TMI Post: Parasites

This is pretty gross, so if you get grossed out easily, you've been warned!

I am about 3.5 weeks into my most recent low carb journey. Over the last couple of days, I noticed I have been having some odd stool. A couple of times, it felt like there was something "still there" after I went, no matter how much I wiped. This morning, I passed something rope-like, about a foot long. Scared the heck out of me! I know I haven't been eating shoelaces, so this must be a parasite

Has anyone else had something like this happen? Does a low carb diet kill intestinal parasites? I sure hope that was the end of it because that was not something I'd like to experience again...

You need to have it checked out by your doctor...

Ummm no, doesn't sound low carb related.. I would definitely go to the doctor, or at least call the nurse to see if they want to see you after you describe what happened.. They may want to take a stool sample.. Go as soon as possible.

Are you intermittent fasting? Some peeps have experienced strange movements when doing this.

But you should be checked out by a dr., of course.

Could it be candida? Google candida feces photos.

Sounds like a tape worm. Google it.

Ok, after some suuuuper nasty google photos, it definitely does not look like candida or tapeworm, it looks like "rope worm", which apparently may or may not be an actual parasite, but a mass of toxic buildup, which releases when doing colon cleanses, fasting, or cutting out wheat/sugar. Baaarrrrfff.

Wow, well that beats the other choices. Sounds like you are now toxin free.

I googled and was reading up on these rope worms. Ewwwww!! So if you expel one, does that mean there aren't any more?
