I need to keep healthy . That's what matters most to me now . I can tell you that mindless junk eating pulls you down in so many ways and its not worth it.

There will be about 20 people over here tomorrow to celebrate my husband's birthday. I love cooking for other people and entertaining in general, but I hate hate cleaning. Why am I so bad at this? Every time I get a raise I say I'm going to use the money to get a cleaning service.... And every time we find something else that needs the money. Sigh, maybe next time. At least I'm getting exercise and I can't snack while I'm up to my elbows in pet hair removal.

Me too, and it wasn't even my birthday. After eating birthday cake and downing a few beergaritas at my husband's birthday party, I had the worst reflux yesterday, haven't felt a burn like that in years. Detoxed and ate pretty bland today, feeling much better.

One of my very fit friends says hands down the Pilates reformer is the best thing she has found for firming up and building strength.

Even though I still have 30 pounds to lose, I changed the goal on my weight tracker to reflect a goal of a 15 pound loss by end of June; maybe this way it won't seem so daunting to lose just 15 at a time, instead of thinking about the whole 30.
I've also been walking every day since the weather finally warmed up here last week and most of the snow is gone. It might only be 2 miles a day right now, but anything is better than nothing!

I live for my chai tea. I like mine with a little fairlife milk (extra protein, less carbs than normal milk) and sugar free torani sugar free syrup.
Congratulations on remaining smoke free. Huge accomplishment!
