....but of all the days I deserved a 1.2 pound drop, it wasn't yesterday. Prolly just water weight from quitting the steroid prescription for my neck/back/arm pain.

I did okay on the KETO front, but I ate some Dill Pickles and Cherry Tomatoes outside of my 4 hour "feeding window" and I've got no excuses.

So, there it is. A flop.

I don't know why I did that to myself.

But, I'm back at it today. Strict KETO in a 4 hour window. No grazing, No fudging. No cheating of any kind.

Good Morning!

Goal: 170

8/15 - 179
8/16 - 177.6 YES finally got the scale to budge!
8/17 - 176.6
8/18 - 176.2

May have over-carbed a bit but not on purpose.... promised myself a
lettuce wrapped burger from a restaurant nearby but they would NOT pick up the darn phone!! Tourist season is a PAIN. So there I was, hungry and looking for something quick. Ended up with beef fajitas but despite my request for no rice no beans no tortilla, they just HAD to put it on a bed of rice. Ate most of the good stuff and avoided as much rice as possible, ended up giving the rest to one of my co-workers once it got too rice-y. Poor planning on my part, but I will get my darn burger today.

Arrggghh Don't look!

OK August was almost a bust. After starting in July I encountered some scary moments that made me think I had broke myself.

I hate posting but I feel this is the only way to continue my journey otherwise I might be tempted to give up. Of course this could backfire and if I loose my way I might be too ashamed to come back.

I was taught this notion that every 6 days, you should recarb. Does anyone else take a "cheat day" to enjoy those forbidden high carb foods?

Aug 1 - 264.6
2 - 264.2
3 - 261.2
4 - 260.6
5 - 260.4
6 - 259.2 Here I got the shakes. So I thought I needed to get off Keto and reload with some carbs or missing elements.
7 - 260
8 - 260.4
9 - 261.2
10 - 262.6
11 - 259.8
12 - 258.8 weakness, fatigue, palpitations force me off keto again. This was devastating because I thought it meant Keto wasn't for me.

13 - 260.2 second day off because I thought I needed some recovery time. I feel as if I ruined my health some way. Oh no.. I must have broke me. The weakness subsides after eating everything in the house.

14 - 261.2 It was my electrolytes! Restarting again.. you can see how my weight just started going up.... But I am drinking a homemade brew of salt and potassium (no magnesium since I already take a supplement) and I feel so much better. It's really like night and day. I can do this! I can! (Good grief I hope so.)

15 - 261.6
16 - 258.2
17 - 256.6
18 - 257.4 Once I am on board and feeling very ketogenic I hate taking or losing a day to those carb reload days. Just because I know it takes me 3 days to get back to where I left off. Day 1 is always hard but day 2 makes me feel like, I worked hard at getting myself through the first fast (Yes I do intermittent Fasting along with my HFLC way of living) and I am not losing that. Day 3 is always encouraging because I see the weight go down. My mind is clearer and I enjoy what I am eating but it takes some planning. Today is the day I lost 20.4 pounds since I started 39 days ago. And to think I almost gave up when I hit the wall with my electrolytes.

, Ketonian! I recarb too often, but never on purpose. I blame it on the carb addict in my head. She is VERY manipulative. I do best with long stretches of of 20 or less carbs a day.

I ate too many cheese curds tonight. *shame* Maybe time for an egg fast this weekend? I've been feeling nibbly, not hungry, just not satisfied I guess. Meh.

Good Morning!

Goal: 170

8/15 - 179
8/16 - 177.6 YES finally got the scale to budge!
8/17 - 176.6
8/18 - 176.2
8/19 - 174.8

Well here I am again at 175! This was my post-baby weight for many years and was my original target when I was at my highest weight of 245. Lost quite a bit with the rice diet but what a misery that WOE was.

So......new goal - 150
and the egg fast starts today for a minimum of three days to get me AWAY from 175.

Ketonian, way to go! Glad you got it figured out.

Ketonian ...No to re-carbing. If carbs aren't an essential macronutrient, and you could live without consuming a single carb, why would you re-carb?

For me, keto really changed the way I think about food - not to mention eat. I'm no longer starving all the time, I don't wake up hungry, I don't think "what am I going to eat today" .... in fact, I'm rarely hungry. So, nope ... I don't carb up. What would be the point?

You said that very well indeed! And KETO has changed the way I think about food also. You pretty much described my experience precisely.

If the steroid prescription (for the pinched nerve) caused my recent 4 pound bounce, it certainly is taking its sweet time going away. Grrrrr.

Yesterday I did a full day of work and was 80% pain free. Sleeping wasn't so good however....

And WOWSERS! My left arm is WEAK!!! I sure hope that isn't a permanent gift from my damaged disk.

The Queen just came in and said our grandson is on the way. Gotta sign off now and go do some grandpa-ing.

Its a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it. (Grins)

See y'all later.....

Holly... Whenever I "carb up" it's because I caved. I don't do it for any other reason.

Ugh, I tried so hard to be on plan while traveling for work, but I drove about 2000 km and that makes me retain water. I hope that's all it is, because I passed up some supreme cheat food.

Back to the grind. Need to go back and catch up on everyone's posts, hope it is all going well.

Finally got around to fixing the pool. Seems to be working. Used a hose for a sump pump to replace the return hose, some plumbers tape and metal ring clamps. Filling to pool up today and balancing the chemicals to get ready for some nice hot days coming before heading out of town for some back to school shopping with the kiddies. Then looks like nice hot weather until school starts so I guess pool is staying up until September (don't forget I live in Canada). So despite getting the pool up late this year and it breaking down I guess it was worth it.
