Restarting Induction over the Weekend

So here it is the beginning of February and I haven't started Induction as planned the beginning of the year. I've had so many functions since then and just haven't been able to get my act in gear mentally. This is the first weekend in a while, that I can actually say I have no events, gatherings, or etc. I plan to stop by Aldi's after work and get all my allowable foods to prep and get started tomorrow. Why wait until Monday? So I was just wondering has starting over the weekend helped anyone else?

IMO the day you say "I'm ready" is THE day to start
A lot of people (me included) that say "Monday" end up over indulging over the weekend

Hi Dottie. That's so true, and so me when I would say I'm starting Monday.

Good way to look at it though. Thanks for chiming in.

A weekend is a great time to start. You'll have time to get the right shopping and prep work done for the week ahead. By Sunday night you'll be able to think of anything you want to get or do differently for the week.

I think the weekend is a great time. Honestly anytime you are ready is the right time. It is the "I am ready now", that makes the difference. Go with it! You have got this!

I agree with the others - the weekend is the perfect time to start. You could even cook a bunch of low carb food ahead of time to last you through the week. You can be relaxed, plan your week and maybe try some recipes. Keep it basic in the beginning.

I agree that starting when you feel the motivation is the exact right time. I started on a weekend and haven't looked back.

I started on a Wednesday. I know it was an odd time but I woke up on that particular morning and decided that day was the day.

How's it goin?'

It's been two weeks... how's it going? Have you knocked out your first mini-goal with a successful induction?

You can do this!

I weighed 231 at Christmas in 2012, and realized I was too heavy, sluggish, and old-looking to do the performance work I loved. So I started supplements and fasting, and lost 30 pounds by July 1st, when I decided I could take on the "Insanity" workout program. I lost the weight in a month... because I basically fasted for the month of June, doing back-to-back Isagenix fasts.

But I never broke 200. Never entered "One-derland," which I see is another of your goals.

I stayed with Insanity, and got back into aerobic shape... but I wasn't paying attention to my nutrition (feeling my challenging workouts earned me whatever treats I might want)... so my "shape" slowly crept back to the ROUND category. I slowed the weight gain with frequent 2- and 3-day fasts, but as soon as I broke the fasts, each pound I'd lost came right back - and brought friends.

I was all the way back to 224 by this time two years ago!

So it finally dawned on me - go back to LC! Atkins had worked great for my wife and me years earlier... but when she wandered away from it, so did I.

Combining Atkins with Insanity ("AtkInsanity") is the secret sauce for me... I'm back onstage and feeling fit and spry. But for the weight loss, I find it's really far more about the Atkins than the Insanity.

I lost 46 pounds in 2016... entered Onederland in May... and have been a happy resident of a healthier body since.

Not bragging... just hoping to encourage you. You're on the road to Onederland! You found it! Stay on the road. You'll thank yourself.

I just started today (Thursday) and I started in the middle of the day, lol. I just decided I am doing it. I have been 10-15 pounds away from being able to wear all my beautiful clothes for too long. Plus I want to FEEL better. I have the Atkins flu coming up for the next week. I know I will be tired and head-achey. I remember that from before. BUT I also remember I felt great once I got through the first week. Let us know how you are doing

Midlife99, good for you for making such a good decision. Be sure to consume at least 2 cups of full sodium broth every day and you may avoid the 'induction flu' all together! Check in here for support and new ideas!!!

How are you doing two weeks out?
I am starting myself today -- it has taken me a couple of days to prepare but a Thursday start it is! The long fat winter is history.
