I decided to come back home :)

Greetings!

I joined LCF a long time ago and have decided to return home. As you can see, I never posted much, but found this forum to be fun and informative. About two years ago, I lost 30 lbs and felt fantastic! Well, I've gained half of it back in the last six months or so (bad food choices and menopause sure haven't helped).

I'm looking forward to getting back on track!!

HOME!! I stayed gone a long time too. Facebook groups aren't as slow and personable as LCF's is I've decided. I've been back a few months now and really enjoy the good company. I'm in that same menopause black hole too, so I know how you feel!

Well then I guess I'm back home too! I started back on LC last week. So far a very successful week. And count me in on the menopause train.

Thanks to awful family genes, I am dealing with high BP, cholesterol and sugar glucose. I'm on meds for 2 of the 3, which I hate, but know that will all go away staying on and doing well with LC.

Sooooooooooooo....good luck to each of you!

Thanks Barb, Chris & Cathy.

Barb - I'm also dealing with hypertension (diagnosed last spring) and am on meds for it and hating it! Since meno, my cholesterol is up slightly. Ugh...

The toughest thing for me is I do all the cooking (except for one night, when hubs does the honors) for 4 adults, 3 of whom are naturally skinny. It's a bit tricky to stay on track.

Welcome back and hi, everybody! I'm a few years out from menopause, and I experienced that weight gain. It was so frustrating because what had always worked before didn't work anymore to maintain my weight. Last August I experimented with Intermittent Fasting and I brought my weight back down to the low end of my range and I've been able to maintain it there. You may have to,shake things up and try something different, but I credit my success to eating clean low carb over many years. I had minimal menopause symptoms, but I'm sure sympathetic to others who have more issues than I had with the transition. Everyone is different, but getting to a stable healthy weight is so important as we age.

This, too, is my first post in, like more than a year. Or something.

Slacked off on my diet a bit during that time but fortunately only gained about 5-10 lbs. However, recent health events have made me realize I need to get back on track, if for health reasons moreso than weight reasons. I think (but am not sure) I might have a gluten issue.

3 cheers to all who come back here after a long hiatus!

Oh I hear you. I had a good Thanksgiving. With the exception of a small serving of hot corn, I ate clean. No sweets, no carbs except for the small corn portion. Turkey, roasted veggies and greens. It was awesome!

I agree. I just eat "cleaner" when I'm here.

Intermittent fasting sounds worth trying. I'm thinking of starting off with the 16/8 method, since I usually skip breakfast anyway. Thanks, Casey.

hi, Tina - I do (approx) 18/6 - try not to have anything between dinner and lunch the next day. I always thought I "needed" to eat every 3 hours, so I was surprised that I could do it! What's great is that you just do what works for you! Some people can do fasts for longer - even several days, but I didn't do well with that.

Wow! Great to see so many jumping back in! It always helps me with motivation to remain active in this forum. Let’s not let the holidays be an excuse to gain more weight! Starting now is a good plan! Post often! We are here for you all!
