Wow - breaking a long fast with that heavy of a meal!! All Keto so that's good, and you've been using bone broth so your body has been running on fat stores from your body and a bit of protein from the broth, so no major adjustments there. I'm really curious however about how your body responded. No stomach cramps, nausea or any other digestive issues issues??

Glad everything worked out so well - the leg cramps were most likely due to low potassium, so I would recommend that you really load up on high potassium foods before you start your next round of fasting.

Best wishes!
It surprised me but the cramps have always been an issue when I am losing weight. I was taking plenty of magnesium but I will load up on my electrolytes like you suggested.

The omelette choice was quite funny... I did eat it over the space of about 2 hours a little at a time but had no cramps or anything. As you say, omelette is mostly fat and protein so it shouldn't be a surprise that it wasn't a shock to my system.

In fact, now that I am eating again I realize that I feel exactly the same when I am fasting as when I am not.

I am eating to up my nutrients etc. and then will continue fasting. My refeed has really shown me that fasting is by far the best way to burn my body fat, it just feels so natural to me.

Somebody asked how I felt about the long fasting period, refeed and then long fasting period? For me the refeed just gives your body a bit of a rest and as long as I eat plenty of nutrients I should be able to lose quickly again when I continue fasting.

I feel that LCHF is the way to go as then you don't have to make much of an adjustment when it comes to fasting again.

Mary, I have been getting email notifications of his blog posts all through Sept. I wonder why you are not getting them?

I'm down 8.5 pounds in a week!

An awful lot of people have wonderful results with that type of program and it would let you eat lunch/dinner with your husband and family at least 5 times a week. Plus, your days are flexible so if you wind up with a social commitment on your fasting day you just switch the fasting to another day.

Just a thought. Best wishes.
I have in the past. As a matter of fact, after eating on Friday I fasted all day Saturday until dinner last night. Ate dinner with DH and I'm fasting again today. I may eat dinner tomorrow night and then again I may not.

I'm leaving town tomorrow morning and going to a destination wedding for a week. I'm going to be with a crowd all week long and can foresee lots of group meals that I'll have to deal with. I may try to stick with one meal a day, keeping it pretty light and low carb, if I can. I probably won't be checking back in until I'm home. Not sure what the wifi situation will be.

Best wishes to you all!

This is weird. It looks like Dr Fung may have a new website?
I knew I had received emails of new posts but when I went to intensivedietarymanagement website, the last post IS Aug 30.
So I went back to the email and now his emails link to IDMprogram.

Anytime I try to go to Intensive Dietary Management I get the new site. If you click on Blogs you get his new posts, but I really wish I could still access the old one to read some of the archived posts. I just can't find the old site no matter how I try.

That really is weird. My google search gives me half a dozen references to JF's old site and I have to really search to find his new one. And when I click on IDM, I get the old site....

Anyway, I've seen the new one and caught up on three new posts. Glad to be back in the loop!

Maybe they are in the process of moving things to their new site? Yesterday I could get on both sites. Not today. Just the new one.

I didn't know about the new site either, but I found it yesterday and the series of blog posts on cancer has been fascinating.

Someone else said that they thought the old posts were being moved to the new blog, so maybe that's it. I have a link that takes me to the old site, but for some reason, it only goes up to 2014. None of the posts after that are there. He had so many posts about diabetes that I liked to go back and read over. I guess I will just have to be content with the new blog, and appreciate the fact that it's still available at no cost.

He has a new podcast too. I have not listened but I believe it is introduced on the podcast by the 2ketodudes.

It looks like all old blog posts have been moved to Fung's new site.
The format is different but I found all the posts for IF and others that I looked for.

Day 5

I'm just on day 5 and consuming ~200-300 cal a day as pure fat (BPC/T mainly), and on the 5 completed days I lost about 8lb.
However I tend to lose 3-4 lb a day in previous fasts.
Why is it less.

Second question is - I seem to be getting heavier but smaller. As in, I was at my current weight 3 months ago, but was fitting 34 jeans like a sausage skin.
Now 34's are on there courtesy the belt.
6 months ago I was 35" or so.
10 months ago - well I don't know but I still had my 40's and 42's I was wearing over long johns.

Has the serial fasting and the increased HGH built up heavier body parts like bone and muscle ?
Thanks.
Srinath.

Absolutely you've added muscle - how exciting is that!
The 3-4 pounds per day that you lost previously consisted of a great deal of water and other non-fat losses. Even 8 lbs. in five days is not likely to all be from fat stores.

Congratulations on your successes. You've made stellar progress.

Started last Monday & have questions...

I stopped eating Sunday night at 10 pm. The next morning I had coffee & heavy cream. During the day I had a couple of cups of Beef Bullion & Sugar free Iced tea & water. I didn't eat again until about 1 or 2 pm Tuesday. I do this every other day, three days a week. Down 2 lbs the first week. Am I doing this right? Thanks for any suggestions or opinions.
