The recipe was also induction friendly. Will try finding it. And it was a way to use up egg yokes when you used a recipe using egg whites.

On another note...
In a few posts back you said that China doesn't have an active space program right now. Just curious about that. My DH works for NASA and I asked him when China's space program become inactive. He looked at me like I had two heads. He said that they are very active and that they are on schedule to put their own space station in orbit in 2020 when we take ours down. He also said somethings about their rocket program and going to the moon. I wished our program had realistic goals like that. I mean going to Mars sounds good and all, but I feel we need to get a vehicle that can take us back to the moon first. Anyways no worries about it I was just curious. !
Wow really! This actually doesn't surprise me. The people I think are out of the loop on alot of things. Kylie (one of our guests) actually told me they don't have an active space program. I didn't know otherwise. I figured China would celebrate this sort of thing so she would know. Maybe she just meant the museum when she said that? Broken English is sometimes confusing. She also said she had a Facebook a few years ago. I asked her why they don't have Facebook in China anymore. She shrugged and said, something like, maybe they don't have an account or the account wore out. I didn't push it because I'm pretty sure the government is blocking it somehow. They use WeChat.

So funny...Facebook had a recipe posted today with low carb flan! It calls for some weird sweetener that super expensive. I'll post it if someone wants me to.

Creamy Low Carb Flan
Ingredients
• 1 cup Natvia divided (Swerve or other sweetener works too)
• 1/4 teaspoon blackstrap molasses
• 1 3/4 cups heavy cream
• 1 cup water
• 5 eggs
• 1/8 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. In small saucepan, heat 1/2 cup Natvia with blackstrap molasses on medium-low until melted. Once melted, stir to blend and quickly pour into the bottom of a 2-quart round baking dish or 9.5 inch deep dish pie pan. Let stand for about 10 minutes.
2. In medium saucepan, heat cream and water to a boil. Remove from heat.
3. In medium bowl, whisk together eggs, salt, and 1/2 cup Natvia. Stir 1 cup of warm cream mixture into egg mixture. Return all to pan and mix well. Stir in vanilla. Pour over the carmelized Natvia in the prepared pan.
4. Place baking dish in a larger baking pan. Fill larger pan with boiling water to a depth of about 1 inch.
5. Bake at 325°F for 55-60 minutes are until center is set (mixture should wiggle a bit). Remove baking dish with flan and set on a wire rack. Allow to cool for about an hour then place in refrigerator to chill completely. Run a knife along the edge of the baking dish to release the sides of the flan and invert onto a rimmed serving plate. Store in refrigerator.

I kinda figured it was something one of your guests said. You would think they would celebrate it. Of course the United States doesn't celebrate it like they used to in the 60's either. Like I said no worries. I was just curious.
Also I just made a bulletproof hot chocolate. I will post the recipe tomorrow. It's easy and delicious!
OMG LoL at "the account wore out" I could just hear her saying that in her accent.

This is the recipe for Quiche Lorraine

Quiche Lorraine

1 lb bacon, cooked and chopped
1 lb frozen broccoli cooked and chopped
12 eggs
1/4 cup water
1 & 1/2 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
12 oz. Swiss Cheese, shredded and divided

Put the cooked bacon, the broccoli, and 8 oz. of the cheese in the bottom of a greased 12x13 pan. Beat the eggs with the water. Add the cream, salt and pepper and beat. Pour the egg mixture over it. Sprinkle the other 4 oz. of cheese on top.
Bake at 360* for 45 mins. Test with a butter knife.

I make a package of Knorrs Hollandaise Sauce and spread it on top AFTER it has cooled. Not many carbs IF you make it with 2/3 water and 1/3 HWC.

Some other combinations are:

Browned Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Mozzarella Cheese, and LC Marinara Sauce either under the top layer of cheese or poured on top after it’s baked.

Cooked chicken (cubed), Broccoli, Cheese, etc.

You can do any combination of anything you like to change things up. Just always use 12 eggs, about 12 oz. cheese (whatever kind will go with the other stuff you are using), and 1 & 1/2 cups Heavy Whipping Cream.

Just be SURE to BUTTER the glass cake pan so it doesn’t stick. You don’t want to leave any of that goodness stuck to the pan.

Here's one I haven't tried yet, but am going to make it this week. I'll let you know how it turns out. It sounds really good.

Green Chili Cheeseburger Quiche

2 lb ground beef, cooked and drained
12 Eggs
1/4 cup water
1 & 1/2 Cup heavy whipping cream
12 oz. shredded Monterey Jack cheese
2 small cans diced green chilies (or diced fresh)
salt and pepper to taste
Any other seasonings you like (Chili powder, cumin, paprika, etc.)

Beat eggs and water. Add cream and beat until smooth, add in cheese, chilies, spices, and ground beef. Mix well with a spoon...not the beater. Pour into a greased 12x13 baking dish and bake at 360* for about 45 minutes.

Good morning all!

Well I'm home from my trip, working hard to get back into ketosis.....I picked up a few pounds from the travels, but hopefully once I get back into kestosis they'll shed pretty easily!

Judy, those quiche recipes look wonderful, I'm going to have to try that....I especially like the idea of topping it with some hollandaise!!

Bloodhound, nice job dropping into a new decade!!!

Nice job on all of the losses.....you guys are rock stars!!

Tami, it can be very frustrating when you know you're doing everything right and the scale refuses to cooperate....it WILL catch up though, you'll get a nice Whoosh....and I'll bet anything you're losing inches!!

Ang, I used to have a fabulous low carb creme' brulee recipe I'll have to try and find....it was soooo good!

Terri, Olive Garden!! So hard to behave there!!!

Ok folks, let's have a rocking Monday and do this!!

Well I'm here to face the music. I went to the dark side this weekend. Last Thursday I was all talk about going back on induction but had a rough day and really wanted wine to relax and enjoy at the party Thursday night. The entree was also stuffed baked potatoes and I couldn't resist. I did keep it small though. So then my head went to that bad place where if I know I'm going to try to get really strict, I need to eat yummy treats while I can. NOT GOOD! I didn't eat that much but I did eat sugar so I feel like a lot of the weight is water. I feel really bloated. Back at it again today. Hoping to stay really clean for a few weeks before I have to face all of the temptations again.

Bloodhound - YAY ! You made it to the 220's. I hope to meet you back there again soon. Way to go - sticking to it!

Angie, CanadianGirl and Sick_n_tired - you are all doing so great. Wonderful results this month.
Teresa - You are doing great too! KUTGW

Well, it's a happy day!! 50 lbs lost!

I wish I liked Quiche more, I just don't really love eggs. Only way I don't mind them is fried or boiled but even that I get tired of.

Happy Monday all!

Judy,

I can't wait to try the green chili cheeseburger quiche. It sounds so good and I have all the ingredients. I will probably use cheddar cheese cause that's what I have on hand.

sick_n_tired Wow, your weight loss is inspiring, keep up the great work!

kitkat Thanks, I'm trying to catch you but you keep moving away just kidding. You are keeping me encouraged because we were so close in weight that I know if I stick to it I can get down.

groovygiirl on your weight loss, how exciting, you've got this!

I made a low carb pizza last night from a recipe I found online - it's a pork rinds one.

If anyone is interested, I'll post it.

IT WAS AWESOME! (If there's one thing I know, it's pizza ... Chicago born and raised!)
